actually the PS2 game looks better than PC.
get the mods that bring back the PS2 stuff, but that may take some research. Map fixes, silentpatch, etc.
there are a few 'modern' mods widescreen fix, limit remover and a few gameplay tweaks like mixsets and minor tweaks from the mobile version (higher res stuff, etc).
SkyGFX is an essential mod because it brings back the PS2 post-processing and rendering. A new feature on it allows you to play with colors that are converted to YUV and back to RGB (because nearly all PS2's were played with composite cables that displayed a YUV color range).
All of these fixes change so much stuff, the way cars are rendered, and they are so customizable through .ini files, that they are practically ESSENTIAL to playing the game.
If you want a photorealism mod, first off you're retarded; I guess ENB is the closest you can get to it, but you're just better off playing GTA V.
