Dlc better be in a desert and they use this for some kind of fucked up bug boss, maybe a Tarantula Hawk.

Ori is better but both are amazing games.

bad game

Shitty game with tumblr artstyle and reddit humour.
Next.

>didn't play the game

not surprising

I've kind of mellowed on it over time, we'll see what I think after replaying it when the DLC is out before settling on a permanent place on the list. It's pretty damned good either way. Most people's criticisms are fair, mainly that it's too drawn out, but I really like the artstyle, combat, and exploration it has to offer.

Apparently the devs removed an entire finished area from the game at some point because they felt it was getting too big, but I think a better idea would have been to make the game more dense in the first place. There's a lot of content here, but not an amount that justifies the play time. I didn't mind on my first playthrough because I was generally happy with it, but I fear replaying it would become a chore.

i got halfway through and thought "bad game" and dropped it

It's bretty good. Once the grandiose feeling of the game wore off through the slog of going back and forth between spots and once you get so powerful the enemies just become annoyances, it loses a lot of its charm. Bosses are at least consistently fun, until you learn the pattern and even they become droll. It also has bugfus.

Not usually one for nostalgia, but I loved Amazing Mirror so much that I can still appreciate it all the way through on replays. It's definitely high-tier, like an 8/10 or so. Not easy to get 100%, though.

Doesn't droll mean interesting? I think you might have meant to say "humdrum" there.

>lamulana on holy trinity and great tier

which one is it?

if you enjoy metroidvanias you'll like it

if you arent familiar with the genre i can't guarantee anything

100% it, really enjoyed it, waiting for the next update to play it again.

3 hours in and bored as hell.
Considering dropping it, I love metroidvania games but the art is boring and uninteresting to look at and game hasn't done anything to make me want to stick around. Also shit music which makes me want to fall asleep rather than play the game.

Late game is probably fine but you need a hook to get you there and this game most certainly forgot any kind of hook to keep you playing.

>Kurovadis
We need more legit good H games.

Do we know when the DLC comes out

I enjoyed it a lot. The final boss was fucking bullshit and not fun, but it was still a fun game with tight controls and a great soundtrack.

I'm stuck

I dont know where to go after the 3 kings.

Go back to dirtmouth and talk to Grandpa Bug

thanks Satan

It's alright, would be a 10/10 if the Dreamers were proper bosses. As it is it's a 8/10.

I think that it NEEDS TO COME OUT ON SWITCH

no problem you pale monster

I'll take "Things nothing needs" for 500

Someone sounds salty over not getting a switch

Mediocre and worse than Ori/Rabi-Ribi, better than Rogue Legacy.

I stopped reading when I saw Momo on Great Tier. Game is fucking terrible and isn't even a metroidvania aside from its map. There is zero worthwhile backtracking in the game and its only 3 hours long.

Enjoyed my time with it, will never play it again because it has little going for it outside of the charm. I wish the gameplay was as inventive as the setting but all you get is the bog-standard double jump, air dash, "I can walk through poison now", etc as you slowly (SLOWLY) backtrack all over the place.

Just play An Untitled Story. Greatest Metroidvania.

>better than rogue legacy
Them fightin words son, rogue legacy one of the better games we've gotten in recent years.

One is the updated release, the other is the original.

Not him. Rogue Legacy is a glorified launch game, in which you throw yourself into some of the worst level design in the genre until you die, purchase upgrades that consist almost exclusively of "larger numbers" instead of anything interesting, and then repeat.

i havent owned a nintendo console since the gamecube and i really dont care to.

Ori needs to be longer, Hollow Knight needs to be shorter. Or make the world less tedious somehow. Still both great games, yeah.

Launch Game? I only played it on PC so unsure about console shit.

It had lots of neat lil twist but kept to a nice formula.

Someone make a tier list of all metroidvania games.
So I can use this post as a veil for a recommendation for a good one.

>someone make [something that is literally right fucking in this thread].

>i wish this game was on my console
>i bet you are jealous that you don't have this console that cant run the game this whole thread is about
i dont care about console wars, but you look stupid as hell.

Not every game has to be 20 hours long.
Momodora is short but it's better paced than Hollow Knight.

i really enjoyed it
castlevania dying still hurts me to this day and this is the first game that gave me the feeling of sotn > ooe metroidvania since, well, ooe
reasonable challenge in it too
if nothing else i'd like to see more content including more areas being corrupted by the plague as you progress and more dream nail boss re-fights including mantis lords and hornet
a boss rush after those would be the tops

>big open area with nowhere to go nobody to talk to
>just endless grey bugs in an endless grey area
>game gives you NO direction or inkling on what to do where to go. Even the map you FINALLY find is all but useless
>severe lack of mobility options. Basic shit like double jump is fucking absent
>le enemies hurt you just by touching them but you can't jump on them to hurt back
>hit multiple times in chain hits and you pretty much die instantly when surrounded by bugs
>combat is boring as fuck with jump and a quick weak slash attack.

This game is fuking weak and retarded

>lack of mobility options
That's like bitching about the first part of Metroid because all Samus can do is jump once
