>Nintendo goes through the entire 3DS and WiiU lifespan not implementing waggle because they know the vast majority of people never bought single game for their Wii past launch year entirely because of waggle and their shit tier controller
>Have the self control to make no waggle games
>Introduce gyro aiming which is a much more sensible implementation of motion controls and actually really fantastic for making console aiming bearable
>Switch comes along
>It comes with two vaguely Wiimote shaped controllers with gyro in them
>Nintendo literally lacks the self control and starts throwing waggle into every fucking game
>ARMS
>Splatoon 2 lets you use two joycons like you would a wiimote and nunchuk
>Mario Odyssey has waggle, waggle being mandatory for some of the transformations
>12 Switch
How does it feel knowing that WiiU ports and third party stuff like Kingdom Battle and Octopath are going to be the only releases entirely free of wagglan that this piece of shit "hybrid" is getting?
Nintendo goes through the entire 3DS and WiiU lifespan not implementing waggle because they know the vast majority of...
tldr
I don't care, don't see how it's any different than a single command being mapped to a button.
I was never so fat that I my shakes were too ambiguous for the hardware to know if I had moved or not.
Switch is going full waggle because the joycons can support it and Nintendo lacks the self control to not put waggle in despite its tendency to alienate the fuck out of literally everyone
Shaking is objectively less fast and accurate than a button.
NEVER bind an input to motion controls that can be more easily achieved by just fucking pressing a button.
Literally all those games except 1, 2 Switch can be played without waggle, boom, done. 2/10 Shitpost
...
>Mario Odyssey has waggle, waggle being mandatory for some of the transformations
You literally have no evidence that there isn't a different prompt for those on the pro controller/etc.
>Mario Odyssey has waggle, waggle being mandatory for some of the transformations
Odyssey's waggle is optional for most everything, the latest preview event they showed the press peeps some of the inputs like 360 stick spin and b to do the hat spin etc.
The only one they seem to have left as waggle only is the single shake controls, once where you just have to give it a quick jerk in a direction.
how can people complain about motion controls when they led to the greatest game ever made?
So just shake sooner, if your reflexes aren't good enough that's a lack of skill. The milliseconds of difference is negligible in most games that implement this, like platformers.
If it was a fighting game it would be a valid argument.
Its a valid argument for ANY game you shiteater. It's objectively less effective and objectively feels worse to control.
There is zero reason EVER that you should have a straight fucking button input bound to motion controls.
Arms is a great use of motion controls though.
>Arms is a great use of motion controls though.
AHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA
>objectively feels
I understand you have a strong opinion and new things scare you but at least try and make sense.
There's no reason to be upset.
OP you're completely right but the Nintendo shiteaters on Sup Forums will never admit it
>OP damage control
This was probably one of the only games where I liked the motion controls, but even then only for the wrestling moves. Representing Travis' cell phone with the wii remote was fucking genius though.
This
ARMS' motion controls are not only miles above the Wii in how responsive they are, they're also 100% optional.
Pretty much every game with "waggle" stops having it when you're playing with any controller setup besides holding the joycons like a wiimote and nunchuk. And who does that for anything besides ARMS?
IP counter went up dumbass.
>ARMS' motion controls are not only miles above the Wii in how responsive they are
What the fuck does ARMS even do with motion controls that even sucks its dick so hard for? You know that "tilt to move" shit was in Super Mario Galaxy ball rolling levels right? It isn't anything new.
No it didn't
Yes it did.
Oh no! Options! I hate being able to pick how to play a game! Splatoon should get rid of the gyro controls, because I'm such a shitter I play all my shooters with controllers and am incapable of playing them in any way but with slowass joysticks and I hate the idea of others playing the game in a way I'm incapable of doing.
your typing style makes you sound like a homosexual.
They know how to use waggle properly now though. in Arms they use it perfectly because doing the action correlates to the exact action of your character instead of waggling to jump or something. That's when waggle is bad.
If Mario Odyssey uses waggle to like release a captured object or something then that is a fine use of the waggle because it's an action that results in the same action on screen.
But none of those games use waggle, so no he's not right, it's literal lies.
>in Arms they use it perfectly because doing the action correlates to the exact action of your character instead of waggling to jump or something
So just because of that it means its automatically good? Swinging the sword in Zelda SS was pretty much a perfect example of what you're saying and its motion controls are one of the worst parts of the game.
Well it's a boxing game, so you box. Twist to curve punches, tilt to move etc. It's also generally a lot more responsive than the Wii was.
It's not exactly new and innotivative, kind of just like wii boxing with more flavor, but it's fun.
I also like the character designs a lot but that's unrelated to the motion controls. Kid Cobra is cool.
This thread is gay. And I know gay because I fucking love dick.
Arms does
>It's also generally a lot more responsive than the Wii was.
no it isn't
The motion controls in ARMS work properly, is the difference
true, this thread reminded me how gay I am for Travis Touchdown
What does that even mean? Be more specific.
>never played Skyward Sword
The motion controls were one of the best parts about the game. The parts that sucked included the empty sky, boring overworld, easy puzzles, hand holding, Fi never shutting up, and shield durability.
Your motion movements correspond to the character's movement in game dynamically, included direction and rotation.
This is opposed to wagglan, which is just a normal move being binded to any motion detection.
So its Wii motion plus?
nuh uh
The new Virtual-On would have been cool to play on the Switch with the joycons as arcade sticks, to revive the arcade experience
Basically, yeah.
Which was great, too bad only like three games used it properly.
>I'm such a fatshit that I can't flick my wrist the post
The only thing that waggle was bad for in Skyward Sword was swimming and flying the bird. It used it properly everywhere else and was one of the few Wii games to really use it properly.
At least those times don't come up very often. You can swim with the control stick on a horizontal plane leaving the motion controls for when you need to change height, and the sky sections were incredibly infrequent anyway.
Well its a good thing they map the waggle control to a button. Have you even played Arms? Post a timestamp of your Switch or shut the fuck up.
I only ever used it for SS which was meh and Nintendo Land which was fun but not fleshed out enough imo
Yeah even then it wasn't so bad. There was just better ways it could've been implemented.
