Are i9 processors just a meme or
Are i9 processors just a meme or
yes
Yes.
No. If you don't have one, you're not going to be able to run half the games coming out over the next 5 years any better than console plebs.
>implying there will be anything worth playing over the next 5 years
>implying anything will utilize that many cores in the next 10 years
>implying games need CPU rather than GPU
Poorfag detected.
What would you need that much power for?
Rendering 12 hour 4k videos in 10.minutes?
>namecallingtodisprovefacts
Show me a game that will use all 6 cores of my i7
They're good for burning your neighborhood to the ground.
Burden of proof, nigga
I'll take that as a no
burden of proof lies on the person that made the claim retard
also you can't call logical fallacy immediately after committing one
>fallacy fallacy
Hypocrite
fallacy fallacy is disregarding someones argument because they used a fallacy
which im not, i just think you're a retard
stop using new buzzwords you dont understand
CPU hasn't been the gaming bottleneck for years, there's no need for the new processors.
Buy some cheap processor and shell out for a 1080TI.
Just buy a ryzen and get a 1080ti
there's like 5 games that actually use ht for an i7 why would you get an i9?
...
144herz fags need a pretty decent CPU, but yeah, an i9 might be overkill.
Not really
Top of the line stuff is usually just a market strategy
By the time a i9 really starts to show what it can do yours will either to completely obsolete or have had a significant price drop.
Don't get me wrong, Its plenty powerful but so so is a 1080 ti running games at 1080p 30 fps.
uhh... SLIPPERY SLOPE
*panics*
FAKE NEWS!
[sweating intensifies]
HILARY SUPPORTER!!!
Stop. Just, please stop.
>30 fps
They're ridiculously expensive and underpowered for gaming.
You are best served with the unlocked i7 if you can afford it.
Otherwise you should just stick to AMD for budget builds.
>AMD shill posting a non-vidya related synthetic benchmark
Swing and a miss
Go back to shilling on Sup Forums
Thats the point user, You don't need a very powerful GPU to run at 1080 30 fps yet you're using a 1080 ti for this.
Its to showcase how you don't need to spend £750 to do something a £100 750 ti could even do.
I'm going to stress this is an example.
stay in school and don't fall asleep during your classes user.
That's hot.
If you have a decent i7 and a fucking 1080ti you better be pushing well beyond 30fps at 1080p. I understand what you are trying to say. But at 1080p you should be in the 144fps or you've done something seriously wrong.
(you)
>implying modern education will fix that
I think a good throat punching will fix that
yes. it is for the retarded ones if they buy it for just gaming.
Take also this (You).
Are there even games that use 4 cores?
>cinebench
Recent Battlefield?
Anyone else getting 128GB RAM? 64 is starting to slow down on me
Do people not see that I3 8100 that is basically an i5 for only $110 USD? This is great for poor people who want a great CPU.
>4 cores/4 threads
>3.6 base clock
>65 watt usage (good for low Power supplies)
Intel is now selling a superior i5 in the form if i3 for 50% less money and no one is talking about it.
If you're a poorfag you should go AMD Ryzen.
The performance you get for its price is unmatched compared to what you will get with Intel.
If you're not that poor anymore then the i7 8700k is king.
Should I get a 8700k to heat my house this winter?
It's not out yet I think. There's also Pentium G4560 for budget builds.
Yes and I'm an intel shill
we are litterally just now getting to the point where more than a handful of games use more than 2 cores. get an i3 or i5 with high single core speed and you're good if literally all you do is play video games.
>get an i3
I hope you're talking about coffin lake
...
Threadripper is better
>buying (((((((Intel)))))))))) CPUs for heavy CPU rendering applications when Threadripper exists
no you shouldn't
a g4560 beat all of the Ryzen 3 line up
Games have been using 4 cores for awhile now. It's only when you touch older games you won't get the full benefit.
Did intel really think they can add 2 cores without revamping their architecture that already lead to significant overheating problems? I'm not even talking about the use of cheap ass TIM that is guaranteed to cripple the unlocked processors. Why the fuck do they keep using the shitty thermal solution for high-end processors? Jesus christ, how the fuck does AMD manage to produce something decent despite having 0 fucking production lines, yet Intel can't create different production lines for their high-end enthusiast consumers despite having the largest production line capacity behind Samsung?
Take another (you)
Why are AMD fags always so salty. Same shit with their rivalry against Nvidia. But muh Vega (lmao 8 months after and you cant even reach 1080ti).
AMD is good for people who cannot afford better gear but thats it.
>Games have been using 4 cores for awhile now
Source?
Most of the AAA titles coming out barely use 2
>be intel
>''sir, ryzen beats us on everything even price, all we got is gaming performance''
>''RAMP UP THE CLOCKS TO THE MAX''
>''but sir wont that burn that peoples house down?''
>''I SAID RAMP UP THE CLOCKS, GAMING PERFORMANCE IS ALL WE HAVE LEFT''
>not vidyageams
Bye Sup Forums.
>bought an R1700 a month ago
I should've waited but I couldn't wait anymore. M-maybe 7nm+ Zen will be good, it's the same socket, after all.
>the first cpu to break the 1kw barrier
AMD GPUs are shit compared to Nvidia, I'll give you that. But their new CPUs DO blow Intel out of the water in both price and performance.
A shitton of games aren't even multi-core. Invest in GPU instead.
*In multicore processes which games don't do so you're better off with Intel if all you do is play vidya geams
You can just swap it out for a Zen+, Zen2, Zen2+. without needing to get a need motherboard. No worries.
Even if you bought Coffee Lake it will be rendered obsolete since Intel leaks show Ice Lake early next year with 8-cores and a new motherboard.
At least with your Ryzen platform you are good until 2018-2019 with your motherboard.
>he actually believes that AMD won't release an "improved" motherboard that "maximizes" their CPU
(lol how naive
2nd gen Threadripper is going to be the greatest CPU ever created
I mainly wonder if I'd be able to sell my original Ryzen, it would be hard to justify just throwing it away after a year or so, but if I can sell it even at half price or slightly less, I'd be content with paying the price for that advancement.
Have fun getting jewed by Intel
you sorely exaggerate how good ryzen is.
Probably. Keep all the boxes and receipts.
I will, and I will enjoy my €85 cashback on my Intel i5 7600K to play vidya geams with because I don't do anything that needs multicore.
>wait for 10nm cannonlake till the end of next year
>performance is worse than 14++ as Intel said themselves
7700k already got complaints for the stupid temps it reaches but hey lets just add another 20 degrees!
>buying an expensive CPU for vidya when even old i5 2500k is still more than adequate
lol. Buying a last generation CPU is for actual productive people, not low energy beta cuckolds that spend all day playing the latest Bioware shovelware.
Also this, hope you enjoy your hard-earned money going to ((((Social Justice causes)))))).
>CPU hasn't been the gaming bottleneck for years
That was true until 120hz monitors came out. Now there's even 240hz monitors and games like pubg can't even get above 60 without nasa-tier hardware.
>games like pubg can't even get above 60 without nasa-tier hardware.
That's the issue with the software, not the hardware.
Because i9 is inferior, deal with it autist.
Only slightly. If you're using pc for something else besides games ryzen would be better.
Yeah, how stupid of me. Oh wait.
>Intel 2500K = €254
>Intel 5700K = €174 with cashback included
What do you expect from unoptimized early acces garbage.
not that its gonna get much better, look at Ark for example.
t. cucked intel shill
Damn, missed the post.
Cannonlake is laptop only and even then laptop manufacturers will barely adopt it
After Coffee Lake is done Intel will shell out Ice Lake next year
Since they don't have a 10nm process yet (I could be wrong) its highly likely that Ice Lake is just Kaby Lake with 4 more cores and even lower clock speeds
>more cores
For gaming, yes, these 4+ core processors are a meme.
The only reason you would want more cores is if you were setting up a server, if you are a interested in simulation science, or if you render a lot of video.
More cores won't get you more grafix, since almost all of the visual side of things is handled by the GPU. And it won't speed up your games, since game logic is, for the most part, sequential by nature. Sequential calculations don't benefit from more cores.
If you have to choose between a 10-core processor or a 2-core processor for a fifth of the price, go with the latter. Again, if you aren't some scientist or professional video guy, you are just throwing your money away,
Where did the 4 cores are not enough for gaming meme even come from? an i5 with a nice OC will be enough for the next couple of years
>buying a last generation CPU is for actual productive people
>implying REAL productive people aren't earning their money using an outdated Dell Optiplex in their offices
A quad core is more than enough to anyone who doesn't work with video rendering or some really complex task for a living, and you can get c2q and xeons for literal cents around here. Marketing is a bitch and the companies really played people like a fiddle making they think they really need a fucking new CPU after those extremely powerful cpus from a few years ago
Sup Forums loves AMD so they try and trick Sup Forums into buying AMD even though their CPU's aren't any good for gaming in general due to games usually not supporting multicore.
AMD shills from Sup Forums
AMD has stepped up its marketing during Ryzen's release months ago
The only thing they cannot touch is Nvidia so they rag on Intel
You cannot ask Sup Forums anymore about Intel CPUs, you will only get flamed and trolled by AMD fanbois
You even have the same shills in here where they post non-gaming synthetic benchmarks that do not matter in the real world
>intel
I wouldn't blame Sup Forums, they always suggested the G4560 and the i5 in /pcbg/ until Intel cannibalized themselves with the price rising/removal of the first one and the SkylakeX announcement of the second

translate.google.co.uk
From what I can find 4 threads are the bare minimum, though some games are benefitting from having more threads than this.

THE ULTIMATE BRAZILIAN EXPERIENCE
Intel shills are mentally ill for defending inferior products because of buyer's remorse.
>i5 2500k is still adequate
No user, it is not. I had to say goodbye to my 2500k because I always hit 100% in games and was slowing me down.
where is 7700k tho
Burnt.

Cinematic experience.
So this.....is the power...of Intel
5 years is a long time mate, haven't you heard of hardware degradation?
I bet you're one of those people who has 32gb of RAM for a gaming PC.
what resolution are you playing at ? and was it overclocked?
Hot garbage
