Was it Iwata's vision or Kimishima's execution that turned Nintendo around? Discuss, Sup Forums

Kimi deserves credit alone for reforming NoA's marketing team.

I mean... their only successful game in the past few years is better emulated on a pc by software designed for the previous generation.... Not too sure what you mean there friendo.

Execution is always the deciding factor.

Can't tell if bait or retarderino

There's no way for us as outsiders to tell, especially while we're in the middle of it. We have no idea for how long we're going to be seeing the results of things Iwata started, nor will we know how much Kimishima may have shifted the course of those things. Kimishima may have been responsible for turning the Switch idea into the moneymaker that it is, and he may have pushed along development of particular games that would not have released at the same time otherwise. Or maybe things are quite similar to how Iwata planned. He only died two years ago, and game's take a long time to make.

He hasn't fucked anything up, anyway.

>paid online
>continuation of amiibo/day 1 dlc
i'd call those fuckups

Truly a leader.

Obvious bait.

>turned Nintendo around
>3 trash consoles
>2 of them complete dumpster fires

you had one job, op

Why does Sup Forums worship that fag iwata when he fucked up nintendo?
People should worship Yamauchi for saving video games

I think the Switch was the last think Iwata was really overseeing before he died. I think a lion's share of the credit goes to him, especially since it seems fairly obvious that Kimishima took over during the finalization of the product and its production, and subsequent marketing.

That being said, Kimishima hasn't done anything to make Nintendo lose money yet, so they are probably more than happy to have him at the helm while Miyamoto and Takeda do the heavy development lifting as those "co-president" or co-manager roles they were given after his death.

they're only fucking up the customers
nintendo is making tons of money from them

you're talking about iwata right? also that has no bearing on the question whatsoever

He was charismatic and was a programming wizard.

the only true failure was the wii-u, which was a marketing issue and not anything related to the hardware, or library of games.

You will understand.

Yeah paid online is bullshit but desu if you can't afford 20 bucks a year what the hell are you doing buying a switch in the first place

not to hate on iwata but it's arguable that while he expanded the audience during the wii/ds era by focusing on casuals, he essentially also alienated the hardcore, so when wii u came along and the casuals abandoned them for smartphone games they had no one but their hardcore fanbase to support them. So it was a poor strategy in the long term even though the short term success was massive
