Any recommendations on racing wheels?

Any recommendations on racing wheels?

Logitech G27 is the shit.

check out the racing game general on /o/

is a good option

Now that the thread is saved, I'll give you a quick rundown.
-THREE metal fucking pedals. METAL! Not Chinese plastic shit that will break after a few months. Stifness is just right (less on the gas more on the brakes), but you can install your own springs if you want.
-Did I mention that there are THREE pedals? That's goddamn right, you can drive with the clutch like a real man, not a need for speed series pussy.
-900 degrees rotation. You wanna drive a real car or what? Don't settle for less. (I mean, technically, if you're driving something like Lambo Huracan, it has 360 degrees, but otherwise 900 is the gold standard).
-SWEET MOTHER OF CHRIST A SHIFTER THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR. Logitech really dropped the ball with later models. You basically need to pay twice as much for the full setup.
-Driving cars with sequential transmission? Got you covered, pal. Those METAL motherfucking puddle shifters will make you feel like a goddamn pro racer.
-Buttons! Who fucking cares about them, but you have all the necessary options you want to bind like ABS+- traction control etc. Not enough for all formula functions (use keyboard nerd), but I don't think you're that autistic if you need a wheel advice on Sup Forums anyway.
-feels nice. I mean, it's not real leather or anything, but you can always change the wheel itself to a replica of a sport wheel if you know what you're doing. There are a lot of commercial wheels specifically for that.
-Kinda hard to find. I had to find a shady dealer who imported them from EU to get mine (still cost me like 30% less than if I bought the new logitech without a shifter).

>puddle
paddle, fuck

I cant seem to find this in Australian. I was looking at this one though. Its $440 with free shipping and comes with all pictured.

It's basically the same shit in the new wrap. They still have same problems (some wheels lose centering as the time goes by for example). If you're prepared to pay more, go for it. Why would you drive on PS though. PC has way more games. Both arcades and racing """sims""".

Racing wheels are kinda fall into the category where you cant cheap out and buy some cheap shit.

You need a good quality one to actually enjoy the game with it.

I have a pc and ps4 and said wheel works on both apparantly.

Check ebay or gumtree. Theres a lot available for me in Sydney

>tfw all I had to do to make me some rad centering band is to stick some blue duct tape on my wheel
>tfw Logitech is asking 440$ for it

What racing games would go nicely with racing wheels?

good luck playing gt sport on a pad

DIRT

Any game that supports feedback (that's like 90% of them)? What are you looking for?

Not entirely sure. any of the Gran Turismo games maybe? What about F1 2017?

I had the most fun with Need for Speed Underground back in the day though. Haven't touched any racing games in forever.

I had one, used it quite a bit and sold it for almost the same price. I didn't have much space to have it set up permanently, and setting it up everytime started to be a chore.
The person I sold it to won't sell it back to me, sadly.

If you're looking for more "simulation" games (as in, those that kill the fuck out of your engine and transmission if you're not shifting properly) try iRacing or Assetto Corsa or something. If you can drift IRL, you can drift in those games, for example.

If you're looking for beautiful games that are more arcade-like, try Project Cars, especially if you have a powerful rig. I can't run it on maximum settings, but my friend can, and it looks awesome (I dunno about the second game, it should've been released as of now).

There's also a distinct lack of urban-based games that are not arcade NFS bullshit. I got into racing sims after NFS:U, and was pretty disappointed that there's no serious RUNNING IN THE NINETIES simulator.

Also, formula games are hit and miss. I'm not mad enough to buy one every year, but the one I got last (2016? 2015? I don't remember, sadly) was fun.

Thrustmaster T150 Pro
Cheap, solid wheel that comes with decent pedals

I think I'd try a more arcade-style racing game for starters. Would Project Cars be good to get into racing games?

What are some Eurobeat-core games?

The Thrustmaster T150 is really good for a cheap option. The wheel is fine, although the mounting mechanism is kind of clumsy. The pedals are kind of crap and the first thing you'd want to upgrade but the pedals you'd upgrade into will work with the wheel you'd upgrade into later.

Deffo my recommendation if you want a small buy in with an upgrade path instead of a large buy in.

Sure, it looks good, has good sound, and decent enough force feedback (you'll need to tweak your wheel for it anyway, there are some guides online). It's also not that expensive right now, last I checked. I'd say rFactor or iRacing are more "sim-like",
>simulating a real car L O L
but you don't have to be autistic about it to enjoy driving.

If you can find yourself a Fanatec CSR Elite set, you can't really beat it. They're usually around 200-250 bucks these days. The pedals are really nice.

Project Cars is a pretty nice game
And its not arcade-style, its a somewhat decent sim with fancy graphics
Personally recommend buying Assetto Corsa, it has really good physics, a lot of cars (however lots of those are DLC), mods and active online

Assetto Corsa
Downhill drifting in a AE86 is fun
