Was this the worst TGS ever?

>No DMC5
>No important announcements
>Sagas that seems to be dead
>Minecraft japanese dub trailer

PSX conference is next, r-right? Is where Dante and others are waiting

Dante and Mega Man just had their sequels come out this tuesday.
You won't be seeing them for quite some time again.

I'm just gonna stop hoping now, if you don't mind.

I didn't even pay any attention to it tbqh. Just assumed it was going to be a disappointment like most of them are and planned on reading the highlights, but I haven't even done that yet

What the fuck did you expect? The JP industry is crumbling as more and more mobage post record profits and every dev switches to what seems like an unending cash cow.

Asians seem fucking hardwired to waste all their money on mobage shit. While you hear horror stories of pathetic losers wasting 10k on candy crush in a month in the west, that's business as fucking usual for Asia, they're all whales with too much money and no expenses, and no time to play games. So they blow all their money on F2P mobage they can veg out in front of on the train to work.

It's serious business in Japan, every other ad is for another mobage running some weebshit promotion. This month you can play othello with fucking Death Note characters.

Each year I think that the current state of games can't get any worse, and it always amazes me by doing just that. Next gen is going to be legendary

>implying TGS is over

Until now, we've basically been solely supported by Japan after the entire western market died in 07. Now they're dying off too, it's a bad fucking time to be into games.

The sole light at the end of the tunnel is proper VR, but I think we're a long way off, in terms of both basic infrastructure, hardware, and development. With even Moore's law falling apart, and more effort than ever going into shitty ARM processors and "cloud" computing, it seems like a pipe dream.

I see the future of gaming being nothing but mobile titles and PC indies. Sony, and especially Microsoft, have effectively destroyed the home console. A video game console used to be a magic box that instantly played games with so much ease that anybody could understand it. I don't know what the fuck they are now. If consoles do continue, I look for them to have streaming only services for playing games. Pretty sure Square Enix just mentioned something about this as well

On a positive note I'm happy about Umihara Kawase coming back.

>MUH DMC5

lay it off god fuck damn it

>2017 has had the most good game releases in a decade
>bad time to play videogames

Whole thing might as well been a MHWorld game show.

The games were good but the industry itself is a fucking mess. We used to have years like this all the time too, so we'll see if 2018 can continue the trend or if it was a fluke

A half-decent Zelda is "the most good game releases" in a decade now?

Considering we had three bad ones in a row, yeah.

>botw is better than twilight princess and windwaker
shit nigga if you were trying to trigger someone you succeeded. enjoy your (You)

Throw enough shit at a wall, eventually something has to stick. It still had a lot of flaws, replacing dungeons and puzzles with a hundred completely optional ones with 1 puzzle each isn't good game design.

what dream world do you live in. the last 2 call of duty games alone made over 3 billion dollars in DLC virtual cash.

the industry isn't going to collapse overnight, if people weren't buying the DLC and season passes they wouldn't still be making them and we would have moved on to $70-$100 games by now.

Umihara a cute. I love her fashion sense and seeming huggability. I would eat her sushi any day.

You aren't helping things any by using CoD and DLC/season passes as an example

Personally I mostly like her gameplay

what you are mad about is they don't make the type of games you like anymore, and the industry has just decided simply not to cater to customers like you, either because you can't be satisfied with their offerings or don't buy games to begin with.

I certainly buy games, but you're right. They don't make games that cater to people like me anymore. Everything is undeniably more online multiplayer focused and people are clearly okay with DLC/season passes so they're here to stay

Umihara's gameplay is harder than any man's dick could ever be looking at her scrumptious hoodie-wrapped chest, and that's really saying something.

Im still trying to wrap my head around Sonic and Hooters.

What the fuck is wrong with you to be wanting DMC5 from the current Capcom?

Are you a masochist?

Why the fuck do people expect shit to happen at fucking TGS? Literally nothing ever gets announced at any TGS that's of serious important value because they only give a fuck about things that are only big in Japan. If the series is popular anywhere else in the world in addition to Japan, it's more valuable to announce it at another event.

I really don't understand gamers. All they want is another one of what they like regardless of the quality. It's like they can't live if there's not a Game Another One. Why can't people just enjoy what they have.

Yeah, that was probably the best announcement of TGS.

Probably because we know Itsuno is working on something currently and people are looking forward to it as well as hoping it would be DMC5 or DD2. Asswipes.

There was an opinion piece on Forbes saying that this year was not much more better due to a high number of mobile games, high number of ps2 remakes, and relatively low number of new interesting games.
