Bizarro world activated
So who can we expect to work on the Zelda 2 3DS remake?

>wanting a zelda 2 remake
Majority of people hated that game, so no.
If it did get a remake, then it would turned into a metroidvania style game
FROM
>Majority of people hated that game
People hate Zelda 2 for a good reason
>You just can't handle things that are different!!
I can't handle things that suck ass
All three games were already good, the remakes just make them better.
Zelda 2 remake by Vanillaware when?
Oracle games remake when?
What other black sheep sequels are there to remake anyway
Devil May Cry 2?
>Upon its release in North America, Zelda II became one of the most popular NES games of 1988, with many retailers reporting that the game was selling out that year.[36] The game ultimately sold 4.38 million copies worldwide, making it the fifth best selling NES game, behind the Super Mario Bros. series and the first Legend of Zelda game.
ITT: The "artificial difficulty" generation doesn't appreciate a good game.
was it a good game?
Legit question, I'm running out of zeldas to play.
>it would turned into a metroidvania style game
That sounds pretty good. Just remove the overworld thing and random battles
No it wasn't
Mario bros 2
It's obtuse at some points, but otherwise good. Give it a shot.
Fuck off, it's just hated by idiots.
The biggest complain it gets is "not traditional Zelda" even though it's the fucking second game
Holy shit, yes.
Yes
This. When I got it as a kid I was hype as fuck and played the shit out of it. It was one of the best NES games.
People who hate on it are the brats who weren't born yet when it came out.
>First game is a landmark title that either creates a genre or redefines it
>Second title is either a completely wacky deviation in style or just shit
>Third game doubles down on what made the original good and is seen as one of the greatest games of all time
Question: what franchise am I talking about? Here's your answer
>Final Fantasy
>Zelda
>Metroid
>Fire Emblem
>Castlevania
>Devil May Cry
What else? You know there's more.
I love the sound track man.
Honestly, we keep getting ports of later Zeldas but this could really use a remake
It's a very good side-scroller for the NES.
The main problem is that some parts of the quest are very random (you have to visit some very specific tiles of the map, if I recall) due to a lack of hints, or unfair (that fucking dead end in the final dungeon...).
Most people shit on it because hivemind and some quote of Miyamoto pulled out of context.
The overworld was great though.
By NES standards and for its time? It's decent
It's worth at least one play-through. The game does feel a bit dated in that you might have to wander to find some things, but I wouldn't use a guide right away.
Need for Speed
Star Fox
I've been wanting a Zelda II remake since the Gamecube days. I swear, hating Zelda II is the biggest sign of someone jumping on the bandwagon.
People act like it's Simon's Quest or some shit.
To be fair, Fire Emblem 2 wasn't necessarily popular either, and yet it got a remake.
It's like Nintendo is giving these games a second chance, and it's great.
Yes. Unlike the first Zelda, it's actually a good game.
??? star Fox 2 la really similar to the first one
This
its not that bad but its not that good either
Zelda 2 has interesting ideas
I have no idea who'd work on this though. Yacht Club Games might be good at it, since they're good at 2d action gameplay and Zelda 2 is at its most fundamental level a 2d action game, but they also seem pretty busy.
>Metroid 2
>Castlevania
>Devil May Cry
All of these are wrong though, especially Metroid 2. When it came out the only complaint was that the screen was too small and the final boss was too hard from people who didn't understand how to slide down the neck.
This.
The people who claim "You can't beat this game without le nintendo power" are fucking brainlets.
If you actually talk to villagers, they give you enough hints to figure out everything you need to beat the game all on your own.
Literally the only part of the game that's bullshit level of difficulty is the final boss fight witch can just be cheesed with the hide in the corner trick.
Supa mario bruddas TWOOOO
Vanillaware was suggested and they'd be perfect.
Echoes wasn't great tho. It was ok.
Mario
Everyone posting in this thread saying anything more glowing than "it was an okay game at best" or getting hyper-kneejerk-ass-blasted about people saying it was a fucking dumpster fire are either trolls or rose-glasses faggots.
It's an objectively bad game using a good IP that has several design sins behind it. The problem is not that it was "different", it's that it was a fucking poorly designed piece of shit. Why does it have a lives system? That alone makes playing the game a chore, since if you run out of lives, you then have to trek through a dozen fucking perilous caverns to get back to the dungeon you Game Over'd in, risking some of the lives you need to beat the dungeon in the first place.
And the few "shortcuts" they availed you were so sparse that oftentimes you still had to make your way through half the game world just to get back to getting your ass kicked with one or two lives left.
inb4 "git gud" faggots. There's an acceptable level of frustrating game design, and then there's a fucking player-hostile product. I could level so many more complaints against Zelda 2, and I still own the game, but that by no means makes it a "good" game.
Thats the whole point of a remake.
Fix the wrong parts.
(You)
I'd like for it to get one. I don't like the original at all but I think it could be fun if they remade it.
Holy shit, someone else who liked 2 better than the original.
I thought I was the only one.
>and then there's a fucking player-hostile product.
>Wastelands make hostile environments
Whoda thunk it.
Practice more and get adequately skilled :^)
Metroid II was far more linear and "rail roaded" compared to the original game or Super Metroid.
Thanks for taking my bait, friendo.
:^)
Legend of Princess
That doesn't make it bad though and it was the second entry. Non-linearity wasn't set in stone at that point.
0/10
It was a metroidvania style game you fucking retard.
It was one of the pioneers of that type of game. And it was never hated on release I'm not sure why everyone says this lie over and over.
think you mean -1/10 for blatantly ignoring an inb4
Zelda 2 has a lot of great things about it, but the sword fucking sucks. The sword is so short that it just makes you feels crippled for the entire game, and not in a fun way.
How would you even measure this? Every fucking faggot in here saying it was "widely acclaimed at release" is full of shit. There was nothing but word of mouth and paid critics or reviewers in game magazines because, surprise, there was no widely available public forum via internet to discuss these things.
You say other people are pulling facts out of their ass, meanwhile you dumbshits keep claiming that "EVERYONE LOVED IT." Who? You and your 5 friends on the playground?
Oh, my bad, I thought I wasn't alone. My bad.
youtube.com
May be confusing without a guide, but yes. It's one of my favorites in the series.
Don't bother with Zelda 2. Play Castlevania instead
Fuck off, you impersonator. It wasn't bait and Zelda II is way better than the original.
I think zelda 2 is a legitimate contender for their next remake. There is a trend here. They're releasing these games with reversible covers on a very consistent schedule so far with reveals six months apart and release four months after. This can't be purely coincidence. Come december we'll find out what they have planned next I'm sure. Zelda 2 is near the top of my expectations.
Just to clarify, there's nothing wrong with liking the game even though it's a piece of shit. People can like whatever they want. But white-knighting its obvious flaws to the point of attacking the people pointing out it had flaws makes you a faggot and I'm going to continue to shit on the dumpster fire that is Zelda 2.
If you love it, embrace it, and just say it "I like it even though it's a heavily flawed game." That gets you a gold star as far as I'm concerned. Also I hope Ubisoft does the remake since that has the highest potential for jimmies-rustling.
If nothing else a spiritual successor would be nice.
samefag
I prefer Zelda II to Zelda I, user.
git gud
But seriously you sound like a blathering bitch of a man. The lives system isn't that big of a deal since you can continue at a dungeon assuming you get a game over.
...
Like a link between worlds that would be great too. That game even began development as a straight up remake. But with this trend whatever they show off will certainly be a remake of something.
Same
What's that supposed to prove?
>Super Mario Advance
>Which came with a remake of Mario Bros. that was ported to almost every other GBA Mario game
Though to be fair, it's been 16 years
Yeah. They're both good tho
...
Okay I'm genuinely curious what's up with the #
But he is right, anyone can edit an image to insert (You)s
>post yfw the whore is replaced by a busty chef
Phoneposting.
That was basically a port of the super mario all stars version
It's a link to the post. If you press it it doesn't get inlined and just takes you to the post instead.
Also I didn't edit the image, that's lame.
Fuck off retard.
I'd play a Zelda 2 remake if it was good, hell 3DS already has loads of good Zelda, why not more
The contention that's gripped this thread is real.
>Every female npc has boob physics in place
I would genuinely love that. Something in the vein of Rygar, maybe.
the game is actually pretty good but brutally hard and super rough around the edges, i'd wager it needs a remake more than most other contenders.
Yeah well who hated it? You and your 5 friends?
...
Would gladly let them restore my life.
>Wanting Nintendo to ruin yet another game with a remake
Everyone who keeps saying they hate it in these threads is evidence, not of EVERYONE HATING IT, but the vast majority of people who post all over the internet saying they hate it... news flash... probably hate it. Meanwhile, there's a minority of people who love the game, but those same people also insecurely say "EVERYONE LOVED IT"
Hell the evidence is in this thread. Why do you have to try so hard to defend it? People hated it. It's okay. YOU'RE ALLOWED TO LIKE IT. But don't make up imaginary statistics because you're insecure about liking it. Not everyone who says they hate it is trying to rustle your jimmies, I promise.
>Everyone who keeps saying they hate it in these threads is evidence
Evidence of people hating it now. But that's not what we were talking about.
Vocal retards does not a majority make.
And my point is that your credibility is immediately nullified by ad hominem.
Oh please, you just suck at video games. I beat this fucker when I was 10. Back in '87.
Mainly because game reviewers back then actually played games and where good at them the only obvious shill was NP and even then they was mostly fair in their criticism.
If you was around in when it came put and played it upon release we all was playing it and not many people complained about it because forbthe time it was a great game and even now it's still not bad and helped establish what would later be tweaked into the "metriodvania" style of games
It's a good play, but do NOT expect any hand holding. The game will NOT give you a whole lot of hints. The best thing to do is explore everywhere, and when you get to Death Mountain think LOGICALLY about what direction you want to go in. Also, do not save and quit if you are near leveling-up: you'll lose those experience points. Keep going until you level up, THEN quit.
Zelda II is one of the few games I would recommend a map for on first time play if you weren't raised on the NES or earlier.
What's it like being an old man on Sup Forums?
I can only imagine what it's like being 40+ year old and seeing all these 18 year old faggots talk shit about Zelda II just because every other Nintendo fanboy says so even though barely anyone played it, let alone finished it.
It's one of my favorite Zelda games, unlike the others it's actually challenging.
>game plays nothing like a zelda game and is basically a pile of shit
>y you just suck!
sorry I don't force myself to play all the way through shit games
Boring. Everything you little faggots think is cool was done to death generations before even my own. I sit here and laugh at your idiocies while getting paid to do so.
What did he mean by this
Go away then you old fart
