Misaka best girl.

I don't know what a Misaka is, but I do know that I've gotta find someone's throat to stuff my hot steaming double lasers down.
It's probably gonna be a Fei-Yen or Cypher pilot because they're bitches.

Additionally Virtual On is having a crossover with Senko no Ronde 2, which is basically 2D Virtual On with slightly more bullet hell.

So overall good news for Virtual On fans it seems.

I knew that game looked a bit Virtual On-ish. God damn, it's about time we got vindicated after the sour note that MARZ left everybody on.
GET READY

An HD remaster of Virtua On is also appearing in Yakuza Kiwami 2

my dick can only get so hard, pls

HOLY FUCK, SERIOUSLY?!

0:55

youtube.com/watch?v=o6IC9rTEdpI

Please make a season 3. I want to see Touma beat the shit out of more girls.

>this is real

holy shit. Feels great man. Who the fuck are these anime characters though?

Go watch it, you'll have a fun time, especially when Accelerator shows up.

It's a Dengeki visual novel called A Certain Magical Index that did a crossover with VO at some point, and it's played as a sport in-universe or something. I only know because I looked that up after hearing about this game.
But fuck that, I'm here for the cocaine gundams.

I don't remember touma being harem shit.

S3 WHEN?!!!!!!!!????

>Virtua On is also appearing in Yakuza Kiwami 2
holy shit you guys weren't kidding Yakuza has everything in it

He's always been a harem master.

so what? VO only lived on because of some random shitty anime VN? I guess otakus did something right for once. Thank god. Looks great.

Right off the bat he had Index and Misaka after his dick.

Also more gameplay if you're curious. Godawful player but it shows off some of the basic physics. Dash speed actually seems slightly faster than oratan, and they seem to keep a little momentum too. Lets you do some cool vaguely Tribes-esque shit from the looks of it. Overall pacing seems between the first game and Oratan, i.e. way faster than Force or MARZ (thank fucking god).
youtu.be/eo_scbGr7TM?t=1399

Any port in a storm I say. And to be fair, any general anime you can barf up probably has better story than MARZ, ignoring Takenobu Mitsuyoshi in an Apharmd. RIP Hatter.

>YOU'VE GOT INDEX IN MY VIRTUAL-ON!
>YOU'VE GOT VIRTUAL-ON IN MY INDEX!

I'm okay with this.

Unless we start getting shit like Love Live/Sakura Wars crossovers, then you can fuck right off.

Probably because it has been so fucking long since I watched it.

So, 0% release chance in English as usual sega? I wonder if there will be some additional miku cross-over.

It's Sega, you never know what the fuck they will localize.

...

...

I guess if it's any comfort they don't have as many copyright issues as Gundam Vs. does. That and Sega put the first three games (OM, OT, Force) on XBLA as well, so there's hope. The VN crossover makes it less certain though, that shit won't sell over here at all.
With any luck SBF will do a Friday Night Fights on it so they can stop shitting on the series because they decided to play MARZ and judge the whole series for it.

Wait so can you actually kill each other or will it keep the sportsshit theme the whole game?

...

Why does it look worse than the original?

It's not a VN. It's primarily an LN series with anime adaptations and 6 different manga. It's by no means obscure in the west.

...

Here's your Fei-Yen pilot.

>no one in this thread is old enough to have played at the arcade

THIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCC

Knockdowns and hits seems to score points at least. My best guess (outside of trying to fit in lorewise I guess) is that Oratan matches with competent players end in timeouts all the fucking time so they wanted to change it so it's about how much damage you can slam into the other guy before time runs out, which kind of makes more sense.
Also little-known fact, Oratan (probably OM/Force as well) is one of the only games I've seen where character health is not static, but completely matchup-specific. Like, the game actually gives you a different max health value depending on your opponent, even for mirror matchups. Damage values are constant outside of the underwater stage though.

I'm the OP and I played the fuck out of this in the arcade as a kid, that's how I found out about the games at all. I absolutely am old enough.

Can Touma just punch the robot?

>misaka
it's Mikoto, spotted the railgunfag

I remember it in the old mall arcade specifically because the only open cabinet I could play on back then was the broken one where the right lever's fire button didn't work.

Just because some of the robots have skirts doesn't make them women.

What I'm worried about is who in their right mind thought putting Accelerator in a giant robot would be a good idea?

Year of Sega hype has no breaks.

>Unless we start getting shit like Love Live/Sakura Wars crossovers

that would be awesome

>VIRTUAL ON IS BACK
fuckin based

>MOE SHIT EVERYWHERE
goddamn it

Kids always abused the shit out of those sticks. It's even worse if they figured out how jump canceling works because it's sticks out -> sticks in. Which to most kids means to jam them like you're trying to rip a pinata open.
Right trigger dead is a huge fucking problem though, that's like losing your normals and supers in a normal fighter. Especially if you're Raiden or something, the pizza bomb is barely a fucking weapon.

The nearby Golfland used to have that, but they're fucking incompetent and gave it up after only a few years. One of the most nostalgic arcade games for me. They also used to have IIDX but gave that up even quicker. I hate the state of modern American arcades.

Enjoy moe then shitlord

>best girl in angelan
like pottery

...

I got one of those cool pay-once-everything-free-play arcades nearby, I'm tempted to submit a request to the management to get a Virtual On machine since they seem to cycle games fairly often and keep machines in good repair out of necessity, including their pinball machines. Even better if they grabbed Oratan or even Gundam EX Vs somehow.

At least it's a Virtual-On game.
youtube.com/watch?v=T9qH0Fu2pmo

Moeshit sells. Plot never really mattered in Virtual On anyways so who cares.

Thank moe for this game even existing

I had the PC version.

I was skeptical about the inclusion of Index and was actually expecting some free to play gacha shit or a non-3D combat type game. Glad to see that the crossover generally doesn't have an impact on gameplay and it's mostly just for a gimmicky setting. In fact as a fan of the Dreamcast games and not really any of the later ones, this gameplay looks very pleasing. I'll consider this not a part of the monkey's paw timeline. Though its guaranteed to be filled with overpriced Sega DLC.

Man, I need a Virtual On fix so bad that I'm willing to put up with obnoxious, shrieking schoolgirls. I survived the shitty controller setup that Activision imposed on the American Dreamcast release of Oratorio Tangram, you better believe I'll suffer for this too.

It's actually an almost-perfect port. The only "downside" outside of some minor lighting differences was that it only ran on high-end computers without issues at the time. Which ended up better in retrospect because it doesn't look like barf like the Saturn version.

>index
>vn
lmao @ u its an ln

>anime child
dropped

I'm in the same boat. I'm just happy that it's completely VO gameplay-wise and that it doesn't seem to play like Virtual On "Raiden has 3-second windup on laser and the game's forced 2v2 because why not" Force.

>anime not titled naruto
>not obscure
Yeah, totally. With tendency game released in English for Asia ver, translation is more possible hopefully.

It looks smooth as fuck on PC. Tons of configuration options as well. I only wish other Sega arcade ports on PC like HOTD 1 and 2 were anywhere near as configurable.

It's actually a light novel series, not a VN. Light novels are literally just books.

Just coming through with the best song.
youtube.com/watch?v=ArF8lrby8xY

I hope they bring back their arcade cabinets.

I want to hear Biribiri's sexual screams

BE RIGHT BACK FINISHING MY PLAYTHROUGH OF YAKUZA 1 GETTING MY PS2 OUT OF THE CLOSET AS WE SPEAK

Makes me wonder if she's got her usual shorts under that skirt.

>Light novels are literally just shitty books.
You forgot a word. Don't worry; I put it back.

u know it

they're for children.

The odds are probably nonexistant but I would love it if punished sniper-chan made it into the game.

>normies sperging out over Japanese X-men

Is it still summer?

It was at this skating rink for me. The only reason I ever wanted to go there.
now here I am trying to get it to work on my pc and nothing

who care...
birdway best girl

I know nothing about this series but that chick would totally pilot a Dordray or Grys-Vok if she was in this game based on how she looks.

Yakuza 6 has arcade version of Virtua Fighter 5 and Yakuza 5 has Virtua Fighter 2 with online support.

I actually made a pre-set-up Sega Model 2 emulator for the arcade version. It's not perfect emulation, but the game plays fine. Controls are set up for 360 controller, but G and H need to be assigned to triggers via Joy2Key. Otherwise, right and left stick are your arcade sticks, RT/LT are weapons once assigned in Joy2Key, RB/LB are dash button, back is credit, start is start. Enjoy!

You should at least pretend you read one once you little shit.

Why do normalfags write like retards like this?

Same guy again. PC version's basically arcade-perfect. Pretty sure ArcadeStriker's legit, he's got a Youtube channel where he uploads VO stuff, but I'm gonna scan this with Malwarebytes and test it. I'll be back with results.
thearcadestriker.wixsite.com/arcadecollection/cybertroopers-virtual-on

>always locked and facing opponent

it aint virtual on unless you can only turn by jumping

>Get a chance to make a new Virtua On
>Make it attached to a dead franchise

I will never not be fucking mad. A legit HD Virtua On has so much potential to be legitimately good, but they just grabbed old shit, including movesets, and reskinned it in a kusoge coat.

Thanks for fucking nothing, SEGA. Virtua On should be the type of game showing up on EVO and making ARMS seem like fucking trash in comparison.

This game will be trash. Mark my words. It'll probably be broken to hell and back with little to no balance to the point it'll make the OG arcade game look like fucking SF3 in comparison.

lol at EOPs who will never ever get to play this

Well, if it's any consolation, I'm a programmer and making my own clone of VOOT is near the top of my bucket list. If this game ends up sucking it'll be all the more motivation for me to do that.

>dead franchise
>LN is still going strong
>6 (six) different manga series
>potential third season announcement coming soon
If anything was dead it was Virtual-On. Keep crying those bitch tears, the rest of us will be enjoying the game.

You don't really need to know Jap to enjoy Virtual On. Unless you're here for the Shitdex crossover.

>Needing language to play a fucking arcade game
I'm lmaoing at your life

user you have that backwards. Much as I love VO, lets not pretend it was alive and well before it got attached to this massive LN shit.

>I don't play VO the post

The only person who gives a fuck about this anime shit story is you. You don't need to be able to read moon to play this shit. Go back to reading you shitty visual novels.

Just checked and installed. Safe and works perfectly, just make sure you run _inmm238.exe in the game's directory after you install it or else the music won't work. In-game, just make sure you set game speed from fast to smooth in graphics options, and click 1/1 in alt -> debug -> motion even if it's already checked, should set it to 60FPS.

Oh and word of warning, on modern computers it crashes if you lose as anyone other than Fei Yen

So either get good and never lose or play Fei Yen

lol at EOPs that won't ever enjoy the Raildex crossover story

The modded version fixes this as long as you run it from VIRTUALON.exe and not V_ON.exe. You still need both files, just run it from the former. Just tested it on my own version. Give that a shot. Even if you have the original game, it has problems on modern system that the mod fixes, that included.

>giving a fuck about Faildex
It's low brow shonenshit.

Oh cool, didn't know there was a community patch/mod for it

Time to dig out the disc for it

So how the hell do I run this without it crunching my screen resolution?

it's an LN, am I the only one who doesn't know what Virtua On is but have watched index?

will she teleport?

it hasn't had an anime in a while, 8 years ago you woudn't have been able to browse the site without coming across it

I don't blame you, Virtual-On hasn't had a single good game in almost 20 years. It's not relevant by any means.
