mechs are pointless in real life. tracked and wheeled vehicles are cheaper and easier to build, and are more mechanically reliable. Plus they don't provide a giant profile to shoot at.

Gundams look cooler. I don't give a shit about realism.

All mechs are beautiful

>bipedal
>weighs hundreds of tons
Nah.

this is how i like my mechs

>screencapping your own posts
>Talks about gundam like all gundam is post gundam wing gundam.

don't mind me, I'm just autonomously walking through these mountainous regions escorting humans through terrain only passable by humanoid.

> Madcat: 75 tons
> "weighs hundreds of tons"

What grade did you drop out in?

Cute doggo

most plausible walking combat mech design coming through

Except that doesn't weigh 35-100 tons and it isn't as tall as a small office building

Sorry, but the Koreans are already working on it.
youtube.com/watch?v=7rgFtkMiXms

who nova or cauldrenborn masterrace?

So why didn't nature make us wheeled instead of with legs? Checkmate retard

I like giant flying anime girls
fuck you

Yet.

>cute korean mech pilots will be a real thing someday soon

WINKY FACE

DELET THIS IMMEDIATELY

Battletech weighs are all made up bullshit, anyway.
They're tiny and weigh much more than they have any right to. They also lack a way to enter the mech for the pilot. Their cockpits couldn't fit a human inside. Et cetera.

I'm unsure of this. If you want your mecha to feel even remotely realistic hands are a big fucking no no. However, legs are also pretty fucking rough and still demand immense effort to get working for even light robots. Mecha look fucking cool at times but were only really designed that way to fight censorship initially, since they're always just robot people with varying degrees of goofiness/coolness. Mechs in Mechwarrior, Chrome Hounds and Steel Batallion all work off the logic that a walking tank has zero need for gripping appendages when you can fit more gun in there.

battletech only has like 3 good designs. The rest is fucking trash.

>fighting on the ground

>suit is not only so tight, but the material is so thin you can see her fucking clitoral hood
>can't see her nips

How come Heavy Gear 2 managed to figure out melee in a mech sim but Mechwarrior still hasn't after almost a decade and a half?

they also still function even if they lose mobility

mech loses a leg, its done.

I want the Grizzly to step on me

an essential mech gaming device...

>What is getting up and continuing combat while in a sitting position
>What is continuing combat in prone position
Also, if you told your instructor that you'd aim for the legs, you'd get slapped so hard across the face you'd lose a tooth. You aim for the center of fucking mass.

>mech
it's an alien with robo augs

canonically, yes, but technically a valid mech design (or form factor).

I think all gundams have skirt armor.

Gundam fuccbois BTFO, NO hopes of ever recovering!

...

The MechAssault games were some of my favorites on that system. Great times, except that awful altrock track they used in the second MechAssault.

user, I'm not in the mood to explain how retarded you are in detail today. If you think it's a good idea to hit a moving target hundreds of meters away on the legs instead of center of mass, you should never even enlist.

Looks like shit. Only Japan knows how to do realistic looking mechs.

I don't like most gundam-style designs but mechwarrior never had anything good either.

A true connoisseur of mecha loves them in all forms.

>Those spindly upper legs
I fucking doubt the servos in those things can either hold up the mech's weigh or lift the legs. Terrible design.

...

big guns

>real life
Into the trash it goes.

Wouldn't an armored skirt be more realistic? I mean the joints are the most vulnerable parts, wouldn't you want them to be protected, especially the ones that sit just below center of mass?

This is a Champion. Say something nice!
also post favorite mech

>bought by google
>thrown away by google just 4 years later
lol @ bigdog

Yes, OP is a retard.

Disgusting. Looks like some kind of shelf space for anime girl figurines. Real men pilot hardware like pic related.

>Clan mechs
Imao at your life

This is Ronin, a.k.a. best titan.

>Realistic looking
>fuckhuge cannon so high above the COG and asymmetrically mounted
>exposed joints
>rocked pods installation creating massive blind spots
>can't fire / see anything that's not directly in front of it

yeah, nah you are a weeabbo faggot

>being a sphere shill

Nice try, (((inner merchant))).

>mobility kill a tank
>sits there and shoots at you
>mobility kill a mech
>falls on its stupid fucking face and lays there in the mud
Lets not even get into the downsides of making something thats 1-2 stories tall and expecting to be able to make efficient use of cover and concealment.

haha imagine if she farted in that thing haha it'd probably stink for a good while haha

...

>Muh sword
Ronin is dogshit compared to Tone, the actual best titan

mechs were fun in BF2142

thats a battle tank with legs not a mech
mechs are exclusive robot version of anime girls

>downsides of making something thats 1-2 stories tall and expecting to be able to make efficient use of cover and concealment.
It's not hard to walk/crouch behind a building in a 20ft tall mech at all. They're not fucking mountains.

As soon as I don't need some psychic slav to stand, you guys are fucked.

>piece of the track is visible between two plates of the skirt.
L-lewd

>He's a Toneshitter
Nice shield faggot, watch my arc wave make it disappear. Everyone hates your trany-voice-acted titan.

i thought you were joking

are you aware of what IED's are, or landmines

Ronin is the anti-tone Titan though

>even remotely realistic hands are a big fucking no no
Why? Wouldn't hands make for much more modularity and make switching loadouts for different missions and operations much more convenient, not even requiring a full base?

I always thought mechs make some sense in sci-fi settings where there are effectively infinite resources, but a shortage of actual humans.

>are you aware of what IED's are, or landmines
Oh you mean those things that are usually designed to destroy any sort of land-based armored vehicle, not just mechs? Yeah, I do.
This point is moot. Next?

It still hurts
youtube.com/watch?v=VDNoVOnT9pQ

do you really think a building would be effective cover? Outside of a support beam or two it's pretty fucking soft cover.

>Uses tone

I bet you fucking hitscan too [F3] and or [RDDT]

Battletech was literally based off of Japanese mecha designs until copyright issues.

That's why there are still large walking humanoi robots like Atlas in the Mechwarrior games.

>do you really think a building would be effective cover?
Yes? It still stops/slows down/fragments shells. If they weren't, you wouldn't see armored vehicles taking cover behind them in urban environments.

Doesn't matter if you aim at the center. Shots are more likely to hit legs on a mech than treads on a tank.

iirc, some people are trying to remake it

>Tone
My man. The 40mm and the missiles are too useful to pass up. The shield and the sonar is great as well. Only problem is lack of burst damage, but that's a common lack.

Who power armor here? mechs are for shitters.

most tank shells go through a building without a problem

>bipedal desing standing up or even sitting from lying flat without having a flexible spine

Want to know why I know that you know absolute jack shit about kinematics?

Before you start anything here, do consider that in a real combat situation, neither the mech nor the tank would be in an open field, not taking any cover as if it were an arena fight of some sort. Modern combat almost never happens in such places anymore, but in cities and forests (coincidentally both environments where tanks suck at due to mobility limitations and not being able to turn their turrets without bumping into something).

a couple layers of plywood isn't going to stop shit

Mecha only ever made any sense in the context of being used in space or low gravity environments, interestingly that was the original context for both Gundam and Battletech.

just realized that striders fire from their dicks

Why do people even like battletech? The combat isn't "realistic", and the mechs don't even look good for Western designs.

FUCK OFF TANKFAGS

>Armored vehicles in urban enviroments
Let me guess, arab?

those look exactly like the mechs from Avatar

Silly gearhead, Mechwarrior is for tabletop.

The mech is going have a much hard time taking cover regardless.

IIRC it can't walk unassisted and was never intended for anything beyond a publicity stunt.

I doubt a building will make a KEP ineffective. The problems is knowing where to aim though.

for fucks sake it was cool and they just go full retard with the revolver spinning. you are in a mech in an intense combat scenario. why the fuck are you doing flashy shit that will get you killed?

Gundams were designed for space combat. The humanoid shape is to more efficiently move around in space by shifting weight. The mobile suits were originally put into battle to fight space carriers.

Please get your facts right.

>post Mech Warrior complaining about Gundam
>most of the original Mech Warrior mechs are just taken from Macross
How can you be so retarded?

>legs this thin for something this huge
>three legs, ever
this is bait I hope

>imagine doing this power up sequence getting ready to go REK degenerates
>mfw

It must be what it's like to power up a Dodge Challenger.

>tfw my aim is so bad I can never hit these little shits in MWLL

Earthsiege had some pretty fun semi-realistic mech action.

You're assuming a properly designed mech wouldn't have a flexible spine, which it fucking will.

Buildings are a lot more resilient than you think they are. They have multiple layers of concrete walls, you know.

Truly, anime/gundamfags are the fedora tippers of subhumanity.

Tribes was infinitely better
