That's it
why did you waste your money OP? good job on purchasing a kids toy .
Anything from Gen 7 back 100% free, with free online, and in the case of Sm4sh you have mods.
People desperate to rationalize being an early Switch adopter will tell you the Wii U is shit.
Anything that was ported from older consoles and was ported to the Switch. Can confirm got it on release.
Nintendo's worst console since the Virtual Boy.
Mostly so I could play Wii games I have. And for the virtual console and anything newer that's good
That i have personally played and can personally recommend
>Bayonetta 2
>SM 3D World
>SM Maker
>Splatoon
>Mario Kart
>Breath of the Wild
>Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD
>Rayman Legends
>Pokken
>Fatal Frame/Project Zero 5
>Wonderful 101
>Fast Racing Neo
>Zombi U (only played it briefly actually)
>Nintendoland if you have friends and wiimotes
Also there's the Wii games rereleased through the eShop, other than normal backwards compatibility. I've been playing Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade Chronicles. Plus non-exclusive ports, I've enjoyed Arkham City and Ninja Ninja Gaiden RE (this one's kinda hit and miss tho). Obviously the possibilities augment if you mod it, as you can play more injected retro games (I've been playing Banjo Kazooie for example) and even Gamecube ones, which i haven't personally tried yet
what the fuck? you can play wii games on wii u? what about gamecube?
Super Mario 3D World
Xenoblade X
The Wonderful 101
Dong Tropical Freeze
Bayonetta 2 + 1
Mario Maker
Mario Kart 8
Breath of the Wild
Smash 4
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Pikmin 3
Splatoon
Hyrule Warriors (it is a pretty good musou)
FAST Racing Neo
Nope. You want to play GameCube games, you need a GameCube, a Wii, or an emulator. Wii U doesn't natively play them.
If you hack it, yes you can play gc games with nintendont and even use gc controllers if you have the adapter.
I think it can run gamecube if you run homebrew. I think it still has the old processor in it, but it doesn't take GameCube discs.
>system has built in Wii Virtual Console thats literally the Wii home menu
>"you can play wii games on wii u?"
You only need to hack wii mode.
Wii games got official backwards compatibility, GC doesn't, but if you mod the console you can "activate" it since the Wii U basically has a Wii inside, but i don't remember the details. I think you can only load games through USB and you need GC controllers with the converter they made for Sm4sh
Oh yeah, i forgot to add Hyrule Warriors to my list, it was fun. Unfortunately i lost my damn save
>the Wii U doesnt natively play them
youtube.com
You can play Wii discs out of the box. You can hack it to play Gamecube ISOs from an SD card, its really easy to do.
Also if you didn't know you can pirate Wii U games and install them to an HDD or system memory and do all the same shit as normal games like playing online. And finally if you want to use other controllers besides Wii U ones there's homebrew apps for using them through USB adapters or a network
...
Shit, i also forgot to mention Pikmin 3
Holy smokes, so i don't even need a GC controller or even a TV to play GC Ganges?? That's great news, does anyone know if by chance Sunshine fits on a 4gb SD card?
>that feel when went overboard once it became easy to pirate and install games
>does anyone know if by chance Sunshine fits on a 4gb SD card?
It should, I think GC discs are only like 2 GB max
I did the same fucking thing man, I even installed some Japanese learning program that's only available from the euro eShop
Thats a really recent hack that lets you launch Nintendont directly from the Wii U's menu, meaning gamepad and iff-screen play, and you dont need a wiimote at all.
Also most GameCube games were around a gig. I think Sunshine is 900mb or so
Black Ops 2
You guys just opened me a whole new world. One of the reasons i got a Wii U is that with all it's workarounds and official releases it basically is a Zelda and BING BING WAHOO machine. Feels good to be able to play these series in their entirety after being stuck with only N64 emulated games for years
Is there a link/guide you know that i can follow or should i look elsewhere?
>Buying a fucking Wii U to play your Wii games when Dolphin exists and plays them better
Ffta on virtual shop.
And I can't remember if it got advance wars, if so then try that too.
there's a guide on /hbg/ I think
Is your Wii U on 5.5.1 or 5.5.2?
could as well buy wii. you can probably get one for the price of wiimote+nunchuck which i assume one needs for dolphin. i guess you could always map the waggle and pointer stuff to keyboard or some other controller but it's pretty shit that way.
Don't Japanese know that wii means piss in English?
Do they just not care?
Not everyone has a good enough PC for it. My toaster can't even emulate PS2 properly
Plus with the Wii U you have the advantage of being able to play with the intended controllers, and just recently i realized you don't even need a TV, which can be useful sometimes
softmod it so you you can play GC and Wii on top of WiiU
google and find what you would like
I don't remember, i hacked it this January and use Haxchi to play pirated stuff
>White Wiimote
>Baby blue nunchuck
>he doesn't have a red wiimote with black nunchuk
the wii u gamepad has a built in sensor bar? mind = blown
Did you think that was a really wide camera lens?
It's just what i got. A guy sold it and another wiimote to me
No, no, see the forniture near the wall? I placed the sensor there
>there's wii games on the eshop
>still won't release n64 or GameCube games
I fucking hate nintendo. Anyone who defends this artificial scarcity bullshit should be shot
There are N64 games tho
Not him but im confused, does this thing let you literally install GCN games on the Wii U without needing Nintendont?
Oh if you already have haxchi installed then it doesn't what firmware you're on.
still need nintendont on the sd card, but the game is stored in wii u filesystem
Yeah never the ones you want though
I think i should be able to see the firmware if i turn on the thing without starting haxchi, i'll check in a few minutes
Well, that's mostly a legal matter, Nintendo doesn't own games like Banjo or Doom. But as i said in my original post you can have some of these games on the Wii U with VC injection. Some sites offer them install-ready
>Added support for GamePad Wii Remote emulation for Retail Wii games
Sorry for being retarded, but does this mean I can play gamepad classic supported wii games and gc games using wii u gamepad?
Without using wiimote?
Yes yes and I can get 1000 games on the Wii that's not the point I'm talking about not defending bad business practices that neither help the business nor the consumer and the only person benefiting is the person who owns this "rare" game because he can now sell it for more than market price.
>inb4 it's only worth what someones willing to pay for it
Wouldn't be a problem if nintendo didn't do this. Nintendo supports scalpers.
is this better?
I have no idea what eshop and VC games have to do with scalpers
Artificial scarcity, literally in my first post user.
Got it, when i don't turn on Haxchi it says my 5.5.1 E
The only answer.
Bayo2
Thats about it
bayo 2
Smash 4
Super Mario 3D World
Luigi U
Super Mario Maker
Mario Kart 8 locally (Deluxe's changes are negligible and honestly mostly for the worst in race mode)
Captain Toad
Dong Freeze
Yoshi's Wooly World
Formerly I'd have said to get Splatoon but so much of the game was online and only a shitload of japanese people and cheaters still play iirc
Pikmin 3
Breath of the Wild
If you like Zelda's or Musou's Hyrule Warriors is several hundred hours worth of content.
The 2 Zelda remakes have vastly improved control schemes with gyro aiming and touchscreen inventory management.
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Wonderful 101
Bayonetta 2
Tokyo Mirage Session #FE
FAST Racing Neo (Downloadable)
Runbow (Downloadable)
Affordable Space Adventures (Downloadable)
Pushmo World (Downloadable)
3 gens of backwards compatibility (You just have to hack to play GC games on the vWii and its not taking real discs)
You can play the entire Nintendo backcatalog besides the 3DS on the thing.
There's also a surprising amount of indie support on the eshop.
>WiiU doesn't natively play them
But that's wrong.
>What is local multiplayer
I'm not lugging my fucking tower to my friends house. I bring the WiiU over and its got me covered on all our favorite multiplayer titles
>Questionable shit like Devils Third, Game and Wario SF0 and Color Splash
>When you could replace them with #TMS, Rodea, Star Fox Guard, and Lego City Undercover
>All actually good games
Come on now
