For all the 10/10 ratings, the beyond-glowing praise, the claims that it was the best game in ten+ years, and the status of still being one of the highest-rated games on Metacritic, GTA 4 left absolutely no legacy behind. Does anyone still care about it?

It was a letdown after coming off San Andreas. The graphics and physics were amazing for the time but it lost that sense of fun other GTAs had and lacked non-mission content.

I will say this - despite being a letdown gameplay-wise, this was the first time Rockstar really blew me away with their heartbreaking story endings. There were some damn fine character moments in that game, a trend which kept going with LA Noire and Red Dead.

the police computer is a source of endless content. some of those "current crime" situations are tougher than the actual missions. and you have to respond fast, so it tests your driving skills as well as your shooting.

game was amazing for its time in every way the only few flaws i had was size of map and customisation.

I'm glad they stepped up their game for GTA 5.

GTA4 is the best in the series, with the exception of San Andreas and SA is only barely playable by today's standards. 4 has the best story and best engine with a very high attention to detail in the city. A lot of that extra shine was dropped in 5.

Not just the police computer, the computer and phone in general. A lot of the content is hidden behind friendship ratings and in-game websites.

It's not like the old GTAs were most of the content was marked on the map. You had to work to find it in IV.

They really dropped the ball on V and its physics engine.

4 is way better than 5 in almost every aspect though desu. Pic related is still the best story-wise though.

Ragdoll physics was great. Shooting people and running them over was done right. V fucked it up massively felt like shooting toy guns compared to IV.

The driving was pretty fun but a bit to slippery real cars don't slide that much.

Sucked that the game pretty much had zero colour a grey city isn't fun.

The story was pretty good if I remember right.

The Ballad of Gay Tony was a great dlc. Lost and damned was decent.

The stunt jumps was done right aswell.

9/10 game

For all it's faults at least the main character wasn't a nigger from the hood that no one could relate to. Nico Belic,Tommy Vercetti and Johnny Klebitz were the best protagonists in the GTA series to this day. Shame IV run like shit on PCs.

Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Half-Life, those are games that came out 10+ years before GTA 4 that people still frequently talk about.

SA is the magnum opus of GTAs it's like 3 GTAs in one with 150 mission and tons of side activities and businesses to buy

Was it official? Apparantely there are 360 controllers that look like the standard white pad but for some reason are not compatible with certain games because it isn't the official 360 Microsoft pad. I learned this when my Afterglow USB 360 controller failed to work with certain games.

If you can you could try to use Joy2Key which will convert keyboard inputs into game pad inputs if the game doesn't recognize the controller.
