Do i play as chad daddy Corvo or roasty Emily?

Do i play as chad daddy Corvo or roasty Emily?

Low Chaos Emily is the canon choice
High Chaos Corvo is the fun non-canon way

but women can't do things.

Play Cory and tell the magic man you don't need wizard shit. Proceed to play the game as Dark Messiah.

more games need the mighty boot and spikes on every wall

>low chaos emily is the canon choice
Then why did it feel like the low chaos/ghost routes were so neglected in this game

How so?

im gonna play emily even though she's a scrub who doesn't have blink.

It just felt like on a lot of levels the stealthy nonlethal route was an afterthought. Really annoyed me that I had to fight some of the clockwork soldiers because I hadn't prepared for combat in my playthrough

I don't remember you having to fight any of the clockwork soldiers.

Right after you see jindosh for the first time you have to fight the first 2 iirc and then the other ones are pretty difficult to sneak past

You don't have to do that, you know? In the first room before you flip the switch there are some windows on the ceiling you can break with the crossbow and Far Reach/Blink your way up. You progress through the level without Jindosh ever knowing you were there.

>women can't do things
this
omg so much this

Played Corvo as a dickass thief. Trying to do low chaos Emily looks like a chore with her power set.

The game accommodates stealth, you just have to look a lot harder than in the first game. It sometimes feels like the game goes out of its way to avoid spoonfeeding routs and paths.

Didn't know about that actually. Still feels to me like they pushed combat a lot more, especially with the way they fucked with the stealth and enemies vision

If you played the first game already then emily is a nicer change of pace, although they're both basically the same when it comes down to it. The plot doesn't divert at all and characters generally treat you the same

Reguardless of story, Corvo's powers are a bit more powerful and emily's powers are a lot more balanced. Far reach doesn't break the game/trivialise it nearly as much as blink does, for example.

It's very possible to deal with them without being seen, especially if you use powers.

Also, clockwork soldiers are a lot less perceptive than you'd think. They have very tight cones of vision

They improved on the combat, but I don't think they pushed it as much as you're suggesting. I don't know what you mean by fucked enemy vision, though. In my opinion, everything felt quite fair and ordinary.

Yuck these character models

>Trying to do low chaos Emily looks like a chore with her power set.
How so? Between Mesmerize and Domino, should be plenty of options to put everyone to sleep.
Far Reach can be pretty useful too, but its not quite as easy to use as Blink.

Stealth and non-lethal gameplay in d2 is just as, or even more effective as high chaos/lethality, what game have you been playing

I feel like corvos powers are a bit more experimental and "sandbox-ey" like stopping and fucking with time, possessing people, instantly teleporting, whereas Emily's abilities are more "practical" like mesmerize and domino that specifically focuses on a group of enemies

playing as edgy Emily was pretty fun.

>Rape doesn't allow a woman to monetize her pussy.

her shadow walk makes her completely invisible.

Welcome to Dishonored

>roasty
I've literally never read an intelligent post by someone who used this word

Yeah, Emily's specifically target enemies quite directly while Corvo's makes something happen that can have a million uses.
Bend Time and Domino both fill the same role of letting you instantly deal with however many enemies without any of them being alerted, but Corvo's version lets you do anything you want however you want, while domino just directly takes out the enemies

Posession and shadow walk fill the same role of letting you sneak somewhere, as well as going through vents, but possession lets you turn into anyone you want depending on where you are and put them somewhere, while Shadow Walk just turns you into the same thing every time.

With the exception of wind blast and mesmerise (which work fairly differently) all their powers fill the same roles.

Emily, I played Dishonored 1 twice through so I couldn't handle playing Corvo again.

They removed vision cones and replaced them with something more like the new hitman game. Makes enemies detect you when they shouldn't and really bothered me, it's pretty noticeable on the highest difficulty

did they think "oh it's the sequel so we need to quadruple the amount of documents and books lying around".

Nigga if i was reading this shit as i found it the game would be 4x longer.

What's the new system? I didn't realise.

I initially played it on the hardest difficulty as Emily for a ghost/clean hands play-through and I can't say that I ever encountered such issues. Either I'm mis-remembering or I'm just ignoring said flaws for the sake of my argument. I don't want to just go and say "hurr, works on my machine," because that would be irrelevant. I do, however, remember seeing vision cones, but I get a feeling they were a lot wider and see further than what they used to.

Is it impossible to enter the security room that moves the vault without waking up the guy on the microphone?

The lore of the games is awesome. I read every word.

If anything, Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider disappointed me a bit in that they re-use a lot of the same books, both from the previous games and within themselves. I've seen the same book on the void like 5 times.

I was trying to find somewhere on Google that mentioned it but I couldn't
I think explained it well though, they had wider FOV's and I feel like it was easier to be spotted by them

Anyone?

>"Let's take an already established franchise with a perfectly fine protag and shoehorn a new female protag in to the sequel!"

Fuck any developer that does this, I loved Dishonored 2 but seriously, it was a slap to the face to find out Corvo has all the exact same powers and you have to play as Emily to use the new ones. And don't give me any of that newgame+ shit, I know you can use her powers as Corvo after beating the game.

Lesbians can't be roasties.

The new female provides a chance to change up the powers, just like the dlc with daud in 1 and Billie in 2. In fact you play as 4 different characters in the franchise you pathetic retard

I played as Emily first, it felt like it made more sense and the new powers were fun.

I tried Corvo on second playthrough but found it too weird that Corvo is wearing a ladies ring and he has such feminine hands because they use the same model.

I just wish there was an option to turn off the voiced characters

>they use the same model
They don't.

Not only that but the emotional crux of corvos story clearly ended in the first , he was shoehorned in just to placate people like Sup Forumsirgins who simply can't bring themselves to play as women

They are supposed to look ugly.

>Dishonored 1 focuses on 2 male protagonists with actual good story arcs
>Dishonored 2 focuses on 2 female protagonists with absolute shit story arcs

Admit it, the only reason Emily and Billie were chosen for 2 was because they are 'strong independent women'. Why would they not have been able to give Corvo the new powers in 2 if they kept him as the main? I wouldn't give a shit if they let you play as Emily as long as they didn't lock her powers to her for the first playthrough and I got to use them as Corvo

I know about the hagpearl trick in the bank, but is there any way to enter the security zone without waking the guy up?

>just to placate people like Sup Forumsirgins who simply can't bring themselves to play as women

This should be the other way around you god damn idiot, and the fact that you think they couldn't have continued Corvo's story with young Emily instead of the classic sequel trope of 'going 20 years into the future woooaaaahhh!!!' If it was a new franchise I wouldn't care but don't take an already existing one and fuck up the story just so you can fulfill your fantasy of playing as a woman

>High Chaos Corvo is the fun non-canon
It is canon, read the book/comics. Only stealthfags in denial would say such a thing.

It's incredibly obvious Emily is the main character and Corvo was shoehorned in. So it's pretty funny of you to make the opposite assessment.

>Dishonored 1 had good story arcs

As a series Dishonored's greatest strength is is gameplay, atmosphere, and lore the story has always been shit.

>Smol princess is just as skilled as corvo for reasons and can walk around without a mask and no one recognizes her.

C A N O N

You are beyond fucking retarded, that's what I'm complaining about. The story in 2 was fucking shit because they made Emily the main character, it would have been better if they just stuck to Corvo in the original timeline instead of going 20 years further just to fucking play as a girl

She's always wearing a mask you fool

>391254263
hey look a lesbo roasto

Actually, the story in 2 was shit because they brought Corvo or Emily back as well as Delilah. The story would have been equally shit if Emily wasn't there. No, in fact, it would have been worse.

>dishonored 1
>good story
daud was literally it and it was character, not plot and it wasnt original. also
>admit it
no, billie and emily are daughters of the two protagonists who were well established beforehand, it was perfectly fine to use them on a thematic level. they weren't the problem with their stories

He wasn't really high chaos. He just wasn't a pacifist or a shadow.

1 had a great story, what was the problem with it? It gave you actual motivation to continue with each mission whereas 2 is just a giant clusterfuck and makes no sense

>"Roasty?"
>googles it
>A black female; this is derived from the girls vagina looking like a roast beef.
>look at picture
>Emily is so pale I didn't realize it was her skin and not a mask at first

What?

a little neckefchief isn't a mask and then theres the fact she's wearing the nicest most royal clothing there is.

HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REDDIT!

I also thought it was bullshit that Delilah was the main villain , they shouldn't have brought her back. But if they brought back Corvo trying to protect young Emily from people he fucked with in the first game, that would've been infinitely better than the story we got in 2

>try to electrocute jindosh
>game freaks out and doesn't let me check the quest mark, even tho he was electrocuted
>no idea if the game will glitch out and i will encounter him later or something because the game doesn't have the flag checked or something
FUCK

Wrong

Story started out generic and just became stupid. The conspirators decide to turn on Corvo whose been able to kill hundreds of people, they don't even kill him just knock him out when he's completely defenseless. The game also never acknowledges that Corvo found proof the Minister started the rat plague which would have legitimized everything the conspiracy was doing.

Billie is the daughter of Daud? What the fuck are you talking about? And no, going into the future and playing as the 'daughters of the original hero' is a million times more clique than anything in 1. You people have the shittiest opinions on videogames and it's why most recent ones have been generic garbage, ESPECIALLY when it comes to stories

Beat it kid

>DUDE I DONT UNDERSTAND ADOPTION OR METAPHORS LMAO

this

I don't read comics but I dropped this game after intro cutscene in which Corvo killed ~2 guards. In my head Corvo was a pacifist.

If you think 1's story was generic and 2 wasn't then you are fucked
Billie tried to kill Daud in 1's dlc, if it really turned out that she is his adopted daughter in 2 then that's even more hilariously retarded then I could've ever imagined

If you played Dishonored, then the only choice is Emily since she has different skills and Corvo doesn't

I didn't say it was original you fucking retard, learn to read. I even said it wasn't a good story.

There's nothing original about dishonored's plot no matter how you slice it

also
>billie is the daughter of daud

>raised her from a child
>took her off the streets
she even says that he's basically a father.

I hope this is just good bait

I never said 2's story wasn't generic, all the Dishonored games and DLCs have stupid stories, but it's irrelevant because it's a videogame that does everything else well.

Women love rape actually. why would they be so pro immigration otherwise?

>billie tried to kill daud in 1's dlc
>if it really turned out that she is his adopted daughter
are you okay? how can you remember one part about a character and not the other from the same fucking scene?

Well then it's just a difference in opinion like it usually is on this fucking site, I liked the story and playing as Corvo in 1 and was pissed when they put him aside to play as his daughter in 2 for some reason. But in your eyes it's somehow better because you get to play as a woman, I do not get you people

Him raising her on the streets doesn't make her his daughter you fuck, if anything he is her mentor and that makes her story arc in 2 seem even dumber

STOP ANSWERING TO BAIT AND ANSWER ME INSTEAD PLEASE

>they put him aside to play as his daughter

What are you talking about? If you want to play as Corvo you're given the option to, nothing is forcing you to play as Emily.

>liking the story of the original dishonored
what story?

>oh yeah save this little girl
>ok
>okay here's 10 more contracts
>now drink this poison
>oh no! you didnt die
>the end

>being literal

>to adoptive
>accept responsibility for the maintenance of

he is still a father-figure/adoptive father you can play retard all night for all i care but this is the last (you) (you) get

For the 3rd time, they locked all the new powers behind her character unless you beat the game. I don't want to play through a sequel 1 whole time using all the powers from the first game just to get the new ones in a new game+ where you're overpowered as hell. And it's obvious Corvo was added into 2 later just so people didn't rage that Emily was the only playable character. Little did they know it would still be fucked
This is probably the most retarded interpretation of Dishonored 1's story I've ever seen. You're typed out, watered down version isn't even close to how the game's story actually plays out. You could actually apply that better to 2's story than 1, there was literally no reason or motivation to progress through the missions in that game other than the same fucking reason from 1, to save your relative. How can you people shit on 1's story while defending 2's?

Calling me a retard doesn't change the fact that 2 has a god awful story compared to 1

>I want Corvo to have new powers, even though nobody has ever gotten new powers and I don't want the new character that does have new powers because they are female

You really are a fucking idiot.

2 is barely worse.

>pretending 1 had a good story at all

>playing dishonored for the stories
fuck off before i call the tard wrangler

>To have new upgrades in a sequel to a videogame focused on powers, you have to introduce a new protagonist!

You really are a fucking idiot.

I can only imagine why that is user

>2's shit story is fine because 1 was already not that good!

You fuckers don't deserve to even play videogames

>my shit smells slightly less worse than yours so you need to appreciate my shit for its smell

Look, man. I agree with you that Dishonored 2's story was shitty and could have been way better.
I just completely refuse to accept the premise that it would have been better if you just took Emily out. Not true. Not in a million years.

>DUDE DISHONORED 1 IS SO AMAZEBALLZ BECAUSE OF THE MATHMATICAL STORY!!!!!! DISHONORED 2 SUCKS BECAUSE THE STORY ISNT AS GOOD!!@@!@!@!!@#@!!1! I CANT WAIT FOR THE REBLOGS!
>i care about gameplay
>YOU DONT DESERVE TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES :'(

My whole point is that 2 would've had a better chance at not sucking ass in the story department if they kept the ORIGINAL FUCKING PROTAG. I don't give a shit if it's a female or not for the new character, I just don't like it when sequels fuck with already perfectly fine characters. This is like if you played as Alyx instead of Gordon in Half Life 2, yet you faggots would still defend that because you'd get to fulfill your fantasy of playing as a woman

Agree to disagree
>Playing as a woman apparently means better gameplay

Go fuck yourself

I liked Dishonored 1's story.

Does this game have the best sword-based melee combat of all games?

He didn't even spell it right, in the way its used here
