shaky camera and swinging light is now considered technology?
...
>not joining the fear circlejerk
You must be a reddit user. Their taste in video games isn't as good as ours. Fear is the single most technologically impressive game of all time. Even though corridor shooters fucking suck and no one who revisits the game ever plays through the entire thing.
...
Rockstar has GOAT attention to detail and technology when they're not jewing
It's a shame little details are becoming a dying art.

Echo is shit glad I didnt pay for this garbage
Good artstyle though

You're impressed by IK?
Melting ice cubes algorithm
...
this has been around since gta 4
...
...
What game?
>grenade goes off
>lamp is intact
T E C H N O L O G Y
Fear still looks good.
>Doesn't effect the floor or walls at all
Asses aren't technology.
Dogshit is
>Side of the very containers that are melting are unaffected
I wouldn't really call that technology since its not dynamic
Cause its made out of material that can withstand high temperatures
feels like im being kicked in the face repeatedly
...
>No one will ever use Geomod again
Such a shame no one can get destructible environments right anymore
Why does every one of these threads have the same few unremarkable FEAR gifs
...
Because we have you, the faggot that always point that out
hehe cute
>didn't shatter light and nearby walls
yawn
don't get so defensive, friend
Visually this is very cool, with a couple of issues like sides being unaffected despite it looking like the entire thing is hit by the superhot sun and the side more away from the sun turning red super fast. It also kind of melts weird, like just the entire right side is affected by the heat and its just collapsing on that.
But while this is still very cool, this is a scripted area of the game right? I don't know what game this is, but I'm guessing you just wandered through a hallway that for some reason has covered windows that protect the objects/people inside from the sun. I'm imagining this is the only object in the game (or one of the few objects) with this melting animation and the animation itself is most likely static. Can anyone else confirm?
it's been around since the n64 era, actually.
>Can anyone else confirm?
Sure, confirmed
Thank god they're putting the guy who was in charge of Forge at the head of the multiplayer team for Halo 6. Maybe it will be fun again instead of MUH ESPOATS shit like 5.
Funny you should say that. Halo 5 is the only one I enjoyed, multiplayer wise.
lol this is shit
>MGS2
>pipe is busted and on fire
>tranq a dude and drag him to the fire
>nothing happens
>TECHN- wait wat
Thanks, here have this screenshot as a reward.
kojima's a hack.
The Division snow builds over time and melts when the sun is out. You can also knock snow off objects.
is this good? what about the sequel?
you're a smart one, aren't you
Shit game. Good technology
...
wut gaem
I love GTA for moments like this.
>he plays halo for anything except custom games
What exactly is TECHNOLOGY about this? It's got a single dynamic light (Doom3 is exclusively dynamic lights) a screen-space mirror (Deus Ex 1 had this) and the reflective floor doesn't even reflect the mirror properly.
Lighting is good, but that smoke cloud triggers me.
This is Driv3r for GBA. Fully open world, 3D game with decent draw distances.
shame you never use it for anything.
I remember falling for Todd's lies in 2011 when he said Skyrim would have something similar to this.
Not impressive.
just like every "technology" posted in this thread
>le epic matricks bullet time
pretty epic tech
>Two hostages in the building
>Go at it's backside
>Hammer down the wall of the room with hostages
>Rescued
And you can get creative with explosions as well.
The dynamic lighting is nice but everything else is particle effects and post processing. You could do the same shit with Gmod.
FUCK
Forgot image
Badass!
Halo 3 had nice water physics for its time
what game is this. Looks like crysis or alien isolation
What games? Second looks like it might be Quantum Break
Fuck off.
killzone
first is the new homefront. second one is uncharted 4
That's actually still impressive. A lot of modern games don't have water that nice. Much more impressive when you consider the amount of effort it took to pull that off with such limited CPU power for physics calculations. Good shit, Bungie
Wut game?
cool
Bungie back in the day were great. Nu Bungie a shit
>power armour weighing over 1 ton
>floating
Fear is a bad game and you should feel bad for liking it. It's a shitty corridor shooter with horrible AI.
>flashlight casts no shadows
This is anti-technology.
holy mother is that what I think it is
Isn't this game running on a modified GoldSrc engine?
Xash3d yes.
>boat weighing over 50 tons
>floating
>horrible AI
almost got me
>the two are the same
>>flashlight casts no shadows
they do, watch the webm again and look at the pillars on the side at the end
you dont see the shadow for most as you character is directly aligned with the camera and since the game uses a primitive gi system the shadows are not entirely dark du eto fake bounce light which you can see on left in very first seconds of the gif
Shit son I remember that. You can put down your ballistic mask to prevent headshots right? I don't remember it looking that good
FEARfags are the most obnoxious group on this board.
More like horrifyingly competent AI.
>futuristic power armor can't have the ability to float
>i mean jesus did it why cant this thing
Games literally 17 years ago did this user
??
This is the second game, maybe you only played the first.
>wait a mi-...
>remember 17 years ago was 2000
I know what you're thinking. "The mirror is reflecting the light back"
Actually it's casting a single light onto the mirrored rendering of the room behind the mirror.
Oh I guess I must have. I thought the "2" in your filename was for naming a second webm of it or something. Didn't even know they made a sequel.
>Literally shooting the gas tank causing his own fiery demise
That's why you always keep both hands on your weapon.
TECHNOLOGY as fuck
Fucking funny

I really wish games focused more on physics/destruction related stuff than just >GRAPHICS/REALISM
