Is there any reason to get these if i have heart gold? I don't remember the original very well because i got ruby/saphire too soon afterwards and only completed the original gold/silver once and crystal once.

playing gold, using typhlosion/noctowl/togetic so far since i've never used the latter two before.
they're pretty shitty, noctowl has higher special attack than attack for some reason but hasn't learned any special moves yet and the only flying move he knows is >peck
togetic is a little bit better but he has the same "high special attack but no special moves" problem

because it literally costs the same as the e-shop one? plus you get an edition-specific mainmenu theme + main menu music for the 3ds.
also the boxes are pretty. if you buy the e-shop version, you get nothing of all that.

Reminder that Johto is the worst region in terms of ingame Pokemon selection and HGSS do nothing to fix it. Most of the new Pokemon either have stupidly low encounter rates, aren't avalible until Kanto or even later, or are just awful. Locking the elemental stones behind fucking RNG phone calls or one day a week at the pokathalon. Most of the generation 4 evolution items aren't even avalible until after beating all of fucking Lantos gyms.
