Just 2 more weeks until Pubg loses its entire player base
Just 2 more weeks until Pubg loses its entire player base
Is PUBG really threatening lawsuit?
I like how the dipshit who made this image can't even spell
But the battle royale mode comes out in 3 days.
#1 it won't surpass pubg
#2 pubg can't sue, you can't own the rights to gameplay mechanics
#3 the name fortine battle royale is too goofy for anyone to play
Good thing, I almost bought into the PUBG meme. Time to get a copy of Fortnite.
Won't really play it until my Outlander bae is in.
Fortnite has some really good designs. I hope they don't abandon the PvE
"Considering"
>fortine
>PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS is fine
nah they're just considering their suicide for now
>TPP only
>you can't own game mechanics
You actually can. Atari has jipped us out of minigames during loading screens for over 20 years now.
Kinda reminds me of loadout, hope it fares better.
>BAD THINGS ABOUT THING I DON'T LIKE
vs
>GOOD THINGS ABOUT THING I LIKE
That's now how this works.
Retarded meme. F2P is virgin. Sony players are anti social virgins. Fun art style is virgin.
>Atari has jipped us out of minigames during loading screens for over 20 years now
1. That was Namco, not Atari
2. Yes it was up for a long time but the patent ran out more than a year ago.
Well it's mostly
>safe and optimal thing
vs
>retarded and fun thing
The image in the OP is retarded because it's just a comparison between the two games and isn't funny at all.
>reeee people aren't using my maymays correctly
>you can't own the rights to gameplay mechanics
gamespot.com
Fortnite isn't F2P, and is so shitty that the /vg/ thread died inside a week
But OP's image is not funny is any sense, what's the point then?
t. playerunknown
ITT: triggered PUBabbies
Hoenstly, Fornite BR looks like it could be fun. I love PUBG, but wouldn't mind something different. I'm just worried because you need a ton of players per match, and not being on Steam is gonna hurt this game's playerbase.
PUBG can't sue for a lot more reasons than that.
Even with their sales. Tencent would fucking drag them through the system for them DARING to attempt a lawsuit
The marketing is real
Didn't Bluehole make Tera?
Do you actually think loading screens are game mechanics? Are you stupid?
Forgot to add
>still in beta
>TRIGGERED
>that was Namco, not Atari
shit
>Yes it was up for a long time but the patent ran out more than a year ago.
My point still stands that it's very legal, although scummy, to copyright mechanics. You can take a mechanic and do something creative with it, like with Mario 64's platforming Banjo-Kazooie, but something like Final Combat would get ripped apart in court if it wasn't a chink game.
its not
>HURR DURR OUR MECHANICS
They're afraid that Epic will develop features and then not pass on those features to Bluehole even though they have licensed the unreal engine from Epic and despite ongoing technical cooperation.
They are afraid that Epic will steal code from Bluehole through the engineering cooperation.
They object to the fact that Epic implied Bluehole's knowledge and support of Fortnite, even though Bluehole only learned of Fortnite through the press.
niggered
...
>it won't surpass
Considering it will be FREE to everyone, you may have to eat those words, cause F2P is a lot more appealing than $30.
>abandon
user, they stopped caring about the game (PvE now) years ago. While there were myriad major problems prior, the Llama system was the final nail in the coffin.
TFW first Legendary is Pathfinder Jess and all I play is Constructor. First Epic Constructor from the same Super Hero Llama was Guardian Bull.
First Legendary Constructor, from a random Llama, was ALSO Guardian Bull.
Then I got BASE Hype and I stopped being quite so salty.
>collect coins during minigame in loading screen
>you can use them to buy gear
Boom I made it a game mechanic. Eat shit nerd.
Raging Blast 1 retard
Man, I hate when corporations threats lawsuits. Of Fortnite don't back down, I will surely go for it.
>pubg can't sue, you can't own the rights to gameplay mechanics
Didn't Sega sue someone once because they ripped off crazy taxi
Too bad fortnite is even worse than pubg. Other than that gimmicky base building nonsense which doesn't make sense with shrinking circles it has no redeeming qualities.
Epic is pretty garbage though.
I thought they were behind Unreal Tournament, but then why is the shooting in Fortnite so universally terrible? They already killed actual Fortnite with their terrible "pay to progress" model and RNG weapons/traps/characters/allies. They killed Paragon by making a dota game where 90% of the items in the shop are locked behind RNG and progression gates so you can play for 200 hours and get beaten by players who are just more lucky than you.
>Fortnite
They literally don't have to even bat an eye.
Fortnite is owned by Epic Games, which is a subsidiary of TENCENT.
>even worse
No, not really. The two are almost identical except for the fact that you have the option to tear down your enemy's camping spot, no drivable vehicles (yet), and you can build walls and shit. The two play out almost identically as well with only differences being the choices one has to deal with others is slightly higher. And the out-of-match fact that you won't get banned cause you killed a Streamer or honked out Mary Had a Little Lamb while a Streamer was within hearing distance.
>be an autistic Roblox child
>learn some lua so I can make a Roblox version of my favorite game
>Playerunknown sues my parents
>financially crippled for the rest of my life
download link for fortnite battle royal?
>PUBG: I'll file a lawsuit!
>Epic Games: I'll revoke your UE4 license
What even is the point of the base building? In all the gameplay videos I've seen, the zombies ignore all the shit that gets built anyway and make a beeline for the wall nearest their target.
What's the fucking point of building a maze of traps if they're just going to walk around it?
> And the out-of-match fact that you won't get banned cause you killed a Streamer or honked out Mary Had a Little Lamb while a Streamer was within hearing distance.
fake news
>The two play out almost identically
lmao
I'm not replying to that.
t. PUBaby
>Epic is allowed to rip off any game made on UE4 and remove that game's license when they try to sue
Regardless of Fortnite ripping off PUBG or not, you're retarded if you think that's possible.
love this shit lol
Dunno, people tend to forget that fortnite is a garbage game just so they can shit on pubg.
its funny how fast this meme lost its meaning
Remember the 2013 trailer that made the game look actually new and exciting
...
...
It's just cycles, man. Virgin v Chad was always going to end up in the hands of people who can't meme and get run into the ground. Let's be thankful for the great moments we had and move on.
REMINDER
i remember when the original virgin walk was actually supposed to be serious, too many people don't realize the chad thing was a huge piss take and is just supposed to be the extreme
Then the DayZ Devs should sue PUBG devs for taking their game mechanics.
Fact is, the Creators of the Manga and Movie should sue PUBG for taking their story to be used as a videogame mechanics.
Atari only took out minigames because they already had tons of old arcade games they wanted to use in modern games. Almost all minigames devs could think of are in someway similar to old Atari games.
Also
Well it can be remade into anything because how of how many comparisons you can do. I guess it's one of the more better recent memes since it has a better purpose compared to that "elf on a shelf" bullshit.
The base game is not, but the battle royale mode will be FREE and playable without the base game.
yea nowadays its just virgin = bad things, chad = good things.
Think of it like this
>Pubg threatens to shoot you.
>Epic points his gun at himself, explaining that if he dies, pubg dies with him.
Seriously doubt fortnite will gain alot of players if epic insists on using their own launcher, put that shit on gog or steam already.
The base game is going F2P next year.
Is PUBG the most desired nu-Tortanic on Sup Forums?
>Just 2 more weeks until Pubg loses its entire player base
Lmao..
Fortnite gunplay is ass, everything else looks great like its style and the building, but holy fuck it was not meant to be a PVP game.
>gamespot.com
And all of these you could easily bypass provided you don't follow the content of the patent to a T.
Xbox 360 achievements are patented, and Nintendo holds the patent for Sanity systems, and you see achievements and sanity meters -everywhere-.
I would try fortnite if I had any interest in PUBG.
I say this as someone who games only on Ps4, Vita, and Switch.
As it stands, I won't try Fortnite at all because of the gameplay style and the artstyle is ugly
redpill me on battle royal, why did the devs behind PUBG threaten them?
wow what an oldfag.
dont screencap your own post, retard
The problem is that many don't understand the pathing AI. They opt for the fastest route. If you want them to slalom through your obstacle course, you need to either heavily reinforce the parts you don't want them going to and/or make the path of least resistance a straight line with no barricades. They don't account for traps. A tile reinforcement method called "Slant Stacking" is starting to pick up in popularity a bit now that people realized Pyramids are a stupid idea (cause the Pyramid idea was based off a bug from ALPHA). Slant Stacking being a method of stacking as much shit onto each tile you want to defend as possible. Stacking these around the path you want them to take and your outer perimeter means Husks will probably take the path you want them to unless it's on the other side of your BASE.
This, plus the building system isn't really useful or practical. They should have just made an entirely new IP.
...
A friendly reminder that PU has outright contradicted himself on their Report system, having claimed it is both manually done (which is reasonable given the average 24 hour wait time for people to get banned for doing bad shit) and later claimed that their system automatically detected wrongful behavior and doled out bans accordingly.
because theyre stupid? "playerunknown" is some brazilian ideaguy and the game is being coded by a group of koreans.
First it was because they felt Fortnite was "trying to replicate the PUBG experience" (aka plagiarism), and less than 24 hours after they backpedalled and say that it's because they feel that it's wrong that since they pay licenses to Epic Games to use Unreal Engine 4 that they could just copy one of their game modes, but they cover it with this accusation that Fortnite used their name in their promotional material... which is literally this:
epicgames.com
>Yeah, we made a PvP mode for Fortnite. We love Battle Royale games like PUBG and thought Fortnite would make a great foundation for our own version.
Which they seem to think is illegal because reasons?
This is Betha, she is a healthy woman who is very excited to see you playing her game! She's also very happy about her body!
Say something nice about her!
Its definitely practical, you can make a sniper tower with two staircases in it to peek out. Taking down one of them is really risky, outside of just firing a rocket at it.
Both are supposed to be extremes and simultaneously display positives and negatuves
Who gives a shit lol. They never banned for honking that's the quintessence here.
I'm in the beta right now and you can't select your character which sucks, not to mention you're only limited to the soldier class so you can't play as THICC constructor. All they would have to do is make running speeds the same across all the classes along with hitboxes
>Who gives a shit that they BLATANTLY LIED
>Just because they lied about that doesn't mean they lied about this!
fat fuck
I like how big your hips are.
/r9k/ here
What the FUCK have you fags done to our meme?!?!
Her name is Penny
wheres the general on /vg ?
cant find it anywhere
So Epic actually knows what they are doing and Bluehole is worried that they are easily going to get surpassed?
>they pay licenses to Epic Games to use Unreal Engine 4
Wait holy shit Epic Games are the guys who made the Unreal Engine? Oh that's hilarious, Bluehole should be worried
the fact that asians can't code will never cease to amaze me
Yeah they sued EA over Simpsons Road Rage because it used a Crazy Taxi-like arrow and the fact that pedestrians dive out the way when being driven over.
It doesn't belong to you anymore
It belongs to the world.
fat thot
What did he mean by this?
That's because they had a patent on that type of directional system, if PUBG doesn't have that they're fucked.
My personal theory is that Player Unknown himself is a faggot that thinks the genre belongs to him. His lawyers know deep down they don't really have a case (a lawsuit would lead to disaster), so in everyone's best interest, just "threaten" to, and the PR guys spin it into "considering a lawsuit" for additional exposure.
>Hey guys thanks for spending hundreds on our PvE game and waiting years for it to come out unfinished, here's a huge PvP update for no other reason than to cash in on the bandwagon
and yet PU is the bad guy
gimme a break Sup Forums
It died a while back. Most of its dedicated users use the Fortnite Discord now.
