why did nintendo killed the zelda serie with the open world meme? this game is soulless shit honestly

What do you think is the "soul" of the Zelda series and in what ways do you think BotW failed to capture it?

Ironic that you should say that because this is probably the one Nintendo game with the most heart and soul poured into it.

They strayed too far from the original ocarina of time

Entering a dungeon and finding a context sensitive item to solve """puzzles"""

I have to agree with you op

the game is souless

The least they could have done is add different textures to the dungeon walls.

its really weird how bad this game is.

whre da block puzzless?>

Obligatory

they just needed more meaningful stuff in there. they had a lot to do and explore but it was all fluff. if it had some real dungeons and some meaningful secrets/rewards and side quests it would have been great

wtf dude i know lol isnt even as good as Horizon Zero Dawn.....fucken nintendobabies lol

You're not allowed to criticize BotW on Sup Forums.

can't wait for the next zelda to be different from botw, and you dumb faggots coming back around to bitch about that.

>Pic related

they weren't going for ocarina of time, they wanted to make it closer to what the first game was.

>honestly
Don't lie.

Stop acting like OOT was the first Zelda game

>but it was all fluff
As opposed to the fluff from the other games?

>"souless"
probably the buzzword that most signifies a lack of intelligence and capability to form actual criticism

BotW could have been the best Zelda if it had longer main dungeons, 8ish mini-dungeons hidden around the world, and less shitty durability.

People love it because it feels like exploring an actual world. But there's not interesting beneath the surface.

Well I agree about the dungeon part at least.
Hope to see more traditional dungeoneering in the next installment.

That's nice and all, but can you prove to us that you actually have the game and arent just shit posting to get (you)s

It was pretty good. I put like 50 hours into it and was entertained so I can't say I didn't like it.

I don't see what the big deal is ether though. I mean it was a great game but I don't understand the unbridled adoration for it.

By the time Zelda looks even half as good as GTA V, games will look 10x better than they do now. Nintendo had the technological edge with Ocarina and Wind Waker. Since then, the series has felt too far behind to be truly enjoyable. Call me a graphics whore, but visuals are a critical part of immersion, and Zelda drops the ball.

botw looks as good as gta v on ps3

On a side note, from what I have seen from video clips ... the world sure is empty ...

Although to be fair, I think that’s more of a hardware problem than a game design problem - can’t have a rich world when the hardware can’t handle it.

You serious? You expect games to look good on Nintendo hardware?

From the GameCube, maybe. But from the gimmick filled post Wii hardware?

BOTW looks great The artstyle really helps it

i dont even own it

I played it at 1440p on Cemu. The ground looks like trash.

Nintendo didn't kill Zelda. It saved Zelda from the last 15 years of linear cutscenes and hallways. It went back to what Zelda should have always been.

That being said, BotW isn't the absolute best game ever made. But its a monumental leap in the right direction compared to Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and the DS games.

is it really worth it to make these bait threads anymore? its been months since the game came out and its not even award season yet when making these threads would make most sense if you really wanted to stir shit up

This. As much as I enjoyed the Zelda games after Majora's Mask, it was clear with each additional game that the series was being saddled with more and more pointless bullshit for the sake of "tradition". Skyward Sword was a massive fuckup in that regard with how it tried and failed to reinvent the series.

Even though BotW has some of the weakest dungeons in the series and only a mildly passable storyline, the Zelda series at least has a chance now to live up to its fullest potential.

The next Zelda game can pretty much just reuse the BotW engine, but add in all the stuff BotW lacked. And hopefully remove the voices.

Planning to buy a Switch tomorrow, is this game really that good?

Its a conglomeration of basically every good idea from previous open world games. So in that way, yes, it is good. Not original, but very good.

In terms of being a Zelda game, it is a return to the roots of Zelda. Which will be great or bad depending on what you want from a Zelda game. I think its a step in the right direction.

please dont defile courage with meme status. leave some stuff sacred

Zelda started as an open world game series, its just that instead of trying to be like those original open world games while retaining the series strengths, they decided to make a Ubishit style of open world but with an element system thats only used for fucking around in the overworld.
