Only problem with SFIV's approach was that the bundles felt arbitrary and usually meant you were buying 7 costumes when you only wanted one of them, not to mention pretty much none of the post AE costumes ever dropped below $8 a pack.

You can get USF4 for $20 right now (like $40 base price) and it feels immensely vast compared to SFV, which is $20 without any of the DLC, and while you can unlock the characters, the grinding needed to do so is absurd and pushes you to buy the season passes.
3rd Strike Online is $15 (or free if you go Fightcade) and while the cast isn't that big, it's by far the most complex game in the series with regards to individual character depth.

I paid $92 for SFV at launch and got a half finished game, and they want almost $40 for a few new characters and $5 for a single costume, meanwhile the netcode is still trash and it takes 15 minutes to find a ranked match on a good day.

I used to love SF and in USF4 I'd buy costumes that looked cool even for characters I played maybe once in a blue moon just because "I play this game so much and I've had so much fun, whats another $5?"
