Rune Factory 4 on the 3DS is great (or emulate RF3 for DS). The farming is less complex than in Harvest Moon I'd say, but the daily life aspects are much more expanded. All the characters have unique dialogs for months on end.

I actually like AWL, but it's a massive outlier in the franchise.

Rune Factory is what you're looking for.

AWL has the perfect combination of atmosphere and characters that I haven't seen any other game capture. The biggest flaw is you run out of content far too quickly and progressing the game becomes tedious.

Is Rune Factory 4 comfy/relaxing?
