wew, turns out I entirely forgot about something that had previously happened with my laptop. I still technically had the save file because I have two completely separate Windows, one in each drive. I had to retrieve the files from my Windows Vista hard drive to my Windows 10 one. But at least, it gives me a whole other reason to try anew.
