Dean/tutorial shitstorm aside, is anyone actually excited for this game?

Dean/tutorial shitstorm aside, is anyone actually excited for this game?

I think it looks pretty fun

Wasn't it supposed to just be bosses?

Not that excited but might pick it up on sale or bundled. It seems fun but I'd like to see how many levels it'll have.

Not a fan of this platforming SHMUPs, they take the bland part of both

hehe

Yea, although im biased and love the fleischer-esque style it has going, im gonna have fun with what it has to offer. Hope you do too

looks boring
like a modern alien hominid

Yes, but quite a lot of people wanted levels in between, the developers took it as a legit fan response and worked on that, if not the game would already be available one year ago.

The game looks prettying fucking reddit to me.

it looks pretty cool even if the shooting lacks the feeling of power and the hud they settled on is shit
delete this at once

What shitstorm
t. Rockdweller

looks good.
I like the aesthetic.

Can't wait until people start posting a cropped pigeon, or a chip on a string

WAIT A MINUTE

a journo couldn't make it through the first half of the first level in 20 minutes and the professional twitter victims jumped at his defense

If I had an Xbone or a decent pc I would get it. Same with Super Lucky's Tale.

It's my opinion though, OP asked for mine.
Games like these end up with repetitive platforming and bosses with low bullet density, which is the worst of both worlds for me.

Best version

Yeah, I want to see all the boss fights.

>If I had an Xbone or a decent pc
Nigger have you seen the requirements?
Its 10 year old specs.

Sorry but to review a game you don't need to be a hardcore gamer.

I hope you aren't being serious.

Think back to the tutorial notes...what did they say about dashing and jumping...?
>jumpjumpjumpcrouchdashjumpdashjumpcrouchdashjump

>Implying making a simple jump constitutes "skill"

i like the old cartoony animation. the game looks ok though not great. i might pick it up some day

Yeah, day one pirate

at least this article doesn't blame gamergate like that faggot dean does.

not really. Music sounds pretty bland and boring.

>forget to allocate talent points
>woowww this game is impossible this game is bullshit

>Dean/tutorial shitstorm aside
Can someone give me a tl:dr or something?
Don't wanna derail the thread, just don't know what happened.

Look at this

Hope you niggas read what george wrote about this
hastebin.com/raw/fogaqohuyu

tl:dr

stopped reading at the second paragraph
the man has 20 fucking years of experience and
no, he didn't develop any """"""skills"""""" while playing the game on the footage

there is absolutely no way to defend this, the outrage is deserved even more so because instead of admitting the footage is shit, he kept this trainwreck going

he would've probably spent 5 minutes at that pillar section if it wasn't for someone very likely helping him out one minute in

lol
Your loss.
If you read the whole text, defending dean isn't even his main point.

>defending dean isn't even his main point.
Let me guess, he tries to defend "gaming journalist", and you're defending that.
Go back to sleep Dean.

This. It is alien hominid 2017 GOTY.

Just like the any cartoon from the thirties. Boring as fuck but accurate.

Journo with 21 years as a "professional" on his resume struggled to beat the tutorial and in the first level he straight up gave up playing, it is a 26 minutes footage from PAX.

The original shitstorm video is called "Shameful Cuphead gameplay" and that title is the current one after the website Dean works for got flooded with people complaining about the original title "Cuphead Gameplay: It isn't easy", the original title pretty much favored Dean as if it implied he was so awful at playing it because the game was too damn hard.

Dean itself literally said it Cuphead "is the Dark Souls of platforming" in his defense, then this shitstorm broke out.

Well, you dont NEED to be a hardcore gamer
But you should at the very least to understand the medium.

This guy does neither

nigga, I read the thing. And his take fails to capitalize on any defending points or take a stance. Instead, it's just some opinion piece with listed pros and cons. The guy just literally talks out his ass and I'm suppose to merit this shit?

The worst point he made was trying to claim that the anger was misdirected because people are confusing game journalism with game previewers/reviewers? What the fuck kind of logic is that?

When did this shit get announced like 5 years ago? That's when I was excited.

Looks nice but the soundtrack sounds like it is going to piss me off pretty fast, those cartoons from the thirties were like 10 minutes long, those repeating piano notes are bearable for that long but in a full game that's pushing it.

Actually it was revealed in 2014's E3.

Thanks my dude.

I thought after Polygon's shitstorm with Doom journos would at least be a little more on the ball about pretending they like games.

Yes, you do.

i preordered it because of dean

Don't shill your video cunt.

Can you explain further

sure, I like games with great artstyles and the Coop aspect pushed me over the edge.
It's also a Shmup platformer with almost 100% raw gameplay.
What's not to like?

Are they right?

I didn't know it was focused on boss fights, it looks alright

It's like saying people should stop fetishizing food because terrorists eat food
