Why are good RPG companions so rare nowadays?

Why are good RPG companions so rare nowadays?

Stop shitting up Divinity threads.

Because RPG writing has been on a sharp decline for a good while
Edér is one of the best vidya bros in a long time. Glad he's sticking around in Deadfire and still being written by Fenstermaker

Because they make political ideologies companions now rather than crafting characters with interesting stories.

Based eder poster

>Sebille
>Lohse
>Fane
*Teleports behind you* Pshh, nothing personnel

Lantry and Barik were solid bros.

Fane is literally just Rick Sanchez. What the fuck

Lantry was alright. Barik sucked, if nothing else, because of the voice actor.

>Edér is one of the best vidya bros in a long time

Shave his bear and it's just Alistair from Dragon Age.

Though he's less bitchy and more boring

I love D:OS2 but the writing of those characters is awful, their backstories are cool but each one of them is a Mary Sue on their own and their personalities are soo cliche. Only thing they need to make them worse is make Fane say Bazinga or Sebille nuthen personnel.

>tfw party throughout the game has been Sebille Loshe and Fane

Sebille is alright a bit into Act 2, other two are bad though.

I tend to play these games without audio so I barely even know how Barik sounds like.

Because Chris Avellone has to sleep

what a handsome fella

He's less bitchy and a much bigger bro. He's better than Alistair in every way.

Because good writers don't work in video games.

Based Edér working Divinnityfags into a shoot.

This was a good companion.
He actually was the best companion in any game ive ever played.

>good companioins
>posts some generic faggot
?

Not OC enough for you?

?

this guy is pretty cute. you're just an ugly faggot with no friends.

Ifan's one of my favorites in a long time. And hanging with Big Red on his eternal quest for pussy is enjoyable.

>tfw no arrogant, sarcastic evil wizard polymorphed gf companion

I fed the dwarf to a puddle

I'm playing as Ifan right now, is he how am I playing him, a tired old crusader seeking redemption but too cynical for his own good?
