Why didn't you ever tell me this is actually good Sup Forums? Now I'm kind of salty because it would be impossible to discuss without nazis getting mad and shitting up the thread. Is the Old Blood worth buying

Anyway, Old Blood is great if you enjoyed New Order's gameplay. It's a little harder, mostly because it assumes you've already played New Order, and you don't have the laserkraftwerk to rely on.

It's a bit like a retelling of Return to Castle Wolfenstein as a story set between '09 and New Order, except that Return to Castle Wolfenstein is still canon and BJ directly refers to it in the first chapter. Kind of a sendoff to the supernatural stuff that permeated the series since Wolf 3D.

This game is shit and it isn't because you're killing nazis. False fucking prophet of "old school" FPS, same bullet spongy, cover shooter, scripted bullshit every other modern game is. Don't even get me started on the stealth bullshit or the OP throwing knife. NuDoom is 10000x the game this heaping pile is.

This character isn't meant to be likable though.

It was alright, but personally I didn't like all the downtime spent in the hideout. Also the PC port was awful.

Sequel looks much better though

On harder difficulties the game becomes like every other shooter, since enemies become bullet sponges who are super accurate with their hitscan weapons.

personally I didn't like The Old Blood as much, for some reason I found elements of it to be more repetitive.

It's not Doom but it's much better than a Call of Duty campaign. It's on the same level as Titanfall 2.

Reminder that the Nazis in Wolfenstein are actual Nazis and are not supposed to represent the right wing or the alt-right.

If you have Nvidia you should be fine. AMD and OpenGL don't play well together. That is why AMD pushed Mantle and now Vulkan so hard.

Just because it's not fucking Doom with 3D models doesn't mean it's bad.

It does everything it wants to do well, and there's nothing wrong with reconciling more modern sentiments with things like a consistent armory and segmented health with appropriate pickups.

The stealth is also consistently optional.

I did. Repeatedly. Glad you finally listened. Of course, I can see why you might have ignored me, considering I'm unironically a Bethesda fanboy and absolutely love everything they put out, up to and including Fallout 4. I also have some fond nostalgia for the original Wolf3D. Even if the new game ends up being more of the same, I'm going to be totally fine with it.

I agree, I bought it on sale and i was surprised by how fun it was. I beat the game twice with both characters you had to save. I'll probably buy the new wolfenstein because the advertising is pretty decent.

Nope, ain't no brakes on my Bethesda love train. Even with the changes they made to the core gameplay, I still enjoyed it immensely. About the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the settlement stuff, which I really felt could have been done better and made a lot less tedious. Thankfully, you don't have to invest much time into it, and if they ever use it again they'll hopefully get it a little better. It probably helps that I fucking loved both FO3 and NV, and I happened to grow up in New England.

Well I actually have fonder memories of Wolf 3D and Spear of Destiny than Doom, but Fallout 4 is shit.

Yeah, that's what everyone said, at least around here. After putting roughly 100 hours into the game, I remembered times when I stopped and asked myself when the fun was supposed to stop. When am I going to run into the dreaded anti-fun that some reviews, and the vast majority of Sup Forums, were convinced was there? Needless to say, I didn't. I guess if you don't like it, that's cool. Not every game is for everybody.

Same thing goes for the new Wolf games.
