Fox n Forest: Pixel thread

Recommend me some videogames that do 16bit pixel art/graphics the best.

You post this same thread with the same image every single day

get a life, loser

You want current games or old school?

It was only yesterday and I was mainly talking about the game itself. Now I'm asking for recommendations of games like this.

Don't need to be an arse about it but I'm glad you remember me user. I'm flattered.

Something nire recent preferably. But I don't mind you throwing out a class/hidden gem

Oh jeez

I'll try and stay away from the obvious stuff like Sanic Mania and Iconoclasts

Sonic Mania

How do you save gifs on twitter?

I don't have any screenshots that I can really show off right now but do a quick search for images in-game of CrossCode and you'll see a game that's got some great-looking pixel art. The game is absolutely beautiful.

Pic related is just fanart the MC Lea to get your attention.

Shiren the Wanderer for the PSVita looks great

Jesus Christ that's way to smooth. And people tell me they're sick of the pixel aesthetic.

it's pretty neat stuff

Not a game, just some artwork

I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a fan made game of this nature.

Remember someone tried to do an NES styled one but it got Nintendo'd.

Hyper Light Drifter

This looks comfy as fuck.

I wish I didn't stop working on my Pokemon Essentials project a year ago. Imagine how far I would have gotten if I kept up today... (After only two weeks, I had up to the second gym complete.) :(

nu-Sup Forums only plays AAA games.

Not only that, the combat looks like a real slog in terms of speed.

Literally every model is a straight ripoff of dragon warrior monsters for the gameboy.

Yes, it's a dragon quest clone.
Specifically based off 3.

I'm a bit sad that the game isn't as good as it looks.

...

>indie pixelshit

Shovel Knight absolutely nails the NES aesthetic.

This is what Sup Forums should be talking about when they say indie pixelshit. That tiny blocky stick figure graphics trying to be lo-fi by looking shit on purpose. Nobody on Sup Forums who isn't a plebian should resent indie games which put some work into their 2D visuals.

What happened to that, did the whore run off with the money?

Hyper Light Drifter is one of the only metroidvanias that completely nailed what it felt like to play Super Metroid for the first time

>the isolation
>the mystery
>the atmosphere
>the occasional 16 bit cosmic horror

So fuckin good

Dunno, haven't been following for long.
Kickstarter drama?

to be fair, it's a shitty meme game.

Wow rude I have feelings you know

I think it was just a vanity project for some "pixel artist" chick who convinced her brother to program her a game and then spammed herself in literally every gamemaking community ever with the "LE WOMAN IN LE TECH" angle. She's still spamming hashtags like #VisibleWomen.

The problem is that she can't really do anything that's not a reskin of someone else's sprite. Look at the coloring on this portrait for example. And her brother has to animate her shit because she's too lazy to animate the sprites too.

i remember this, devs were on Sup Forums for a bit i think

told the artist that her character art needed a bit of light if they really wanted to emulate akihiko yoshida, as the screens posted were sort of lifeless

shame that their tactics ogre/ff tactics knockoff didn't get off the ground, i was hoping for a new entry in the genre

Oh, I thought something actually went down. I'm following her and the game on twitter (kinda just jumped on any indie project/pixel art stuff as I saw it) and they just posted their steam page.
I guess the game's coming out after all.
No release date though.

That's just a Lenneth recolor, what the hell.

what really?

actually hoping it does well despite the devs then, hopefully other devs see there's a market for pc tbrpgs

Yeah. It went up just a few days ago.

Yeah, all the stuff in the game is like that. I wonder when people will discover where all the "original map assets" are from.

>How do you save gifs on twitter?
It's been awhile, but I don't think you can. Twitter now converts all gifs into a mp4 file.

>no exploding girl at the end
