I just finished a couple of games.
watched a bit of league but honestly think hots is a faster game.
obviously there's far less meta knowledge to learn and it's probably easier to optimally play a character but hots has better pacing and is more fun for me because of it. Haven't really played a moba outside of hots though so I could be talking out my ass here.

I played League for 4 years and you're pretty much bang-on.

With league you spend the first 10-15 minutes farming and surviving jungle ganks until the game transitions into the mid-game where things start picking up and the carries start snowballing.

In HotS, the first 10-15 minutes is most of the game. Things happen immediately and there's no waiting around for gold to accumulate or skillpoints to level since there're no items and you start off with all your basic moves that grow in power as the game progresses.

Comparing the two games, League is by default a deeper game, but that's only because there are more champions, there's the jungle, items to buy, gold to farm, and carries to nurse until they're ready to actually carry the team. There's so much more going on in League than in HotS that it makes it "deeper". But the thing about HotS is that even though the gameplay is shallower, it gives you more time to focus on team co-ordination and actually playing the game.

In League it was always like "I'll really start to stomp when I get my Trinity Force."
In HotS it's more like "When we hit level 10 we'll force a team-fight and wreck them."

The difference being that getting your Trinity Force in League isn't always a guaranteed thing since if things don't go your way you'll never get the gold to purchase it.
In HotS, reaching level 10 is inevitable and usually happens within the first 10 minutes.

There's not as much pressure on you when you're playing HotS, it's a more casual experience than League. And because of that, it's more fun.

Anyone else hoping Blizzcon brings a Warcraft event finally? I'd love to see what maps they choose for that.

I really, really tried to like this game but it's impossible.

It feels like a constant clusterfuck, many fun mechanics are dumbed down, you have to form a fucking train with your team all the time after early game, it forgives too many mistakes, no item customization etc. And it's too pricey as well.

This coming from someone who really enjoyed both Dota and LoL.

It's a shame because Bliiz game's lore have tons of unique characters and they are very good compared to the average assfaggot hero.

See I think hour long games with too long grinding is boring as shit and I don't pretend any mobas are deeper than others they're all casual, Hots is 15-25 mins a game constant action and sure it's a clusterfuck but it's hell of a lot more fun

i can't think of many arguments why i should play hots as a dota veteran. i'm accustomed to having every hero available to me and the dynamics of creep killing/denying which dominates early game is watered down to just killing creeps in hots. the game has less features and is generally less advanced, so i really can't think of many reasons why i would bother, particularly not when i can't play whichever hero i want

i wish i understood the appeal of skins. i've played dota and dota 2 for probably around 10 years, yet i've never felt that changing the appearance of my heroes adds any satisfaction to my experience

Not him, but KT is FBFP in High Diamond and Master. His damage output on small maps with an emphases on rotation is fucking uncheckable, and he builds to 60 blight in like 8 minutes, especially if his team mates are constructed around having slows, roots, or knockups.

The only time I enjoy playing ASSFAGGOTS is with my cousin who does suicidal shit in DOTA all the time, and I doubt either of us would ever enjoy HotS.

There's such a thing called drafting. If you pick KT you ask your teammates to have some kind of peel, and chances are you'll some kind of peel even if you don't ask for it.

Good positioning helps tremendously outside of these instant teleport cooldowns.

HoN is undisputedly the best moba out of all the existing ones
Too bad S2 has made lots of bad decisions which killed the game for me, but if I had to pick a good mobashit, HoN would be the best. Dawngate would come second, then Dota, then HotS, then Strife, then dozens of other mobas and last comes League of Legends.

In fact that game is really fun, believe me, but blizzard is fucking annoying they made a system that force around 50% winrate, you can chain like 12 looses a row after winning a lot, for that they place you quite shitty match making where the other can literally abuse you, they also place you with fucking beginners or annoying cancers that are muted by the system.

If you tag with 5 good players you know you will avoid the bad players side, If you tag with 4 players the last player will always be a noob.

If they only make changes around that the game would be perfect.
