What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Nothing? Sega is a multi billion dollar corporation that makes a butt load of money from a Sonic alone.

They also won't make Rhythm Thief 2.

gooks and burgerclaps couldnt get along with each other

All their best devs, the people who made Sega a global brand, have gone.

>Buying the Steam version

they are kinda like konami and capcom in the sense that they were big in the 80s/90s but all of their talent has left and they arent doing much now. but i would like to believe that sega is at least better than konami and capcom nowadays

I got the Switch version, but it still pisses me off either way.

In-fighting during the 90s between their Japanese and American divisions led to the one-two punch of a fuckup that was 32X and Saturn. Necessary layoffs at the time of the Dreamcast death led to losing most of their talent, they got bought out by a fucking pachinko company in 04, some people (including fucking Yuji Naka) left in early 2006 which led to an even more dwindling workforce of competent devs and other assorted personnel and also added to the sonic 06 debacle which was further compounded by half the 06 development team being split off mid-development to work on the wii and further hurt by higher ups rushing them for a christmas 06 release when it was nowhere near ready.

Needless to say, a great many things.

90's marketing went out of vogue.

1) Sega of Japan
2) Bernie fucking Stolar

Angry Video Game Nerd even says himself there aren't very many games off the Dreamcast that he can make episodes about.

It's not the problem with Sega what is the problem with the people?

sega didnt fail the dreamcast.
we did.

The short answer is the sega saturn.

The sad part is I'm sure there are people who think like that.

its true....

not true either. The Dreamcast sold really well for its limited time on the market

Everything

...

...

i remember when people thought this was a new console kek

Management lost touch with it's marketing base. Spent more time dickwaving and in-fighting than focusing on being successful.

Sega are huge cunts about what platform and languages they release things in (you will never ever play Border Break) but outside of Sanic I probably trust their actual development ability more than any of the other traditional Japanese big guns anymore. Then again maybe I'm just being retarded and forgetting the last games for most of their franchises were years ago during the last generation now and their output now consists of Valkyria Revolution and endless Project Diva and Yakuza rehashes that are really hard to fuck up.

They're on their way back up thanks to based Nagoshi.

Hey look, it's [forced meme].
