What's his fucking problem? Is it autism? Anger issues?
What's his fucking problem? Is it autism? Anger issues?
>doomguy was angry that one time in that comic everyone knows
>he must be angry all the time
His rabbit got killed which warrants eternal vengeance against the forces of hell
Jaded. He's clearly been through this routine before. He's incredibly shocked or outraged by Samuel Hayden and Earth. He's mostly disappointed and at the end of his patience. Like Courage when toddler Muriel makes him remake the mac n' cheese over and over again.
*he isn't incredibly shocked or outraged
I'm too cool for proofreading
He's angry that he's back in a bad reboot
He is personified rage
Doomguy doesn't have time to chill when retards keep sucking demon cock and letting hell into our reality
also his family died
If they just made him run faster, I think the game would have been twice as good.
Like the speed of the game when you pick up the run power-up should have been the normal speed.
>mfw upgraded rune where glory kills make you faster + picked up that haste buff
GOTTA
GO
FAST
I made the mistake of playing through Doom 1 and 2 with Brutal doom and then playing the 2016 Reboot. Made the lack of speed much more pronounced
>with Brutal doom
he's actually a pedophile in the books
Nothing wrong with Brutal doom. I like to play through with different mods.
I call bullshit
>2017
>Not using Project Brutality instead
Doom Marine does not have problems. Only solutions.
I really liked this game but when will the meme that it was an amazing shooter end? This game was boring as fuck after 1 playthrough and I don't know why it's praised so much. It sucks ass compared to Wolfenstein or even Dishonored
This game was so fucking bad.
Horrible gunplay and terrible enemy variety.
>increased glory kill range
>increased powerup time
>increased speed after glory kill
xboxdvr.com
Starts at about 1:50
I liked Doom 2016 more than Wolfenstein, maybe because there was no shoehorned story and I'm gonna buy sequel, unlike New Colossus.
They killed his rabbit
WITH HIS HANDS!
This GOAT scene sold me on D44M:
>"Our interest in their world was purely for the betterment of mankind."
>Camera briefly pans down to the mutilated corpse lying right below the comm
kino
I liked the story in TNO and it was not shoehorned at all, it was actually paced better than most fps's. Doom's story worked for the gameplay but the gameplay was boring as fucking shit after the first playthrough, and I still don't know why people love it so much
>Welcome, I'm Doctor Samuel Hayden, I'm the head of this facility. I think we can work together, and R E S O L V E this problem in a way that benefits us both.
Honeslty I don't want to sound like Randy Pitchford promoting Borderlands 3 but DOOM 2016 was fucking badass. That kind of right edgy, usually you're scared of Demons but in this game Demons are scared of you.
>literally the story is that he killed the strongest of all demons
>the demons basically said "fuck this" and set up a trap
>sealed him away because they couldn't kill him
Its a great setup. As faggy as this sounds, I loved the extra lore about him, and how hell is terrified of him.
>"HE CAN'T REACH THE CRUCIBLE!"
>Literal Satan shitting his pants and sending last of his troops in desperate attempt to stop you
I wonder what will the sequel be about, I just hope it's not on Earth. That would be super generic
He's an Angel, a REAL Angel, not the romanticized babby version.
Sent by god to purge the fires of damnation with sheer brutality.
And that guy in robe is Oracle from Commander Keen.
DEEPEST LORE
I hope the teleportation at the end is Hayden sending you to the deepest, most inhospitable pits of Hell, not to kill you, but just to slow you down long enough with all the demons you have to kill to find a way out so he can get his new facility started up. On the way back up you could then get to learn more about what the present hierarchy of Hell is like. Although I'm annoyed they didn't just bring the Icon of Sin back.
Also, Vega's complex was the coolest thing.
Man just hates demons. Wouldn't you?
>super generic
Nigger doom 2 was earth.
Yeah and it worked but with this new graphics and shit it would look like just another cowadooty.
youtube.com
>level 1 lol look this is like your [insert any city here] but it has gore and demons now
He's a man with strong, clear set of morals in a situation that violates those morals. He's a paladin with the aggression turned up to 11.
The two big loose story threads besides Hayden is the copy of Vega Doomguy made and those friendly spirits in Hell that clearly recognize him.
>Long after the Rapture and the Apocalypse, at the end of time God gathers his greatest warriors for the battle that will determine the fate of all reality
>leading the charge into Hell ahead of all the noble souls throughout our existence will be fucking Doomguy
There's Icon of Sin in Titan's Realm
Those Templars are his men from the battle at Argent D'Nur
stop porn hustling.
I knew they were from Argent D'Nur, but I didn't remember or get the impression that Doomguy was involved with that invasion.
Oh yeah, I just mean bring him up as the actual antagonist.
In an age where everything evil and demonic is either a humanoic muscled giant or a squid, it'd be nice and refreshing to have the ultimate evil represented as a goddamn giant wall again
That ONE FUCKING SECRET is so bullshit. The only fucking one I needed to look up where it was. The only goddamn secret to need something so convoluted.
I would so follow Doomguy into hell.
>shoot the Icon of Sin
I mean, it's not as convoluted if you recognized what he was supposed to be.
RIB AND TARE XD BIG GUTZ XXD JUST LIKE MY MEME HEHE MY FIRST DOOM WAS 3 BTW HEHE BUT DOOMGUY (a.ka. D00M SLAYURRR!!11!!!!) IS SO F*CKEN COOL!!!1!!11!!1!
!!
Check this it's basically Doomguy leading the Templars, they are even next to Doomguy in Samuel's office.
But he's always been portrayed as angry/insane, mostly based on his HUD face and the flavor text in doom2/64
Are you okay user? Did you have a stroke?
My first Doom was simply Doom but I can enjoy new things because I'm not bitter faggot.
Something like what happened to pic related.
>Doom Slayer has been rampaging through hell for eons
>Satan sitting at desk holding head in hands
>"seriously, what the fuck do we do with this guy. we kick him out and he just comes back. we send cyberdemon after him and he shits on him. we can't kill him."
>fuck it, drop a temple on him and be done with it. let the next generation worry about it.
>rushdown pikachu
Yo WTF
>that filename
All this Sup Forums text wizardry tends to pass me by. How the fuck did you do that?
Is this really our Doom marine from Doom 1&2?
Faggot
I never got this gotta go fast meme with doom when the origional wasn't all that fast paced compared to neo-doom or quake.
Yeah and apparently all WADs are canon, even H-DOOM.
Has Sup Forums ever done as big a 180 on a game as they did with d44m?
Oh man its so cool to hate on stuff for no fucking reason except for how edgy it is. I hate all video games. Cool, right?
>Backs up Vega before shutting him down
Doom guy is a good person, he just has no patience for this "moral ambiguity" shit.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Originally Doom was basically Evil Dead in space.
So logically, Doomguy's character arc is basically a one for one bruce campbell/ashley williams character arc
>starts off as a weak little punk who barely makes it
>slowly goes crazy until it gets annoying
>gets macho mad and blows the fuck out of hell
>has to deal with this forever so he's perpetually jaded and mad now
Yup. I remember the threads about the Undertale early demo.
Carmack left id and he's stuck in a shitty game
Do yourselves and watch this interview if you haven't yet. This guy is fucking great.
Yeah because you like Doom 3: Outlast Edition by Carmack, right?
*do yourselves a favor
I'm tired.
>Doom 3
>Daikatana
They were infinitely superior when the forces were in balance
DOOM 2016 had big shoes to fill and it will never be as good as the originals, but it was pretty good for modern standards and the devs paid a good tribute to first games, which I respect. Unlike Doom 3 which threw everything away, including original Doomguy.
No it's just that it was repetitive as fuck and I got bored really quick, therefore I didn't like it
there is also the birthday room behind a fake wall...
you mean sensible people with taste who don't buy into it day 1 shit on it when they get around to playing it?
Hugo is a fucking hack and ruined the game.
I don't like doom 3 much either it has got a lot of problems but it is better than the new game and feels like a proper id shooter
>Hugo is a fucking hack and ruined the game.
That's racist
You run faster than Hussein Bolt in the original doom.
>he didn't have always run on
No, here's what really happened:
>Fighting to survive, push the demons back, and get back home
>Demons kill bunny
>It IS personell kid
Why did Doomguy cared about the bunny so much?
What do you take him for? Some kind of heartless monster?
So who's the angriest?
>Doomguy
>Kratos
>Asura
Well. Those Demons have families and pets too.
Asura.
>Angry-d himself back to life three times (maybe four, its been a while)
>Killed a being larger than the Earth by getting REALLY mad at its finger
>punching a hole in reality to go and fight God
Its really not even close.
Do a lot of people understand this reference?
"public displays of affection" are very irritating.
I got it. Hardly remember that episode though
Asura has subverted the very laws of reality through the sheer power of his fury to be able to kill an omnipotent and omnipresent Creator Deity. Meanwhile Kratos has always been a bitchboy and Doomguy, while admirable, still falls short because he hasn't irreversibly destroyed the entirety of hell yet.
>he hasn't irreversibly destroyed the entirety of hell yet
Can you blame him? Hell gets filled daily, one guy can't keep up.
Demons don't matter, they KILLED HIS FUCKING BUNNY, HOW COULD YOU KILL THE MOST DEFENSELESS ANIMAL TO EXIST?
He was one of them until he betrayed because the demons promised to resurrect his son if he dropped the energy barrier that was stopping the demons. That is literally what led to him becoming the Doom Slayer and the knights there are saluting him for a engine their deaths and making amends for his transgression.
have you ever gotten rid of all the viruses on your grandmother's PC only for her to call you a month later and have it just as bad if not worse
well its like that but with demons and mars/earth
I only remember it because my girlfriend brings it up because she thinks it's hilarious
Where did you get this information from
>On the way back up you could then get to learn more about what the present hierarchy of Hell is like.
YES. The codex entries appeased my autism well, but I want moar.
Are we talking about Wolfenstein The New Order? Because that game actually has some atrocious pacing issues. "Here's a fun level that ends way faster than it should. Now here's a shallow stealth section. Now here's a section where characters are sitting around talking. Now here's a section where you're swimming in the sewers and nothing happens for about 20 minutes..."
Really hope The New Colossus doesn't have this problem. The Old Blood was better since it was pretty much nonstop action after you get past the stealth section in the beginning.
I'm almost positive the robbed "angel" is supposed to symbolize us, the player guiding him.
Best part of the lore is the reason for some demons existing
>Specters exist because they fed a Cacodemon brain stem to a Pinky, it turned invisible and the handler left the door open because he thought the demon already escaped.
Also the part that Imps eventually evolve into summoners is interesting.
Enemies that eventually grow into the stronger enemies you see later in the game is something that always gets me.
Would anyone mind if they brought back the Maledict for D00M MMXVII?
I would love to see the new version of that thing. Updated Doom 3 demons and adding the demons from multi into the next doom would be my dream
>Where did you get this information from
The logs in Hell detail how they found Argent D'Nur and how they couldn't capture it because of the power the knights wielded.
But they eventually conquered that world through betrayal. They brokered a deal with the Leader of said knights (who had lost his son) and promised him that they would return his son to him if he let their guard down.
He did this - and then Hell took over Argent D'Nur - his son was returned to him, but in a twisted, mishapen form (his soul twisted and corrupted by Hell, a mockery that still 'fit their end of the deal').
It's a popular FAN THEORY that Doomguy was -that- Leader, a former Knight. (It's also why his helmet has their symbol, and why they all salute him).
It also fits why Hayden's betrayal/rationale for the ''betterment of mankind' doesn't surprise him - because hes made the same selfish choice before. He's only interested (as seen in the intro) in saving innocent lives.
It also fits typical Heaven vs Hell tropes. Whereas the forces of Hell are more direct in approach - Heaven prefers to let Sin punish itself (Doomguy is a product of being betrayed by Hell. Filled with fury. Its mentioned in many logs that he is 'blessed' by some hidden figure.)
It fulfills an ironic trope that a monster borne out of Hell's own design is one that is slaughtering them by the thousands.
I don't know how they did it, but they made me care about lore in a fucking Doom game.
I fucking love how the Testament of the Doomslayer starts at the Age of the First Demonic Lord and ends at the Age of the Fourth Demonic Lord.
it wasn't the leader, it was a normal member
