It's less about trying to sell a Japanese game and it's more about finding people who truly love video games. I've told plenty of people who actually play video games regularly about the awesome games I've played, and they've, most of the time, given them a chance.

I got a friend into Berseria, and another into Rabi Ribi. Both games with "questionable anime designs" that are still incredible games with solid gameplay. People are just scared of being judged and outcasted, I imagine. For some reason, admitting that you liked a game that had anime girls in skimpy outfits in it is a sin.
