It's time to stop shilling this trash game, nostalgiafag

...

So, is Morrowind Online still going?

*wahoo!*

demwaifus.blogspot.com/search/label/Oblivion

I've already played my yearly session, got to level 13something before I dropped it again.

I go straight to the thieves guild

yes but theres nothing to do because its morrowind

mfw only played this game as an GUTS body slut in bikini armor

Easily the best TES for being a their

*Thief

>tfw every playthrough i just did the dark brotherhood and thief guild quests then kill everything i see never finishing any story

What's an OP build in oblivion anons?

100% aegis
stealth archer
stealth warrior
stealth mage
any form of stacking magic
any form of overpowered custom spells
purposly staying at level 1 while only leveling combat skills

Stealth archery is OP in vanilla oblivion & skyrim for different reasons.

>Oblivion
Enemies are arrow sponges, but once you have high sneak/chameleon you can go undetected right infront of them

>skyrim
The stealth part is slightly less effective, but arrows are generally much more effective/stronger than in oblivion

I play the main questline.

>Spend two weeks modding it to high heaven
>Play for a few hours then uninstall

That's the rookie mistake. You only get the essentials, an overhaul or two and then you just start playing.

The combat in all Elder Scrolls games is very boring and dull, and I don't want to play them for that reason. I always drop them several hours in when I simply need to fight often to proceed.

You could really be a burglar in Oblivion, and even rake in cash
The way the Thieves Guild worked just made it so great for that

>download OOO/MOO
>adds a shitload of items, wealthier housies now have finer cloth, actual silverware and great shit to sell
It's almost a shame how easy it is to burglarize in Oblivion

Not even taking the guild into account, being a thief was just plain fun in oblivion. The larger houses, more varied loot, plus a big part of it was the NPC schedules. In skyrim, NPCs just have a bare bones schedule that repeated every 24 hours, which makes things predictable. In oblivion, the schedules were much longer and more varied, so you had to be careful when breaking into someone's house as it wasn't as easy to assume their whereabouts.

IIRC as long as the bedroom was a separate cell (as most IC houses were) you didn't even need to sneak in their houses
And as soon as you learned the lockpicking game it was way too easy to get every single valuable thing
Still, it was fun to do

OOO was great for being a thief. All those hand place items based on specific NPCs so it was the kind of loot they'd have.

That's the thing, you don't need to sneak inside their houses at all; NPCs are seldomly in their homes so as long as you can lockpick their door without being seen (piss easy due to a mix of sneak being too good and there being too few guards/NPCs on the streets) then you can literally just flail around like a retard in their home and steal everything that isn't nailed down.

I used a real time lock picking mod that replaced the minigame.

It made picking locks chance based, based on your skill, but you did it in real time. So each time you tried to pick a lock, the rest of the world would still be doing their thing around you instead of freezing.

It made burglary MUCH more fun, you constantly had to be on a look out as a guard or NPC could walk around the corner at anytime and catch you in the act. So much better than the minigame imo.

How would you solve this issue?
Some suggestions for a future burglary game:

>most homes have a dog/someone home
>frequent guard patrols
>making noise alerts neighbors or whatever
>you can steal a lot, but can only carry a bit
>you can steal a lot, but can only sell a bit to select merchants

Is nostalgia for an 11 year old game really as bad as remaking a 6 year old one, Todd?

What mods do you use? Best ones?

>tfw you spend 3 hours trying to get all your mods to work together, but then it just crashes as soon as you start a new game

It's such a comfy game. But the gameplay still weirds me out being the weird half step between Morrowind and Skyrim that it is.

mage with custom spells is the only real overpowered build and capable of 6x enemy hp and 1/6 damage on hardest difficulty setting. you build the spell chain to absorb willpower and weaken against a school, then nuke. stealth archery is weak, melee is weaker still.

Homes should rarely be empty. They should have a housewife, kids, grandparent, dog or whatever that's present nearly all the time. Burglary should be more about staking out houses and finding out when they are vulnerable, not just breaking&entering anywhere between 6AM-24PM when the NPCs aren't at home.

...

>no breasts

Fail.

Wait a sec, I saw that post years ago somewhere else. Anontalk or something like that?

Or maybe all the trash should be called some generic item name, so you need to stalk people and listen, or take contracts, to realize that the vase on the left side of the trophy hanging above the fireplace is very, very expensive.
As in, items shouldn't be identified by default, the player should have to gather information on what they are worth, and this combined with carrying capacity can limit your hits. Shouldn't be hard to have a mix of hand placed ones and procedurally generated.

Adding to that, you can often see if an object is worth a lot (shiny, golden, etc.) but it might just be a gold-coated chain rather than a chain made of gold, etc.

>cousin wants to play Skyrim
>only reads "elder scrolls" and hits oblivion
>appears at sewer grate
>as soon as he hits space a dozen wolves are going to run over and shove their red rockets in

That'd require an ungodly amount of work per NPC just got a burglary minigame.

nope deleted all that shit

last time i tried doing this i loaded so many mods the game kept crashing and none of my loads would work so i rage deleted everything and I bought oblivion back when people still bought the CD in the store TEE HEE no idea where it is

NEVER playing your shit game again now fuck off op

its a Sup Forums meme from like 8 years ago you disgusting new faggot

>Too pleb to mod properly
>Blames the game

Can't mod out shot gameplay, so no.

>I really want to play a good MMO, build friendships, do quests, make a unique character, start a guild, and spend time relaxing in a well designed virtual world
>See this
>Remember that MMOs suck by design and people ruin everything
The internet is the shadow, the true self.

Find some niche that you enjoy doing, they tend to have smaller and therefore more close-knit groups of people and a greater sense of community. I used to twink 60/70 on a private WotLK server and it was a ton of fun, there were just enough people for raids and daily bgs but the community was still small enough for make a name for yourself and get to know most people.

>ungodly amount of work er NPC

A video game town has 30-50 houses at best.
One intern can do these great in a month. People notice and appreciate it.
