It was interesting but the demon transformation didn't go far enough, in my opinion.
What a disappointment. All it needed was a few tweaks to the combat and it could have been decent.
Instead the studio goes on to make Technomancer which still has all the same problems, proving that they learned nothing.
What a weird story. I probably would have dropped it early on but you level up and get upgrades so quickly that I was able to make it far enough to give a damn about what was happening. Final boss kicked my ass a little.

Enjoyable game if you ask me, and considering it is from City Interactive, it's surprisingly good
Deck13 developed it. CI Games did the planning.
I know but games released by City Interactive are usually pure trash regardless they developed or just published them

Had some interesting things going on thematically and visually but the most important part gameplay you dummies is pretty mediocre.
Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for "hero is possessed by" stories.
Also, Edwen a hottie.

Both Spiders and Cyanide games are sadly underrated because people get hung up on visuals and polish way too much. They're also both showing obvious growth as developers.
Was interested in the concept of the demon possession and whatever it advertised, forgot if it was that the more you use it the more evil you become, don't want to look it up and get excited over false promises, I forgot why did I drop the game but everything including vegetation being brown kinda put me off, don't remember how the game played but I think you could switch between longsword and daggers?
did you like the ice puns bosses?
Didn't make it far, all I remember was the prologue where a band of mercenaries is surrounded by skeletons and after that i made it to a village and started doing some quests, that's when I stopped, but seeing this thread makes me wonder if I didn't just stop playing it because I was really busy when it came out and I missed out on something good
played the game on my 360
there were areas with completely missing shadows and textures
still had fun tho
yes but longswords, axes and hammers are useless because the parrying with two-handed weapons was fucked up
that game of thrones rpg especially. such a great game that actually makes use of the license to tell its own story instead of retreading the show. shame production values are all over the place.
All of those no-budget European knockoffs of AAA games are pretty good. But they hamstring themselves by charging near-full price for them at the start.
Got this for $12. Bound by Flame for $5. Demonicon for $7. The GoT RPG for $5. Very happy with my purchases at those prices.
I wish we could go back to day of Gothic quality levels when devs weren't just aping western studios but doing their own thing. Or at least drawing inspiration from actual good games like how Gothic did with Ultima, for example.
Didn't Mathras mention something she was walking around completely naked back in the days
Who Greedfall hype here?
youtube.com
>Greedfall is set in a completely new world, and the many quests can be completed using “combat, diplomacy, deception or stealth”. There are companions to collect, mysteries to discover and multiple endings, all based on your actions during the game. Side with the religious zealots and you might help to convert the entire island nation to whatever faith they’re importing, or go with the science types and you might find a way to harness all of that raw nature energy. Of course, if you’re not a bastard you’ll probably be figuring out how to channel the raw nature energy so you can fire it back at all of the invaders and send them packing, and then you’ll probably get to live in a tree forever.
This game was pretty bad. Could have been good if the combat was any good but it was so dull chance based it really ruined any fun to be had. Just reduce enemy HP a bit, remove the stupid unblockable aoe stun everything casts.
remember when that game was released, reception was mixed, because half of the people found it bad and the other half found it good
ofc when TTG GoT was released, this game became quickly forgotten
This game is fantastic but barely ever mentioned
combat wasn't that bad, they just fucked up two-handed weapons - they were slow af and parrying was horrible
dagger attack however were fast-paced and you could dodge, maybe this is why 99% of the people who play this game use only daggers
"hype" is maybe the wrong term but I'm actually looking forward to it.
Game's title is still retarded, though.
1st one
I hope they vary it up a bit. Mars, Bound by Flame and Technomancer were essentially the same game in many ways with Spiders just catching up to Bioware's formula more and more with each title.

combat was shit, but apart from that it was a fun game
