Why did you post a PS2 game as an example of PC FPS?

Also no, I just miss the gameplay.

>Why did you post a PS2 game
Is TF2 a console game because there's a console version?

I do actually

IT'S YOU AND ME MINER

I love games like first and second Call of Duty.

DON'T HURT ME, PLEASE

AAAHHHHHHHH
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

TF2 wasn't made for consoles and then later ported to PC. Red Faction was.

PLEASE, LEAVE ME ALONE.

RED FAAAAACTIOOOOONN

I preferred the mid 90s fps aesthetic.

proof? wiki indicates both versions were released at the same time.

I like how the lack of polygons made everything clear. You knew exactly where to go, what parts of the level could be interacted with, and what items could be picked up.

nah, it was quite possibly the ugliest era for video games in general, there were some exceptions though like XIII and NOLF

console FPS like halo and timesplitters had the right idea in terms of aesthetics

No it doesn't. It indicates there was a four month gap between the PS2 release the PC release.

it was the best of times and worst of times

>those railgun dudes near the end who could oneshot you

fuck those guys

I personally think the Halo aesthetic sucks

Oh yea. It's still a PC game though.

Yes but when I go back to replay some of them I realize they just aged like milk. Project IGI in my memories had aged as a great operator sim where you had to be tactical or the game would punish you. But playing it again today it's just boring run and gun with archaic gunplay mechanics and stealth.

i guess its time for another playthough

...

my nigga

black hawk down was my shit though

this game was the shit.

...

It was one of my fav game back then. I tired sof2 once but I couldn't get into it.

the aesthetic and sounds

>the sound of the crowbar in halflife

I miss the seedy underworld, smoke-filled alley, scummy subways kind of atmosphere so many of these seemed to have. Max Payne, Kingpin. Even the NY level in Deus Ex.

A bit. But it's mostly the gameplay I miss.
God damn its such a shame of what happened to the FPS genre, it used to be so damn good.

max payne also had that wintery feel to it.

Idiot thought PC game was a console exclusive.

I wish people would name the game they leave screenshots of.

I DON'T DESERVE TO DIE!

>PC game was a console exclusive.
it's not since it was clearly playable on PC?
who cares?
why do you even bring up this shit

no, they were ugly as shit

3D graphics age like milk

It's Urban Terror

im making a FPS inspired by this era of shooters. how does it look?

I think this one was done late into the 00s but I've always liked the aesthetics of these maps, they were also filled to the brim with secrets.

Yeah I keep getting blinded by all the details in modern games sometimes, like I couldn't even see the loot in dishonored 2.

Pretty shit desu. Somehow minimalist yet very cluttered. Not really sure how you managed that.

Probably the terrible shading that makes it look a lot more wonky than it should.

A little bit, but I think it's just because I miss old school Tribes

No textures/10

>who cares?

The person who started arguing about it, and you for arguing about it.

Looks good, but everything needs more polygons. It looks so old.

Needs some proper texturing and not just flat colours. Give it some dirt

>console FPS like halo [...] had the right idea in terms of aesthetics
fucking end yourself you retarded baby
halo is the epitome of bland generic sci fi trash

...

NERF ARENA BLAST
NERF ARENA BLAST

>Not NOLF2posting

yes actually. graphics used to be much clearer and easier to read. these days everything is covered in post processing, motion blur, bloom and other stupid crap plus tons of busy set dressing shit that makes everything cluttered and impossible to pick out gameplay elements or players (leading to 'detective vision' and other stupid mechanics). games were better when they were simpler.

some textures/meshs need work, but I prefer simple and no clutter or dirt

Do people still play UT2004?

Got a download for this?

I miss when sprinting was just moving diagonally. Makes me feel like a ninja

What is this? It looks like Golf With Your Friends.

Well, it doesn't really look anything like any of those that I'm aware of? They were pretty low-poly, but mostly "realistically" textured, as far as it was possible. Look at Soldier of Fortune webms ITT.

I loved the style of games like Turok or Perfect Dark, and I'm real glad they both got remasters.

I like the look. Single or multiplayer?

...

I don't play anything that is less than 10 years old, so I don't really miss that aesthetic.

...

>[violins intensifies]

>no clutter
pic unrelated?

I'm still able to work out what to do in video games. What I hate is the stupid direction system that tells you directly where to go. There is no getting a feel for the places you are in, now you are just following cursors and shit.

...

>unreal 3
the worst engine in terms of graphics honestly. Everything is shiny as shit

...

This holy shit. Everything is so detailed now but you can't see any of it. It's all just visual noise, blur, and mud.

What the fuck happened to clean visual design? Assholes.

Sorry lads, just posting the GOAT

What's the point of that? Time doesn't just stop, so a game that may be 10 years old now will be 11 years old later. Why not just play it now?

He waits for the dust to settle.

I don't really miss the aesthetic as much as the older DOS titles but the gameplay was way better than the overdesigned garbage we get these days

Just because a game is old, doesn't mean it's bad.

there is no quake 2 model jitter in that video

Games used to get attention by how much blood it had. Every time a new game came out and had more blood than the games before, it would get attention. Now nobody cares because it's been done to the point where anything more would look comical.

This also, I refuse to pay more than 25$ for a game.

I think you got it backwards; if a game hasn't been in the market for at least 10 years I won't play it.

not much

Early 3d graphics are always pretty horrible to look at.

not really testing publicly yet, but here are a few keys if you manage to get one. You can host your own server and choose the map/weapons, but there arent many players yet. also a lot of bugs/gameplay glitches

>I refuse to pay more than 25$ for a game.
Why? Are you jewish?

No, just poor.

Not him, but there's no better way to stop prices from creeping up.

here are steam keys, the dots are 6's

Thanks, I just took the first one.

fineleatherjackets.net/monkeyinflation

Game?

id say make it a night map, more darker colors, kinda have it blend in better, the neon around the tree looks wrong. but apart from that, looks great user!

>tfw didn't show any interest and took a key anyway

But games are cheaper now than they used to be.

WTF dude? Just play it.

I miss the mid-2000s aesthetic.
The id Tech 4 and Source games, the modified Unreal 2 games like BioShock or Splinter Cell, Far Cry, Stalker, Timeshift, even Crysis on max.
They were all clean. Then Unreal 3 ruined everything. Actually most early console games of that generation went overboard with special effects.

>UT

My nigga

Yes. Tribes 2 is still one of the most aesthetic games of all time imo.

I can't go back on my devilishness, it's too late now. Sorry.

Bioshock is the opposite of clean, sparkles everywhere.
