is it worth downloading? is it fun?
I played it a year back on a friend's ps4 for about 5 minutes, but give me the lowdown

>easy to learn, hard to master
>community is divided between fun/good times and toxic fuckers
>high skill ceiling
>satisfying if you have a good matches
>you always have value to your team, defense or offense
Play unranked first and learn the basics. This is one of those games that just gets better and better the more you play it and you get some friends to match up with. My only game where I have clocked more than 400 hours.
find some people who just want to have fun driving flying cars around. don't take the game seriously at all.
I like it a lot
you will slowly get better without even realizing and it's very satisfying when you start pulling off more difficult maneuvers consistently
has crates and keys but it's cosmetic items
even if you arent very good playing ranked is nice because you get matched with people who are around your skill level and you dont have to worry about randos constantly dropping in and out
unranked is nice for warming up
the devs seems pretty cool and committed to making rocking league great for their fanbase instead of pumping out rocket league 2 and fracturing them
since you're on PC I would highly recommend playing at as high a framerate as you can, it really seems to make a difference I feel handcuffed playing at 60
play it trust me
i have 2000 hours
thanks guys
controller or keyboard?
Controller, I couldn't even imagine how terrible KBM would be
Fun as fuck. Play unranked 3v3 at first to get a feel for the controls and how to block/shoot/etc. Your mistakes aren't as glaring in 3v3 so it's a little more forgiving. After that, I'd suggest trying 2v2. Preferably with a buddy.
I've spent hours and hours playing this game, one of my favorites of the last few years.
>My only game where I have clocked more than 400 hours
same, I was strictly a single player kind of gamer, I would pop into CSGO every now and again if I was in the mood for some multiplayer competitive gaming but that was rare
rocket league changed that, the game is so fun
One of my favourite games to come out in years, played about 1000 hours and still have fun every game.
Controller, also sort out your camera settings straight away. This is what mine are set at but play around with them a little, the most important is switching camera shake off and increasing FOV.
time to find my 360 controller I guess.. and the adaptor. sheeit
this is not a game designed with keyboard in mind, absolutely controller
>playing with new people after putting 200 hours in and realizing you're barely even playing the same game as them
feels good
Do yourself a favor and map air roll/power slide to LB/L1 instead of X/Square so you don't have to get used to it later. Makes controlling yourself in the air while boosting a lot easier.
i just got my brother into it so he's at semi pro tier while I'm at legend
I saw he was playing so I hit join game from steam friends list and invaded his game
put me on the opposite team which was losing 1-4
came in with a minute left and scored 4 goals, the winning goal going in at the buzzer
i blew their minds lots of Wow!s and OMGs
next game they accounted my ranking so my brother was way out of his league so left him alone
but yea, its crazy how different the game is played at different levels
when the game goes from land to air thats when things get interesting
THIS
personally I left handbrake at square but definitely make air roll L1
you should always be trying to land as flush as you can
>am diamond so not too bad
>play unranked 90% of the time though and have a high mmr in it so I’m often against champs
>jump into unranked 1v1
>against a guy who is 60th in the world
>get completely destroyed 10-1 and barely touch the ball
It’s crazy how much faster people are
Well, can't find my adaptor
looks like I'll just be playing a bit of siege until I find it in the morning then
cheers guys

What are some basics of driving?
like, something I can't pull is to fly around. is that and I often crash a lot around
>slow down
>learn to use handbrake for turning
>change camera settings to suit you
>use ball cam most of the time (switch off when looking for boost and dribbling, you will also switch it off a lot for hitting the ball at high level)
As for flying, that just takes countless of hours of practice in freeplay, custom training and in games. After getting the hang of some basic flying, just go into unranked 3s and go for pretty much every aerial you can. You’ll fuck up a lot at first but it takes several hundreds of hours to become consistent and accurate at them.
>toxic

>slow down
isn't the idea of the game to go fast pretty much all time? I mean at least while in pursuit of the ball.
the others I kinda do it by now. so it's only to get used uh?
I've got a long road ahead.
Nah that’s a common misconception. There’s a difference between playing fast and going fast. Playing fast is having quick decision making and committing as soon as possible, going fast is just boosting around at supersonic at all times just chasing the ball, which either results in you completely missing it or hitting it too hard down the field and giving away possession.
Until you have the mechanics and quick thinking to hit the ball well at high speed, slow down a bit just before you get to the ball so you have time to position yourself for a good hit or dribble, or make a challenge and get in the way if the other team hits it.
what gpu?
It comes with 1050 and up
soccers gay so i dont play this game
post webms
>played a lot a year and a half ago
>start to not fuck up every single aerial attempt
>stop playing
How the fuck do I get back into the game? I'm awful again and always get matched up with people way better than me.
