There's nothing even remotely difficult about the controls. It is just literally a run-off-a-mill console shooter, with tight corridor levels with chest-high walls and shit in areas with enemies popping out for a while + turret scenes, all made so you'd play it like typical console shit. Heck, even your HP regenerates, because kids are too lazy to look for supplies and devs too lazy to place them on a map.

Im playing shadow warrior on the hardest difficulty right now, everything legit tries to murder you if you dont constantly run away from shit and the game constantly spawns in death trap rooms in dynamic levels, it's not perfect (sometimes I can kite the AI) but after playing hard reset, (which had terrible art design but solid challenging gameplay) I knew that dev knew what they were doing and it was a safe bet.

I decided against wolfenstein purely because it was easy. You have to unlock the hardest setting, they hide it because IT PROBABLY PLAYS LIKE SHIT when you pay attention to the mechanics and difficulty.

Go watch total biscuits review of shadow warrior. He complains it's too hard, and that enemies don't die in one shot (what a faggot, but his gameplay videos are detailed).

Like it or not, some games have the option of being hard, wolfenstein is casual as fuck. I've play a lot of hard games.

It's not about difficulty, it's about being dynamic. Difficulty forces the game to be more complicated and interesting. Using different weapons on different enemies to be efficient, using weapons enemies are weak too, etc, etc. On easy games you can do anything and be successful.

Doom is easy as fuck on whatever difficulty you're playing. And I agree Shadow Warrior is a pretty good game but it makes no sense that you're defending those 2 while trying to shit on Wolfenstein lol

Sup Forums shit aside, there's really not even much to do in the game and there's barely any variety when it comes to enemies or weapons and the larger enemies are just bullet sponges.
It's a decent time killer on the first play through but the boring narrative and bland gameplay doesn't warrant a second.
Truly the only thing it does have going for it is the fact that you're killing retro-futuristic Nazis in a setting where the Axis won but that's about it.

Doom has unsatisfying melee combat that ruins the game, it has quick animations that makes me feel as if the enemies are made of soft jello and pudding, and while it's fluid gameplay wise because of the short animations, it also makes melee too powerful and a casual win button when enemies are too close to the player, so instead of aiming, you just press a button.

I also hate the artstyle and settting which is far from inspired, they make no effort to make me desire entering the world of doom to explore, no brilliant set pieces or fantastic hellish landscapes. Fucking obivion had a more interesting hell game.
