Number of Active players in DotA 2 the lowest numbers since 2014

DotA 2 is dying

League of Legends is getting even more popular worldwide.

>do nothing but release cosmetics while refusing to improve the game
>people fucking quit

where have i seen this happen before

A new king has risen

Are the third worlders finally upgrading from their toasters?

>Le le le tortanic!! xD

Piss off cunt. It's still the most popular game on steam and it still has the biggest tournaments going on in the esports scene.

But go ahead, go pretend LoL is still relevant.

No they just go to internet cafes

>the most popular game on steam
pubg is now

>a literal meme fotm game
Fuck off. It's nothing but a casual fuckfest of a game. We're talking about popular esport games here.

league is even more dead than dota in the west, only chinese insects play it

>Release the fucking patch
>Make an actual working tutorial rather than expecting Purge to teach everyone how to play
>Support custom games
That's all Valve has to do to get it back up to where it was a few years ago. Not that they will.

false flag

PUBG is literally the most played game, check it yourself. It peaks at about double dota2 now.

>It's still the most popular game on steam

This is just flat out wrong

>league is even more dead than dota in the west, only chinese insects play it

I'm a silver player and I get 30 second queue times even at 3:00 in the morning it never dies and I'm on the NA server

played, or "played"? this is important. do many people actually play it, or is it just people sitting in the client, or chinese bots?

im in 3k mmr on dota on na server and i get 10 second queues even at 5 in the morning

Even if ALL the chinese players were bots it's still the most played. Obviously you'll now get more and more delusional with assertions with no evidence until it's below dota

It's been proven that alot of the numbers are wrong. Bluehole has been inflating the player count on steam with lots of bots running the game in idle mode.

Mobas other than when playing 5v5 whit actual team mates you know are not games about skill but simple time waster games you play for fun.
Regardless of if you think they are shit or not they are in fact fun games for when you dont feel like plying anything else but want to play a game.

In this regard lol just does everything better. You can use skills more often. Its easier to tell what is going on in a game. Characters control and are more responsive than in Dota.
Most of characters are more likable and memorable and overall more interesting (If you dont believe me compare the amount of fan art or comics or especially porn lol has to dota). Games in lol end more quickly when a team is dominating unlike dota when even when its impossible to make a comeback and win the enemy team still takes 40 minutes to end the game. Overall lol is just a more fun game.

league is garbage almost exclusively played by chinese insects

thats good 7.00 was dogshit and killed this game maybe icefrog change his shit tier HoTS and League system.

as someone who's been watching valve's dota 2 design process:

no

they will double down even harder

>It's bad because it's in HotS
Talents are objectively good, Shrines still need some tweaks though.

>Talents are objectively good

give reasoning for your objective truth

Everything is dying, including the universe.

pubg isnt

It will soon enough.

talents are shit and are so unbalanced on some heroes

People said this about Overwatch look at it now it has it's own esports League

League if dying as well thank fuck.

>Less people playing as summer comes to a close

Holy fucking shit. I think you're really on to something here - contact the President

It provides a way to finely tune slightly under or overpowered heroes that wasn't really possible previously, it also allows for more varied play styles on heroes (i.e. magic damage ember could never have been a thing before, now it's an option depending on the enemy's line-up.). What actual negatives are there other than "it's in HotS" and "I can't do my Blink->Stats->Stats->Stats build on AM anymore"? Admittedly, the stats one has some validity but it was only very rarely levelled while you had the option to level a skill.

The unbalance isn't inherent to the system, that's just the frog fucking up.

I'm personally just waiting for the next patch, I'm sick of the meta. Also I've had a lot of other single-player games to go through.

>700k+ people are playing it right now
>that number doesn't even include chinese players
>dead

lol

My issue with Dota 2's talents is that they're overall much more boring than HotS's. HotS talents either tweak existing abilities or give you new ones. Some of Dota 2's talents tweak abilities but a lot of them are boring stat, GPM, or EXP bonuses. Would prefer to see a lot more creativity, I understand it takes work but they should really put more focus on it.

...

LOWEST NUMBERS SINCE 2014

Hero of the Storms has been improving and been stealing playerbase from both Dota and LoL.

...

Talents have tipped it to the point where there is just too much shit to remember.

Literally exponential growth.

>needs more than a year for balancing talents
>some heroes are borderline broken thanks to talents others are weak as shit because talents
>lol its OK :^) mate le icefrog meme

dotards

Lol is still popular? I signed in last week and only my master friends were online. It will never hit s4 hype levels again imo.

I agree, I hope the rumours about Aghs upgrades becoming talents is true.

Where did I say it was okay? Valve needs to either get over their fear of releasing big numbered patches that don't make huge sweeping changes or they need to make the lettered patches more substantial. My point was that the talent system isn't inherently unbalanced, which is why I literally wrote that in the post.

pubg is the new big thing yea but its steam numbers also include chinese players. Pretty sure Dota2 would have more if it did as well.

...

>implying icefrog is in control anymore
I bet if you take the first letter in each line of the patch notes it spells a meassage of help

>this never happens in dota

I'm not sure about that, do you really need to remember every hero's talents? Less experienced players will use a build that remembers everything for them and more experienced players will have a decent idea of which talent is more useful in a given situation even if they've never read the hero's talents before. I guess it can fuck you over if you forget that Venge gets a talent that makes her stun pierce BKB or something similar.

Unsurprising, 7.00 killed the game.

3 years is about the limit of a multiplayer games lifespan. then all you are left with is the hardcore fanbase and poor fags.

you can keep a dead horse going with patches and flogging it with f2p but in the end its obsolete, old, uncool.

will this get Valve to buy another mod? Unlikely, they are happy taking a cut of store transactions.

this, and also the thing where magic damage scales with INT makes it hard to really do on-the-fly calculations and stuff like that

in the olden dota days, if you had 226 HP, you would know that you had just enough HP to survive a 300 damage nuke. this meant that you could take extremely risky fights and survive. it would also feed into your general game sense of when you are strong enough to tank what and so on. now all the spell damage is slightly fuzzy and random, especially with the talents throwing numbers around

dota was probably the most competitively viable game around 2013, just before the comeback mechanics were introduced. it's been a spectator sport ever since then (because valve introduced them primarily to make pro dota "more fun to watch"

even at rutgers the dota 2 club is dead with about 5 people, they cant even play full customs together, while in the league club there are multiple 10 man lobbies simultaneously going on, with people even waiting to get into one as well. the club is always packed, and its not even counting the ranked part of the club which is its own room. i dunno what people say about dota but ive never heard people talking about it while league is constantly mentioned and related clothing always worn. it isnt dying at all, thats just ridiculous.

>3 years
dota was popular like 10 years back

and even dota 2 was really released in 2011

>he thinks dota started at 2

>even dota 2 was really released in 2011

dota 2 didnt really get going until 2013

Aren't almost all the teams for Overwatch gone now, including the official Overwatch team?

>3 years is about the limit of a multiplayer games lifespan.

Please explain to me why League is still and more popular than DotA 2 right now? It's way more successful

What are people saying? It's delusional to think League is dying based on your anecdotal evidence of "my friends stopped playing so it must be dying" League is flourishing. With as many people that left, people filled it in and then some. My friends list is always active with a large amount always playing games and inviting, etc. If you want to play with people friend req people who actually stuck with the game.

part of that probably had to do with the game being in closed beta (so you have to get invited or buy it from valve rubbity rub), but I remember it being really popular off the get go

Why do you think league was made in the first place? DotA.

>it's delusional to think something based on your anecdotal evidence
>now lemme provide some anecdotal evidence to prove -MY- point

retard

Why would Valve artificially inflate its numbers via bots when it can straight up just lie about the statistics in the popularity page?

>rutgers
ofc autists at universities play and talk about league. it's the rick and morty of videogames.
