How much more can they fuck up the next TES?

How much more can they fuck up the next TES?

Voiced protagonist
Even more watered down skill/perk system ala Fallout 4
More retcons
Paid mods

>opening starts with an internal monologue by the main characters husband

Quality

one male and one female voice actor for every voiced line in the game
all dialogue is voiced
player responses are 'Yes' and 'Yes, asshole'
only two skills: guns and melee
only the beginning events are in the base game, ending with 'war never changes' followed by a popup to buy the rest of the game as dlc

Remove the attribute system even more, simply raising health, stamina and magic at the same time as you level up.

Armor skills all become a single 'armor' skill.

More town building

Complete and utter ignorance towards the established lore

Character race makes even less of a difference.

Bethesda are slowly turning into the worst company ever. At least F3 and Skyrim are sort of entertaining. If they keep up the bullshit it's going to be completely unsalvageable.

Funny because fallout new Vegas felt like it was made in less than 12 months by a retarded modder.

Epic meme, bro.

I'm sure they'll fuck it up in ways nobody in his wildest dreams could come up with.

The reason why the Dwemer disappeared was the Zetans.

Fuck that they should go all out.
there is only 1 stat now, skills are bound to equipment, you can use everything, carry everything, and if you die in combat you simply wake up out of the instanced raid dungeons, if you want to try again before the timer is up, you need to buy a "atomic power cell" for real money. the story is a mishmash of autistic infantile humor "exploding head are funny" and memes "took a nuke to the knee" without any logic or coherence.
There is no character building except cosmetics, the worse the better.

>Slowly turning into
You mean they weren't? They were always as bad as EA. Remember Scrolls? Remember Human head? The shit they pulled with Obsidian not getting their bonuses? Horse armor? Todd's lies with Skyrim. And now paid mods. Their parent company Zenimax is cancer, and Bethesda is an extension of that cancer.

funny, because that post read like it was written by a retarded peter hines.

You forgot one:
Somehow managed to saturate the game with bugs without making it unplayable

Only thing NV is better at is being a good game, Fallout 4 is superior in every other regard.

They open Bethesda workshop in that game and sell you horse armor for five bucks, the horse armor (steel armor with horse decals) for five bucks and Daedric horse armor (both for you and your horse) in a bundle for only 9,95$.

>only thing NV is better at is being a good game
>Fallout 4 is superior in every other regard

I honestly can't think of ways thy could fuck it up more. Everything is so brain dead... only able to carry 3 weapons and perks are slotted.

How about starting a story where your wife gets killed and your children are kidnapped and while your character reacts to this with utmost urgency, you can still go and play around in the open world for all eternity if you want to while letting the kidnappers raise your kids.

>mfw Bethestards actually say things like this.

>t'is not a vermin, t'is a predicate
giants launching enemies into space was only the beginning, the funniest F4 ever was is when the game spazzes out completely, soon bethesda will have programming team that puts stuff like that in deliberately, then they will announce on twitter how loltastic their game is with all its whacky behavior.

One studio has multiple billion dollar titles.
One had to KS a sequel to their flagship IP.

Who do you think won?
INB4
Sales does not equal quality.
Well having to beg for money isn't a ringing endorsement either.

Dunno about Shitout 4 but Skyrim was basically unplayable at launch.
The game was utterly fundamentally broken until the first few patches.

Removing non-human playable races so they don't have to hire multiple VA's for each race.

I was going along a gameplay prospective due to Bethesda never being able write anything good.

>all skills and spells are perks now
>perks are behind level locks, not skill trees
>Three perk slots
>picking a hero also sets your weapon loadout and armor style at the beginning of the game
>you can select a hero when you die or when you are in the player's home
>no dialogue
>talking to npcs just puts quests into your journal or opens the trading menu
>buy gold and extra perks with real money
>single player only but always online
>paid mods
>base game is just an open world with a short story
>many quests are sold as DLC
>buying all the DLC costs more than the base game

Scrolls agreed to change the name.
HH was a clusterfuck of a studio.
Obsidan agreed to the contract.
Horse Armor was a good idea poorly implemented.
What lies?No climbing animation for those mountains?
Mods are still free.

So much for the evil publisher lie.

Skyrim was actually ok at launch, it was patches that broke it.

I think they'll just do away with any last semblances of being an RPG at all. Get rid of dialogue trees, leveling up, etc. Just go full-on Farcry-with-swords.

Hey Sup Forums, what do you think of this?
It's horse power armor from bethesdas creation club, it's a mod you gotta pay for.

>there is only one voice actor
>perks have been removed
>only 5 objects allowed in dungeons, all copied and pasted
>"civil war"
>races now have no passives

It doesn't look good for TES.
Just look at the pattern on Bethesda's modern games
Morrowind>Oblivion>Fallout 3>Skyrim>Fallout 4
You can only imagine how next TES will turn out

>See everyone? We can make fun of ourselves too! We're hip and cool haha! :)
>That'll be 5 dollars goyim

>>there is only one voice actor
>the reason there is only one voice actor is because they spent their entire budget getting a c-lister to do the intro

bethesda have royally cucked themselves

>Horse Armor
>Was a good idea
I very rarely call anyone a drone, but you are by definition, a bethesda drone.

Fallout New Vegas only excels at being a better game (story, lore, rpg elements, character building) Fallout 4 is better in every other way: graphics, quality of life improvements to gameplay (sprint, container looting, power armor, gunplay), atmosphere, ambiance.

Basically NV = a good video game. FO4 = good modern day digital product for entry level enthusiasts. (casuals and kids)

>only two skills: guns and melee

Combat and Non-Combat.

You're right about everything else.

Also, major quest character voiced by either Cumberbatch or Aubrey Plaza.

They're not EA yet. They do seem to be heading that direction, though.

>tfw every few months I get the urge tonplay Skyrim for some reason
>Install and play it for like an hour
>"Wow this is awful why did I want to play this?"
>Uninstall
>Repeat again in a couple of months

It amuses me that the voiced protagonist shit had so many fags who defended it two years ago but now almost no one does

the other day:
>wah how dare Fo1 and 2 fans shit on new vegas it's not a bad game!!
today
>le FNV is so much better than Fo4 amirite??? Pls upboat

Adding content by way of DLC = Good idea.
Only adding simple addition like horse armor = poor implementation of said idea.

I have tried to scale to your level. If it was not enough I won't dumb it down anymore for you.
That would require an icepick.

And most Fallout 4"improvements" actually came from New Vegas mods. Even the base building shtick.

yeah, just realized op was asking about tes, not fallout.
either way, it's gonna be terrible

Guys, what if Todd is lurking here? Better not give him any ideas.

every single bethesda game has been fucking terrible and that includes shit vegas

That is true but same can be said for NV as some of its own improvements were based on FO3 mods.

I don't hate FONV or think it's a bad game, but FONV fans need to realise it's a beautiful house built on a shoddy foundation and to me, its engine connection to Fallout 3 (a fucking horrible game) is bothersome.

I'd absolutely agree with that sentiment. What Obsidian did was brilliant, but it was still a shame it still used FO3's engine/mechanics/etc.

>new vegas
>Bethesda

>not fucking getting it

It's not just the engine. The main antagonist of the game is somehow even worse written than the Enclave in 3

I don't think they'll do voiced protagonist because even casuals didn't like that and it would also mean that you can't play as Argonian or Khajiit because Bethesda would be too lazy to voice them, and casuals wouldn't like that either.

Obvious solution: Remove Mer and Beast races, allow only Human characters

This, unironically, is what will happen. Bethesda's MO for when they mess a feature/aspect up is to completely remove it rather than fix it.

I'd agree with that. I used to really love the game and the engine didn't bother me, but last time I tried to play it I just couldn't get over how shit it all felt and looked. It's a shame, because there's a good game beneath all that shit.

I wouldn't really say there is a main antagonist in NV. Who the antagonists are differs depending on who you side with, but I'd say they're all better than F3's Enclave, even if the Legion is underdeveloped.

I don't think casuals will be okay with that, and the only reason they had the voiced VA in the first place was to appeal to them. A lot of people will only play the game for a couple of hours and they'll be more likely to enjoy those couple of hours if they get to create a cat or lizardman in that time.

The legion is clearly the ""big bad"" of the game, as unless you side with them, their the final boss of the game. And underdeveloped doesn't begin to describe it. The Enclave might be cliche and bland, but at least they make sense, unlike the absolute nonsense that is Caesar's Legion

They are underdeveloped, but Caesar explains in decent detail the purpose of the Legion, their roots and their situation both in and out of the Mojave. And if you're talking about Caesar himself as the antagonist, then he's a far better character than Eden or Autumn in F3. He and the Legion are still obviously flawed, but they're not that bad. That said, the only antagonist in any Fallout that I would consider really good is The Master, all the others have some glaring issue or another.

NV > 2 > 3 > 1 > 4

Caesar's "explanation" is a bunch of fauxlosophical bullshit that seems like a teenager wrote it.
The Legion, a group that in reality would get absolutely wrekt by a country like the NCR, are beating them militarily and economically, because the writers go out of their way to make them seem like more of a threat. They're literally Mary Sues. The writing tries to be gray, but it absolutely fails to do that by how hard it tries with the Legion.
The Enclave in two is leaps and bounds better than the Legion

unironically kys

Ceaser is an awful character

>a bunch of fauxlosophical bullshit that seems like a teenager wrote it
How so? It's a nice parallel to the NCR, them trying to recreate what is now a modern society while the Legion tries to recreate a much older one, and his reasoning behind wanting to do that is solid enough. You're right that they should be completely outmatched by the NCR, though. The Enclave in 2 is better than the Legion, but the Enclave in 3 is a lot blander, even if both are very morally black.

He's not amazing, but I wouldn't call him awful.

Caesar's recration of rome is pretty much just it's name and a few words. Besides that, it has absolutely nothing to do with rome. His justification for slavery, crucifixion and genocide is that the "harsh wasteland" requites a "harsh society", despite the fact that hte NCR has managed to create a much more advanced society without the need to crucify anyone.
Honestly, the Legion feels like the "im 14 and this is edgy" nation, and Caesar's attempts to justify it are atrocious.
Im 99% sure this is mostly the fault of Avellone, who is absolutely the worst thing to happen to fallout lore. And I'm including Mothership Zeta in that.

I see what you're saying, though I still would say the Legion are interesting if for no reason other than them being a good concept, even if they leave a lot to be desired on the execution. Though I thought Avellone mostly only wrote for the DLC in NV, I seem to remember hearing he had minimal involvement in the base game.

Honestly, I feel like I would have liked the legion if it wasn't for two things
1) How out of the way the game goes to try and make the NCR look bad in order to try and justify the Legion
2)Their absolutely retarded stance on technology. Honestly, FNV seems to have a running message of Numbers>Technology, when real life has shown us the opposite is true.

>only playable race is now human
>no reference to other races except some vague asspull where they all disappear "just like the dwemer!"
>set in hammerfell but looks suspiciously similar to the mojave desert
>jokes on you, this game is actually just fallout with magic now
that will be $60 plus mods.

if you're talking about the brotherhood, then it's more like "no fucking numbers and technology < shittons of people and less technology".

Yeah, but even the LegionvNCR in general. So apparently, dudes who abhor guns, and have a scavenging economy where the only guns are those they can find, are beating a developed country with an actual weapons industry, who produce arms and armor for their troops. And its just because "there are more of them"
Like I understand the need for video game logic, but it feels like FNV wants you to take it seriously, thus the problem

I do get what you mean, but desu if there's 10 guys with spears and machetes vs. 4 guys with Caravan shotguns and hunting rifles, particularly when the game tries to show the Legion as being quite good at ambushes, the terribly outdated ones still have a shot imo.
Also do they really all abhor guns? Everyone above a recruit seems to be carrying a gun, or is that just the game putting that in their hands for balance?

When can we expect the FO/TES crossover? I want to throw spells in power armor

Also worth remembering the Legion has taken control of quite a few army bases in the east, while the gun runners are still private and still charge the NCR quite a lot for their guns.

Now I want to play another FO: NV playthrough
you cunt

>Make it MMO-lite for consoles (like Destiny)
>Therefore always online
>Same engine

It's called Warhammer.

Earlier stuff like horse armour seemed to be more from incompetence, in recent years they've got really corporate and just become dickheads.

Well they already made Elder scrolls online.
It's not such a stretch that they'd make a Fallout online that is made similar to ESO.

>3 > 1
consider this

I'm not gonna get it if they do voice protagonist again. They waste too much money and effort on that shit, the writing in 4 was absolute garbage.

Sounds retarded enough that Bethesda would at least consider it.

Cut a third of the weapons amd armors and resell them on the creation club

>streamlines and makes shit more appealing for dummies
>LMAO IT'S AMBITIOUS

I fucking hate people.

Hell, i was just toying around with an idea of a side mission where you discover some ancient Zetan ruins, go to the very bottom and notice that the ruins start changing, all this while finding written records from the archeological team that studied the ruins before the bombs fell.
These records would tell you of their interpretation of the Zetan texts, telling about an "extra dimensional invasion by the deep elves" which ultimately caused the zetans to flee from Earth.
Later still, as the deep elves created a brief civilization, they did something that caused them to disappear, with last recordings they left behind speaking of "plague, ascension and return", leaving the archeologists pondering if what they did was die out, leave the planet in pursuit of zetans or returning to their home dimension.
Near the bottom you can find a journal and the skeletal remains of the archeologist who studied the ruins, on last pages he speaks of discovering at the very bottom of the ruins a machine which the deep elves used to read unknown knowledge and that how he is about to use it.
Then records about seeing too far and being seen himself, about an entity calling for him and his knowledge and its servants coming to get him soon, with the archeologist deciding to take his own life rather than letting himself be taken away by some eldritch abominations.
