Is it just me, or did I finish Nier:Automata too quickly? Quick note, I achieved all of the main endings.
Maybe it's because I used chapter select and made it too easy to achieve said endings. Fuck me, I always ruin things for myself.

Have you done sidequests?
Probably not enough of them - in the future, I'll be plunging in from the very start and doing all the side quests I can. Maybe it's the pressure of exams that's getting me to rush through things faster than usual.
I got endings A - E in 51 hours. Did most, if not all of the side quests
27 hours in and only have 2 side endings and none of the big 5.
I hope i get up to 51 hours cause that seems a good amount of time for a game
Took me 47 hours 20 minutes while doing most sidequests.
Finished route A at around 24h.
40 hours with A-E endings and 40/60 side-quests. I should finish those missing side-quests later.
But sidequest are better than the main quest in automata ? Just think about Amnesia.
OP here, finished endings A-E within 35 hours - from what I've read, I clearly haven't done enough.
I bet it's not the only thing you finish quickly.
I played for 99+ hours to get all main endings. But I grinded for chips, done all the side quests and tried to do everything I can without looking anything up.
Had to look up a few things anyway though, like Emil's house
>99+ hours
that's a bit extreme imo
I'm the guy who did 51. I did try to level up all my weapons, and I generally play slower than most people, so that could've added multiple hours on. Messed around with Fishing a bit too
I was hyped for that game ever since it was announced in 2015. Just running around looking at different environments was enjoyable for me.
Thank god that 2D is superior
A-Z, 60 hours
I have a one alternate ending because I died on the ""tutorial""
Are all alternate endings like that? A small flavour text?
I don't want to look it up and spoil myself.
yes
Endings A-E are legit
The rest are joke endings with little text as you say, and you get them mostly by being retarded
yeah, my chores are done in a timely manner as well.
>want to do all sidequests I could when I had the option to do them
>spend 45 fucking minutes killing that robo dojo quests
>father servo lvl 60
>me lvl 30
that was my reaction trying to race that gotta go fast faggot
I had a few problems with that fucker as well, the last one where you had to race him to the building.
you sound like a cultured gentleman
>tfw I got the fish ending
>tfw I thought I would just boot back up in a spare body like every other time
>tfw I hadn't saved in over an hour
>can't win the second race cause he is always half a second faster
Kill me
If you're having trouble with the second one, just wait until the third. We won't have to kill you because you'll do it yourself
What is the catch? i always go fast with the evade run but still don't stand a chance
You have to get those movement speed chips if you realistically want to do it without pulling your fucking hair out
just do it as 9S bro
hacking is such bullshit
Finished the game ages ago. Didn't look anything up beforehand so I was laying in to him with 2B for an eternity. Was thinking "why the fuck is this game so hard?" but then, obviously when I played further and found OP chips the combat became a joke.
Never thought about that. wew, thanks
>chips
Since you can spam evade you are more or less untouchable. I only die to massive mobs when they attack me from a blind spot or a bullethell fuckup.
>he doesn't has his speed capped out at all times
Yeah, but if you want to maximize your damage output, chips are a must. Since you go through the same areas so fucking often and need to farm certain items for sidequests, it makes it less tedious.
>Want to do all the sidequests as they become available
>Parade escort shows up
>An hour and a half later I give up on it
>Keep trying and failing when I come across it
Eventually I put it off until post game so I could finish it at level 80 out of spite.
Honestly that ending is there to troll you, they made it look that eating the fish would activate a sidequest
the quest was supposed to be done as 9S
>ending E was supposed to be some great feeling of camaraderie
>spend over an hour trying to do the bullet hell thing solo
>felt patronized every time the game asked if I wanted help
Just ended up being pissed off. I realised after that it's almost impossible alone, but you don't know that at the time.
Nah I'm more of a deadly/offensive Heal and anit chain damage guy.
fair point. But walking slow makes me play longer.
>tfw played the game on easy with auto-chips
Man, that shit annoyed the fuck out of me. Finally did it with 1 dude left with an inch of health.
It's one of the endings I still haven't got
At what chapter does Whatshername ask me to come by to taste fish?
>fair point. But walking slow makes me play longer.
Didn't you have different setups to switch on the fly? Like when farming I'd switch to one of mine that had high movement, high drop rate and high damage
>feel like ive fished a lot at every possible spot
>fishing encyclopedia 60%
Not him but I finished the main endings on Normal while only using one setup
that quest was really fun at the right level, it was hectic and fast paced. I think the combat really shines when you have to crowd control, I had to use almost every pod programs equipped and a bunch of charge attacks to make sure every enemy was away from the friendly ones and kill them while gravity was active.
too bad that was the only time the combat got that fun.
>doing the sidequest where you have to escort the kid late-game instead of early
Nope. Didn't have to grind at this point. I'm not finished and just cleared the Forest Kingdom
Always on full battle mode so I don't die because I thought I have certain chips activated when they are not.
Not sure. It became available to me after I beat Jackass' first experiment.
Ugggh, that quest was bullshit. I almost got the kid home too.
Well if you intend to do sidequests, having different setups really helps. Especially that one where you have to have filled your enemy encyclopaedia by 95% or some bullshit like that and certain enemies are rare spawns in very specific chapters. What a load of bollocks.
You can catch the fish and eat it by yourself
You guys did kill the secret boss, right? You did kill Emil, right?
Wait, eating ANY fish will kill you? What a bunch of fuckin' clowns over at Squeenix
I didn't, he killed himself
It's not necessary but side quests can give A LOT of context to things happening in the main game.
One of the quests gives context to 2B's true name making the reveal much better and less out of blue.
Another thing was the quest for Jackass that gives information that combat for androids is like sex.
Overall you should do as many side quests as possible as they give you more depth and all are connected in some way to the main story.
I dunno. How many hours did you spend? I used 92 hours in total. That's all endings, all sidequests, all achivements and some colosseum
Is the DLC worth almost 20 bucks?
wow
he let himself forget he isn't human
why didn't the machines use fish bullets?
Depends, do you think a few costumes and 3 arenas are worth 20 bucks?
I mean, I enjoyed it. The extra costumes were fun to have while doing other shit, and the higher levels arena does pose a hard as fuck challenge if you're into that.
It also has an extra sidequest that I thought were decent.
Too stupid, never done by humans, not in any of raison d' etres, too low amounts... etcetc
damn, wasn't expecting a serious answer
kudos user
I bought a 9s cosplay, maybe now I'll be able to find a girlfriend.
>watch DSP play this
>he finishes ending A and puts the game down
I mean, it's DSP, but still
why did they roll the credits there anyway?
Tradition? Theming?
theming?
I'm a little past the point where you unlock fast travel.
Why? Why does this game not grab me like the first Nier, or Drakengard 3, or even LITERALLY DRAKENGARD 1? WHY DOES IT FEEL SO SOULLESS AND DERIVATIVE? SHOULD I JUST COMMIT COMPLETELY AND REFUSE TO STOP PLAYING UNTIL IT GETS INTERESTING?
>credits roll
>game isn't even nearly finished
>get a new opening after going back to the main menu
This is why I loved Solatorobo and Nier.
it gets good after two endings
Same experience. If I remember right I spent like 30 minutes whittling down his HP when I was level 30 something and he was level 50.
The first Nier gets good less than halfway through the game on the path to the first ending, so....??? I'm hoping you're kidding around about this actually being a valid, representative statement regarding the game experience. Nier always kept me interested in spite of its combat. Automata's combat is derivative and mashy, in no way some next level iteration on Nier's. Except it also seems to lack the charm the first game had.
I really hope I'm wrong in my appraisal of Automata, to be honest.
shut the fuck up you filthy casual who can't understand yoko taro's genius it's supposed to be that way can't you see that everything's pointless
>The first Nier gets good less than halfway through
"less than halfway through" is more than reaching A ending in Automta
>Game straight up tells you "we're not done here idiot"
>People still stop at A
then how about not rolling the credits? are the devs retarded??
>pls play more we swear it's different
...
I get you're being satirical but the irony is that I enjoyed all of the previous titles and thought the complaints about them were all very overblown. Nier Automata is the only one I can't get into.
so what, route A is deceptively short or something and I should just go hard on it with the best hopes?
I could see a lot of complaints with this game but soulless isn't one of them. The game was clearly a labor of love
well user that's because you're a bonafide Sup Forums grade contrarian
What are you, retarded?
how?
it has very brief moments that feel like the moments from previous games in how they're genuine and charming but for the most part it feels sterile and uninteresting, mass produced like the dolls themselves (WOW, I GET IT NOW, BRAVO TARO)
>I'm too dumb to understand unlockable routes and alternate endings
No user, you are the retarded one.
Automatafags please leave. You don't belong on this board.
Being this retarded
took me 50 hours
sidequest shit matters in this game tho
Maybe you're a manlet in empathy and you just can't sympathize with a pair of professional protagonists.
Maybe you should play the rest of the game before you make that clame
>oh fuck I can't defend this dumb design choice
>noooo I must not let them criticise my nippon overlords
What design choice are you talking about? The lack of your vague and subjective "charm" which you've yet to explain? You're pretty shit at this.
>a sophisticated gentleman such as I appreciate the finer details in misunderstood form of art
>but I simply cannot comprehend the praise that this new product that is essentially the same as the ones that I like have garnered
literally all they had to do was call them Chapters instead of """Endings""" so that casuals wouldn't think that other endings are just fluff, as far as they're concerned they have already finished the game
ending A didn't resolve jack shit why is it even called an ending
You really are retarded though. They even put in a message for retards like you.
Retards don't deserve the full experience.
>hurr ad hominem
automatafags everyone
literally the only good time to discuss this game was during the initial japanese release when you fags haven't played it, now it's gone to shit
If you played the first Nier or any other Drakengard beforehand like a logical person then you would realize the credits don't indicate the end
>mom he called me names wah
instead of bitching here like a 12 years old imbecile you could actually either play the fucking game or drop it and move on to other things
That's not an adhom. It doesn't mean that somebody called you a name. You're retarded.
