Tell me honestly, which console was worse? OUYA or Wii? I've got 60 bucks to spend and both are around the same price at my local store.

Wii. Ouya was vastly underrated and has dozens of gems you can't find anywhere else.

Emulation wise I'm pretty sure Ouya has more power and support. It's just an android box after all with a Tegra in it. Ouya can play up to Dreamcast games, Wii is alright if you prefer to have wagglan games though.

Ouya is legit one of the best consoles of all time for its price

Wii has some amazing games. Lots of really good rpgs, Red Steel, the absolute best version of re4 etc.

You're conflating gyro aiming and wiimote aiming as the same thing.

Gyro aiming is stable and has several distinct improvements over Wiimote motion aiming. Wiimote motion aiming is jittery unreliable trash.
Gyro aiming enhances Splatoon and BOTW. Wiimote aiming does RE4 no favors.

You can be far more accurate with a wiimote than a GameCube controller (which you can also plug in and use) the best part about the wii version was shooting people in the kneecap and then headshotting them. Even if it wasn't accurate (it was) it still would have been better just because it's so much faster than using a stick

I do know gryo aiming would be a better option, but not with an old style wiimote. Just make sure you don't have any candles burning in the room.

there was a lot wrong with the ouya and it's launch but right now there's plenty of good stuff you could get with one. specially worth it at that price

Thing is though a PC version of RE4 exists. There's no way you can be serious in calling the Wii version the best one.

Its most popular games suck, but there's a lot to find if you dig a little deeper.

I'm pretty sure the Amazing Frog? has more production values in it then all Wii games combined. Buy the Ouya.

You can hack a Wii and still play online mario kart on a custom server, play 300+ custom tracks and play every gamecube game from a usb stick or hard drive. Not to mention there are some worthwhile Wii games to play. Also does Project M.

Yes, I own it. I would rather play the wii version. It's more fun to aim that way and I don't give a shit about graphics.

I tried to set up my steam controller and gyro controls but I couldn't find a way to get everything mapped on it and still have mouse aiming, the fucking QTE keys have to be seperate with key controls

wii sold really well and has a serviceable amount of worthwhile games
ouya sold very poorly, has mobile games only, and is generally considered to be a joke

Dreamcast is the latest it can do console wise, but there's even PSP and DS emulators on the Ouya storefront. Ignoring all the terrible cell phone game ports and first amateur project in a middleware engine games that Ouya only has, the emulators are really solid for the price they go for now.

If you want to free up some keys bind gyro activation to the right trackpad or the aim button

Honestly I should just check through the player profiles since I haven't in such a long time. I don't know why most users insist on garbage mouse like joystick controls

Mouse like joystick is usually a compromise made when there's no simultaneous input support.
There are some games with large enough stick sensitivity ranges that it feels totally fine. But yeah I'm not usually a fan of it.

Basically if you max out the in game stick sensitivity it can be serviceable in certain situations.

Is it a Wii Mini or a Wii? If it's a Wii Mini forget it and save your money. If it's a Wii get it softmoded and enjoy one of the best consoles to play retro games on. The Wii has a good library of games by itself too.

The Ouya is weaker than the average smartphone, you might aswell use your phone and get the Wii for the exclusives it has.
