Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?

Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?

Why do devs charge 60 bucks for a game and sometimes 100 with season pass and other just to release a unfinished version that they will "probably patch later on".

Why do the people that actually buy their shit allow this?

t.piratefag

because people keep paying for it.

>why is vidya so expensive
>I play vidya for free

You destroy your own argument.

Why do they want to pay that much for 30~hours of "enjoyment" that may or may not be worth it?

How exactly do I destroy my own argument?

It's not, when i was a normie I spent more money in social interactions, public transport and eating outside every week was much expensive that buying a game from time to time. The only expensive thing about gaming is building the PC, but if you think about it, you are gonna need a PC anyways and it's going to last you at least 4 years if you are not very picky about playing future games in medium settings.

>why is X expensive
>I play X free
Didn't realize being capable of playing something for free is expensive.

Why does it matter if I play it for free?
Souldn't it be the other way around? Devs launching more competitive prices so people don't resort to piracy?

>Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?

It's not you, retard. I put a supercharger in my car and it cost $7,000.

>Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?

>gun costs $500
>already more expensive than vidya
>$20 just to go shoot
>spend $50 on ammo every time
>this doesn't even account for other expenses that I can't be fucked to type out

vidya isn't expensive and you're a piece of shit for pirating. kys underage poorfag

You can't complain about price when you're not paying said price.

It's WAAAY cheaper than most hobbies.

Fucks sake, do you go outside?

>"probably patch later on"
Publishers want a AAA game out as soon as possible. They dont care about polish, just the game being out.

Also just wait till a remastered version/GOTY.

That's such bullshit I can't believe you think like that.
Of course I can complain, I don't pirate all my games, I pirate the ones not worth it of being bought for 60 dollars.

>already more expensive than vidya
How much does a well built PC cost you?
How much do each separate game cost you?

Video games are fairly cheap, you're just a poor NEET who has no grasp of the real value of money.

>hobbyist musicians can easily spend thousands of dollars on recording set-ups and instruments
>carfags have basically endless money sink projects on the go constantly
>gun fags are up for a few hundred to thousands of dollars for a new firearm plus ammunition
>food fags go to a restaurant and spend hundreds of dollars to eat only to be hungry again a few hours later
>fashionistas drop hundreds of dollars, if not more on clothing or accessories

The list goes on, 60 bucks for most people is an hour or two of work.

fpbp

This is a retarded question and thread

You'll never not resort to piracy, so shut the fuck up

>I can complain about price on something I get for free
No.

Why is Sup Forums so triggered by pirates?
Where am I?

>starts bringing other costs into it
fuck off dude.

If you wanna argue like that, suddenly going to see a movie costs having a fucking car, having a home, eating, and having clothes.

You're a retard, deal with it.

>Name
>Being butthurt about piracy

Ya except you can put tens, if not hundreds of hours in a 50 buck game while the 50 bucks of ammo is gone after use.

OP, name a legitimate hobby that's cheaper and provides as much variety and hours as gaming.

It's not. Feel free to look into other hobbies.

It's actually pretty cheap compared to other stuff.
But the price of the games are usually high because making them is expensive af and is only getting worse, really.

Vidya is incredibly cheep for how much time you get for you money. Movies are $10+ for 2 hours, travelling costs thousands of dollars WHY PLANES GOTTA COST SO MUCH MONEY I JUST WANNA VISIT PARIS FUCK, and don't get me started on any sort of collecting.

we're not a communist enclave, you pinko faggot. people deserve to be paid for their labor. pirating vidya is enjoying the fruits of someone's labor without compensating them. that's literally commuinism

I'm not complaining about piracy, I simply stated you're not in the position to argue about price when you're enjoying said product for free.

Unless "free" is somehow too costly for you.

You think this shit is expensive? Play a fucking tcg.

Have you tried playing the actual mtg card game? That shit is expensive.

people who produce stuff always get compensated under communism. communism is literally based around the workers who produce a product owning the rights to the product. not some scumbag leech owning "capital" and making profit off of others labor.

>This thread

Lmao OP is a fucking faggot but you buycucks are no better.
The actual amount of butthurt from you is hilarious.

>"H-HOW WILL TODD HOWARD AFFORD THE BIG YATCH INSTEAD OF THE MEDIUM SIZED ONE Y-YOU DAMN PIRATES!"

>Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?
Video games are cheap compared to other hobbies what the fuck are you talking about

>60 bucks
>a lot

HAHAHAHA holy shit imagine being this fucking poor

How can you find it expensive? There are way more expensive hobbys than vidyia. You can't find it expensive because there are people out there spending a shit load of money on their hobbys. Do you think you are better than them because you can have your hobby for free? IT'S NOT FAIR. Imagine if you could pirate a car user, or even weapons, that wouldn't be fair. We need to respect all the people that spend their well earned wagebucks and be silent while they enjoy their hobbys. KYS COMMIE

tcg expenses are a pain no man deserves.
God forbid someone tries to get into more then one tcg at a time.

...

>Why is vidya so expensive compared to other hobbies?

Maybe compared to complete pleb tier hobbies like watching movies or playing soccer but it's still relatively cheap.
