It's ok I guess. Loved the single player storyline. OST was meh when compared to others. I like some design choices and think others were pretty retarded. Multiplayer was a step in the wrong direction and paved to way to 343's dumb shit.
Best art direction by far. Singleplayer was good but armor abilities should have stayed in singleplayer.
Loved it.
Fuck/v/, this is by far my favourite.
A good send off to a great series.
It ended here.
Also, I love how despite the sadness displayed as most of Noble team dies and then Six dies, you still remember in the back of your mind that it's all worth it in the end because you already played through the Halo trilogy.
Elites looked stupid. Elite Armour looked great.
best aesthetics, solid story, okay multiplayer
It's a piece of shit
Good campaign, despite all the lore rectonning they had to pull off, but I will always resent the game for introducing the concepts of sprinting and armor abilities into the Halo franchise.
Never read Fall of Reach. What exactly did it retcon and why is everyone always so pissed of about it?
So when talking about Halo Sup Forums why do you constantly talk about Bungie's worst ones, I'm talking about Halo 2's campaign and ODST along with Reach as wholes? Why don't you ever talk about Halo 1 and 3 which are better as a whole? I'm surprised many of you don't like Halo 5's campaign with it having the same problems as Halo 2, ODST, and Reach's campaigns.
Wonderful art style, fun campaign with vibrant settings, and weekly challenges kept multiplayer interesting. Firefight was a lot better in this than in ODST as well.
Brutes having no place in ground assaults since this was pre-civil war and the Elites wouldn't allow it, Spartan III's basically being suicide soldiers that were kept tip top secret and not deployed openly like they were in the game, everything having to do with Jorge, etc.
Wew that sucks. Not really into Halo lore so it doesn't bother me much but I know what its like to get mad because of retarded retcons.
Fucking Oblivion
They introduced Invasion and specifically Invasion Spire but never gave it back to us.
It has a good and challenging campaign and the multiplayer is fun but a huge step down from Halo 3. I really liked Firefight and Invasion, though.
Here are Reach's flaws:
>Not enough character development of Noble Team for you to care about them when they die
>Elites have unpredictable and unavoidable 1Hit kill melee attack
>Concussion Rifle was a bitch to fight against in Legendary solo
>Spartan abilities were stupid and should have never been a thing. While tolerable in campaign, they were terrible in multiplayer, especially with shit like armor lock which slowed down gameplay and was a bitch tactic
>Bungie nerfed running speed and jump height to force people to use sprint ability
>Multiplayer maps were copy+pasted directly from the fucking campaign and while Forge World maps were alright, they all looked the same
>Removal of weapons like the BR and SMG
>Game was very grindy when it came to earning credits
Overall, Reach was a good game, an 8.5/10. But it was a huge step down from Halo 3.
armor lock was garbage and people cried too much over it.
Halo 5's campaign is dogshit and isn't comparable to real halo
>ODST and Reach
>real Halo
Nice joke, Halo 5's campaign was shit because it built off of Halo 2's worthless campaign and somehow made it worse, then it grabbed from Reach's "muh squad is muh weapon" bullshit and made it worse. Halo 5's only redeeming quality with that campaign was the level in some of the levels. All in all Halo 2 had a disappointing campaign, Halo 5 had a shit campaign, ODST and Reach were shit in general.
*level design
>tfw Halo Reach online is dead
so is Halsey Jorge's mom or something
>tfw Halo Reach online is dead
FINALLY!
Nah it's trash, but some people jack off to shit so that's ok
...
>dude brown and grey LMAO
When will people learn that good graphics =! good artstyle. Halo reach was fucking boring to look at.
I never defended Halo 5's campaign, all I said that it sucked thanks to Halo 2's campaign, ODST's campaign, and Reach's campaign.
...
This
Halo 2 > Reach > 3 > 1 = ODST > Wars >>>>>> 4 >>>>> Guardians
Halo 2 and 3 > *
Prove me wrong.
Yeah * was really forgettable
It was aight. It was the first Halo I bought myself, I received 1, 2, and 3 from my Uncle and Aunt that worked at bungie signed from various employees. Made it a little more special in some ways and less in others :(
Brutes were in Reach? I honestly don't remember them being there.
Everyone says 2 all the time yet it's I don't remember it being that good. Reach was way better with ODST not far behind.
That there is called "personal taste," my boy.
good multi and forge. forgettable campaign
We don't like that here in Sup Forums
*grabs you by the neck*
BACK OFF PLEASE?!?!
In my opinion, it is by far the best halo game. One of my favorite parts about the game was the armor aesthetic. They tried to make it all look functional, and it was clear that it all had a military purpose. Not like the fucking power ranger shit that we have today.
Back the fuck off??
>Bungie nerfed running speed and jump height to force people to use sprint ability
This alongside the dmr being a shitty meta weapon are two main factors bringing down Reach.
My favorite Halo game.
It felt like bungie wanted to try something a bit new with the whole you lose in the end scenario.
plus its the last thing bungie made before they went full fucking shitlord mode
I like it. Would buy an Xbone for an anniversary version.
Reach had the best campaign for solo play
Halo 3 had the best campaign for co-op
>the guy with the Skull helmet just dies off camera
>Sniper lady just gets brained randomly
>Giggus Niggus has a heroic sacrifice on the ship
>Noble 6 dies like a champ, taking down 100 covenant before they drop
>other guy survives, staying with Halsey
Who am I forgetting?
Great game, better than 3.
2>1>reach>3>4
>team leader kamikazis into giant enemy crab
But Halo 5 is good
>Brutes having no place in ground assaults since this was pre-civil war
Literally the first ground battle against the Covenant had brutes in it, though. Brutes just weren't in the same role as elites till after the great schism, they were still used before then
Halo 2, ODST, and Reach were never really that good. The only Halo games from that qualified as having a good campaign were Halo 1 and 3.
>skull helmet guy dies off camera
Doens't the camera focus on his death? He stabs an elite in the neck and gets stabbed by an energy sword in return.
It's Kats death that was shit.
It had a great weapon set when you got rid of all the shitty ones. Everything else was bad.
Reach remains the best Halo
Kat gave me a boner so i liked it
Single Player:
Halo 3 > Halo 1 > Halo 2 (because of Chief's levels) > Halo 4 > Halo 5 (only on the list because of Chief's levels)
No reason for me to waste my time adding the other two worthless piles of shit.
Oh look it's the cheeffag
i was severely disappointed by lack of these guys
Reach had them though
yeah i know, but it lacked them in comparison to others
Yeah, on the final mission, operating the gauss cannon that's fending off a swarm of Covenant dropships and a Cruiser on it's way to destroy the UNSC Pillar of Autumn before it evacuates with Master Chief. Without Emile and Noble 6, the Pillar of Autumn would've been glassed and the Halo trilogy would never have happened.
>I'M READY!
>HOW ABOUT YOU?!
Feels good winning, again.
A literal semen demon.
they're lacking in general, i want to see what a Yanme queen looks like, or at least see their rank system come back like they were in ODST, with the highest of them all being bright red/gold with rhino-beetle horns and shield systems.
it'd be cool to have a mission where you infiltrate their hive to kill their queen
i imagine fighting buggers would get really annoying really fast though
Better than 5
well if a new Halo game ever introduces a weapon with a ridiculous rate of fire and they want to introduce it, or if they want to introduce a vehicle in a level dedicated to it then that might alleviate the annoyance while you swat them down in relative safety.
then again, that mission would be hell on earth on Legendary, so i guess there'd be no way to introduce the queen seamlessly without annoying everyone or making it out of the left field
By far my fav Halo game. I love how the campaign let you see a different side of the war that didn't focus on MC. Love the armor designs and the story
On a side note, bought Xcom 2 and added a bunch of Halo mods that have basically turned it into a Halo game. It is now what I wanted Halo Wars to be
They were trying to bring back the H1 vibes
Honest thoughts on 343 industries?
I loved the campaign, the powerups did change the multiplayer a lot from 3 and I understand why people didn't like it, but it was one of the best communities online. Even the kids who played it were somewhat well behaved.
Their trying unlike Bungie after Halo 3, looking at Halo 5's multiplayer and from all the information they've been giving out about Halo 6, I'm actually interested this time in Halo 6.
This thread needs more giant purple space dildos.
>I only played Halo 5 but I'm going to post about Reach and ODST anyway.
Fantastic.
>Spartan III's basically being suicide soldiers that were kept tip top secret and not deployed openly like they were in the game,
that was addressed by the pack-in limited edition journal and by a letter posted on bungie.net before release, a few S-III's who were above the rest were siphoned off to be used in specialist squads like Noble Team and the Headhunters
I mean it doesn't really make sense to just condemn every single one of them to difficult all-or-nothing campaigns regardless of how smart or agile they are
it's a good example of why Nylund's whole conception of things is flawed, he went for the shock value, the grittiness, even when it defied sense-- why did the Spartan II's origins have to be the way they are? it's explained in the story as them having necessary genetic markers and children being necessary for the augmentations, but why was it written that way?
They fuck up a lot but they get more shit they deserve, and most studios would be fucking up as much or worse they are.
Halo's got the same issue that Sonic has, where the franchise has so many different gameplay styles and sections of the fanbase that it's impossible to please even half the fanbase no matter what you do
Why did they never bring Invasion back?
>given that special metal case halo 5 as a gift
>wait 24 hours for updates so that I could play
>first campaign mission:boring
>first game of every multiplayer mode:boring
>gamestop only offers the base halo 5 value for my copy
I hope Halo 6 isn't shit.
I like it alot
Fags who said otherwise are the ones that left halo for mw2
Warzone Assault in Halo 5 is pretty much just Invasaion, minus the whole covenant vs elites theme
Halo 5's MP is great though, and the forge is elder god tier
Its motion blur also makes it absolutely hideous. It's like playing with those shitty beer goggles they gave you in middle school health class.
I have Reach and I don't even play the piece of shit. It and ODST were garbage. The only thing good about Halo 2 and 5 were their multiplayers and that was it. With Halo, I don't give a shit how good its multiplayer is, that campaign better be amazing because that's all that really matters to me.
>XCOM 2 has halo mods
fuck now I have to get it
Is it as good as Enemy Unknown?
Never tried forge, but the multiplayer just felt like Halo-themed COD with microtransactions
Still more players than battleborn, faggot.
Holy shit. Is there more crazy stuff like that in Halo 5?
>get an itch to play Halo Reach
>my copy is scratched
>head on over to Gamestop expecting to pay top dollar or 20 bucks or something for a used
>4.99
wow thats almost criminal
the Elites vs Spartans thing I thought is what had some potential, though it'd be a doozy to balance properly
>it's impossible to please even half the fanbase no matter what you do
Funny how Bungie never had a problem doing exactly this, regardless of the changes they made.
You think I give a shit?
You could go into the nitpicking, but there's no getting around the fact that FoR had Reach destroyed in a matter of hours whereas the game had a prolonged, month long invasion.
>the forge is elder god tier
You retards parrot this shit so much, I bet you even believe it's true.
Someone didn't play Halo 2's campaign, ODST, or Reach.
Except they did. Halo Reach itself was the biggest case of fans being up in arms during the Bungie years.
it's been out for almost a decade
Loved it.
If they remade with Halo 3's competitive rank system for MP I'd buy in a heartbeat.
>dude brown and grey
>there's no brown and grey anywhere in the screenshot
>there's more brown and grey in halo 3
I wonder what possesses people to shit on games they've never touched.
the halo fanbase has been split ever since the second game
Fuck
>It and ODST were garbage.
Well, that's categorically not true, I doubt you've ever touched them at all.
