You don't get blinded

>you don't get blinded
>you don't go deaf
>your skin doesn't melts off
>you somehow don't get enough radiations that kills you in less than a month
Who looked at the script and thought "yeah, that looks good"?

>implying anyone looked at the script
Fallout 4 wasn't even working off of a first draft, it was working off of an outline.

Not interested in discussing how realistic things are in an alternate universe post-apoc game w/ talking mutants and ghouls.

Even in an unrealistic setting I expect to see consistency and logic.

...

>consistency and logic
This is not fun or epic. Fun and epic sells, consistency and logic don't.

Need to get fired ASAP

NOT INTERESTED IN TALKY WITH DUMB HUMAN

Crusader Kings

What about that faggot that lived in the fridge for 200yrs

Is there a worse argument on the face of this planet

Ssssssh.

They're all synth in my headcanon.

nobody looked at the script

Pagliarulo is a fucking hack and always has been

Oh God this is Gold.
Let's not even discuss the whole point of the Synths, thats another plot hook on its own.

>Kellog wants your son because he has dna with no radiation
>even though you gain gamma radiations the moment you saw the explosion

That shit-eating grin fucking haunts me at nights

Institute are a bunch of retards.

Honestly that's the least of the problems in the story, because physics in the fallour universe is demonstrably shown to operate on different rules than the real world. That could just be chalked up to it being a low-yield warhead or something or the sort.

The true stupidity begins as soon as you step off your cryo chamber.

How is it inconsistent? By Fallout logic it works.

you get a gun that shoots tactical nukes in ridiculously short range and you're worried about the opening trailer/event?

It's already wrong when you see vertibird and T-60 in the intro.

>vertibird
Explain.

Yeah, it's not like you explode multiple nuclear missiles in NV with the same lack of effects. Or how ICBMs hitting Legion/NCR camps just turns everyone into super tanky ghouls instead of killing everything in radius of dozens of kilometers.
Or how you leave V13 caves with your character not going blind even though protective glasses were only mentioned in 2, but instead mentioning hundreds of miles of wasteland outside instead.

But hey, it's Sup Forums after all, they haven't even played the game and just shit on something they've seen on youtube when main story has plot holes much larger than that. They don't call em Obsidiots for nothing.

This game isn't even good for modding.

Kellogg is just a gun for hire, a bunch of scientist dicks wanted your pure DNA for gen 3 synths

You don't understand art

...

If I remember correctly the Vertibrds were originally designed by the Enclave post-war. They were in very early concept designs before the bombs dropped, but were never really fielded before then.

Of course, with Bethesda at the helm, canon doesn't mean anything anymore.

I mean he's not wrong. There's not really anything realistic about Fallout at all. A Nuclear holocaust isn't going to lead to giant green people walking around.

Pete pls

You forgot:
>200 years after
>still a wasteland

Ever heard of rule of cool?

They just thought it would be cool/epic, that's it, that's all it takes for Bethesda to justify something.

Did not know that.

but it was the FEV that made the supermutants not the radiation

>fallout is the same thing as neutron and gamma bursts
Woah.

Yes, and it's an excuse for writers to be lazy. It works well enough for stuff that is already batshit crazy like Bayonetta or a Tales game, but not for series that developers push "realism" as a selling point.

He's right about suspension of disbelief, but in context he was talking about a straight up timeline inconsistency.

You can handwave magic radiation that turns people into zombies, what you can't do is try to plug dumb plot holes with that logic.

But it works the same way in both New Vegas and FO3?

>Fallout
>realism

Why is my son black?

games I don't like must undergo an inordinate amount of scrutiny. it's not enough I simply don't play them. I'm so buttblasted I must make inane bullshit threads about it on a daily basis.

I know it isn't, but you know that the cucks at Bethesda try to market their game as such.

He was possessed by Zamasu.

>establish rules that your universe operates on
>completely break them then use the excuse "well the rules are different in our universe so it's ok to break them"

Do you think they did any research considering they thought the safeguard dishes were somehow silo doors?

>Fallout games
>realism
>series where people turn into zombies from radiation exposure
>series where people were stuck in 50s for over a century
>series where people are turned into Hulks by dipping themselves into magic goo
>series where cows with 2 heads are a norm and are a species capable of surviving and reproducing
?????

>Yeah, it's not like you explode multiple nuclear missiles in NV with the same lack of effects

This was a thing? Outside of using mininukes the only exposure you have with actual nukes are in Lonesome Road. I could be wrong because it has been ages since I played NV.

>Or how you leave V13 caves with your character not going blind even though protective glasses were only mentioned in 2

Now I am just lost.

>institute could conquer the entire commonwealth if they wanted
>instead they just replace mud eating farmers with synths
>maybe the institute actually lacks the resources and manpower to take over the surface
>but the institute can still afford to lose 50 brand new synths to the railroad every fucking week

I wanted the institude to work out so bad, Imagine being able to design your synth bodyguard, get cool and game changing cybernetic implants, or a new futuristic power armor.

But all I got was a big bag of fucking nothing, those guys are not even doing anything useful like helping the planet recover, they just want to stay in that fucking hole until the end of time.

I really don't pay a lot of attention to Bethesda's marketing but I thought they were pushing it as a kitsch, wacky setting for dumb open world fun.

They even made a bunch of little cartoons leading up to release.

>Bethesda
>marketing Fallout as realistic
>every trailer is ultraviolence super cut
Nigger, what?

>cuck
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were retarded.

>fallout 3 plot is to purify water because apparently it's difficult to got some nice water
>You can build a shitty water purifier for nothing in fallout 4.
BRAVO

It makes more sense if you assume everyone in the Capital Wasteland is an idiot.

Hell, it fixes pretty much everything wrong with the setting now that I thought about it.

>being able to design your synth bodyguard
THIS.
Put a template synth in a similar Character creation as the MC, choosing it's voice, and mold him to your faction motives.
seriously why hasn't anyone made a mod of this?

don't they get deradiated inside the cryochambers?

I mean yeah Fallout 4 is shit compared to the rest of the franchise and wasn't even fixable with mods but this one thing doesn't strike me as a problem

I think he's referring to the warhead in Lonesome Road you destroy, but those are not armed warheads, you are destroying them before they are armed.

No it doesn't

In fact the manual for Fallout 2 goes into detail on what would happen if a nuke went off as close as the one in F4.

In Fo3 they wanted to purify it on a massive scale, I think dr. li said they had success with small scale purification.

ck2 literally has magic

Yeah and you can fucking purify water by putting it through a filter. There's no need for a goddamn G.E.C.K.

No areas in the fallout universe would be habitable for thousands of years, the whole premise is bullshit

They also created gorilla synth for shit and giggles.

>shamelessly defending AAA garbage
Yeah, okay.

>Mr Handy is in Sanctuary for 200 years
>somehow survived the blast perfectly fine despite every house being various levels of destroyed

I decided to stop caring about the story and just push through the game hoping something would be there but it sucks and is really railroaded so far.

I can do that, but the Fallout people clearly can't. They needed computers to run their water bullshit in 1 and need the GECK to purify water in 3.

The institute is full of scientist pussies that would never set foot out there. It's not like the brotherhood that goes out and clears areas themselves with real humans.

>tfw only play fallout 4 as a city builder so i can build cool ass post apocalyptic junktown settlements filled with jet dealers and hookers
everything else about the game is shit

>find out that the institute is not what everyone else think it is
>can't tell the faction leaders about it

>find out that mcdonough is a synth
>can't tell piper about it

>find about the bad things the institute has done
>can't confront father about it

They dont even need to go outside, they can just overrun the surface with synths.

Hell, synth bodies are immortal, and the level of brain surgery skill in fallout is pretty high, if those scientists wanted they could transfer their brains to snthy bodies who are strong enough to punch death claws to death.

Instead they just spend all day wachting the wonders of synthetic gorilla semen.

That's bethesda rpg for you.
>Can't tell railroad about how can I change institute policy now that I'm the boss.

Piper is there when everyone in diamond city finds out Mcdonough is a synth. There's a quest after you blow up the institute.

Put a blind fold on and insert earplugs.
There, I just gave you the experience you apparently are requesting

That actually looks pretty neat

>dude gen3 are like humens u cant tell the diffrenss!!!!!!
>enter vats mode
>synths have extra energy resist while humans have nothing

Fallout nukes are made of chicken tendies

No one has a pipboy except you and vault 81 people

there is a mod were u can build the synth making machine and you can copy any wastelander

Don't forget
>Steal the key to Kelloggs house
>Enter
>The button to his secret hideout simply doesn't spawn if you're not on the quest

Even Fallout 3 let you skip 50% of the story by going straight to your father, but Fallout 4 just removes shit until you finish the quests in the correct order.

>have the only technology in the wasteland that can detect synths
>this never comes in to play in the story

But if you don't follow the carefully laid out railroad tracks how else will you fully appreciate the story that Bethesda shat out?

How is this any different than in Fallout 3 if you nuke megaton

>if obsidian ever works on another fallout game they'll have to drag 4's horrible writing with it

>When you get out crates, vehicles are lying barely in disorganized manner instead being all evaporated or blown miles away
>clothes still functional and not totally wasted after years and years of cryosleep
>only your robot survives in the whole neighborhood
>interior still barely decayed

Taking fallout seriously is a joke, new vegas is at the very least bareable with the improvised buildings

Fallout nukes are actually pretty low yield, that's why they had to use them like carpet bombs pretty much.

haha yeah why didn't they mutate like in real life!?

You can end the game pretty quickly after getting to the institute if you shoot father in the face. You're skipping 50% right there

always bothered me is that there are perfectly good houses that people can live in but instead they build shanty towns around them

that's fine, but they're looking directly at the explosion and it appears to be pretty fucking close. The yield would not matter much in this case in regards to the effect on the people in the scene.

Not him but that raises a question. how far were you when the nuke went off?
probably doesn't matter but i'm curious.

>Computers still working and even on (in the meanwhile, my hdd dies after just 4 years of use)
>you have people living (in f1) near a toxic waste river
>is there even a water purification at this point in f4?
> how did people survive without clean water in f3 is beyond me if your whole vault dies in 1 without any water

I dont really feel like going on

>hdd dies after just 4 years of use
that's entirely your fault

i always kinda liked the computers in fallout
they look like old macs that were poured from lead and ran on nuclear power

>implying clunky old-timey computers don't have the right to be sturdy as fuck

BUILT TO LAST

what was the mac that was so badly designed that it routinely wiped its own harddrive?

^I mean, if your batshit lore can exlpain this shit to me than i dont even hear the reasons why a ghoul kid survived for 200 years in a fridge

i was getting to that

Ghouls don't have to eat and drink

kys

He was asleep.
