They killed on the RPG and SRPG section, they're all rather above average. DJ Max 2 & Clazziquai are games that are permanently parked in my real PSP, but not sure how well it emulates here. Also, the Namco fighting games (soul cal, tekken) are surprisingly well done and full of content.

Corpse Party is bretty good. 2D horror game about a bunch of kids that get taken to a nightmare school. Voice acting is top notch and is really good with headphones (it has binaural audio, one of the only horror games that I know of that makes use of it). Also, despite it being available on PC, this is the best version of the game as it has actual seiyuus instead of amateurs.

I liked the first one, but the second game(book of memories?) was a crappy paced VN with a terrible UI/navigation system.

It was one of Square's first big projects on the PSP at the time. It was 2007/2008 so it was still pretty early in the PSP's life so not only were there not that many rpg's at the time, the game never got to use the full potential of the PSP. Sort of like comparing a launch console game to a game made very late on the console's life. The only rpg's there were at the time were ports and literally who's(not saying they were bad or anything). It was top 10 because it was mostly likely a lot of people's first big SE or rpg game on the PSP

Yeah. The sequels have been really disappointing. Blood Drive wasn't good at all, either. Corpse Party 2 was supposed to have it's first chapter re-released on the new engine 2 months ago, but I have no idea if it actually released and how good it was if so. I remember the original release of chapter 1 was buggy as fuck

This right here explains it all. People liked it because it was also on a handheld that looked way better than anything on the DS. You gotta remember it was 2007 so smartphones and tablets weren't big, when the PSP did something it was fucking amazing no matter how simple it was because there was no other handheld that could do all the shit the PSP could and still have games that looked good.

Persona 3 Portable is good if you don't mind school segments being in Visual Novel format instead of 3d explorable areas

It's a shame, the DS only "won" because of the amount of shovelware. The PSPs best games can't out sell Barbies horse adventures and brain training.
Simmlar thing with the 3DS, only a few good games worth having with a montain of shovelware.

True that it did. I recently tried to play the GITS game again. Who ever thaught that using the 4 buttons as turning and aiming needs to be taken outside and shot.

This game is barely know exist, story may not good as Steins Gate if you like game with time travel plot this one worth checking out.

If it was first party it could i think. CPS3 runs but with heavy slowdown. I'd buy a switch for portable third strike with active online. But it will probably never happen

3rd Strike 2011 wasn't a big hit. That's to be expected when the roster is mostly unpopular characters.

I tried it on Vita's Retroarch and it runs at like 40fps. Shame.

I'll tell you one thing that doesn't play nice on PPSSPP.

Rhythm games.

Especially on Android. I can run Miku with a steady 30fps+, but I can feel the input lag.
I know this because I have the Vita games and Future tone and I play the same songs vs the PSP versions, and I have no problem with those.

Gitaroo Man has the same problem. Play it on Vita or PSP, then play it on PPSSPP. You can clear the whole game no problem on the original hardware, but you will struggle a bit on Sanbone Trio onwards. Especially Zoe.
