learn how to fucking read

This nigga got it

2, 3 or 9. Leaning on 9
Fuck off

7

>original Mega Man series

I loved 9 and all the weapons but what unremarkable robot masters, save for splish splash.

3

2 > 4 > 3 > 9 > 6 > 7 > 10 > 8 > 5 > 1

Megaman & Bass is in the original series. It's was the first Megaman game with a second character and it wasn't DLC.

X

9 also acknowledges MM&B

1 for starting it all
2 for getting it right
3 for making it awesome
4 for introducing charge shot
5 for nerfing charge shot
6 for music
7 for I AM MORE THAN A ROBOT
8 for best voice acting
9 for a return to form
10 for playable Protoman

I can also feel one being the first is also the worst, I wish Capcom would port Powered up and Maverik Hunter X.

2 > 3 > 6 > 4 > 1 > 5 > 7 > 8 > 9 > 10

& Bass may recycle 8's enemies and Tengu/Astro Man, but that game has some of my favorites like Burner Man, Pirate Man and Dynamo Man.

No way 5 is better than 9 or 10

No way 9 and 10 are better than 5.

>2 is the best
>Boobeam Trap

The weapons you earn are less satisfying or useful in 5 than it was in 9, which was the best set of weapons in any megaman

Mega Man games are about much more than just the weapons. 9's level design is fucking garbage and the the robot masters aren't good. Also, 9 was a cheap, nostalgia-pandering pile of shit that removed the slide for no reason other than making it feel like MM1 and 2.

9 had playable proto as DLC but I understand never buying it. 10 did the same with Bass

Gotta be 9 though

>Phenonomal OST with probably the most even quality in the series
>Robot Master weapons have distinct uses outside of just Boss rush; They posses different trajectories that allow you to hit hard-to-reach enemies, have a lot of hidden uses, and are comparitvely cheap to use so you don't feel you're wasting weapon energy
>Level design is the tightest fucking shit; It's varied, challenging and fair.

I won't argue those points because in a harsh way you're right, but no way was 5 any better. If you were able to beat mega man 1-8 then consider the design of 9 and 10 a test of your skills.

FPBP

Couldn't you unlock the slide in 9 though?

/thread

Proto Man is the only one that can slide and charge shot in 9.

mega man 10

I'm willing to throw 5 a bone because after 4, there was nothing else to add or take away from the series. It was feature-complete. The only thing that could be done was continue to smooth out rough edges, improve the art, and experiment with mechanics. 6 did that much better than 5. 5 was the series running on fumes.

I don't consider 9 and 10 a test of skills because that's far-removed from Mega Man. Mega Man games always gave you options. If you didn't want to do this particular platforming challenge, you could try to bypass it with Rush Jet, but that carried a risk too because if you hit a wall you'd lose Rush and you'd still have to avoid enemies. 9 and 10 don't give you those options. 9 has Plug Man's insufferable stage for instance that consists of a long string of appearing blocks for the second half of the stage. Also, 9 and 10 were chock-full of minibosses that would grind the levels to a halt. Awful, awful games and Inti Creates has no business designing video games.

6

For me it felt like the end of the series, and what an ending it had.

Just about to post this.

6 all the way.

I always loved Mega Man 8 personally

there's just something so comfy about it

9, unless you mean the ORIGINAL originals, in which case it's 3.

Can we all agree that 7 is the worst?

>Inti Creates has no business designing video games

In most instances I'd agree but MM9 was the one time I felt they actually designed good levels. A bit heavy on the pit traps but otherwise I adored 9 from start to finish. It's leaps and bounds above the banal design of, say, the Zero series.

I'm willing to throw you a bone too, that was eloquantly written and I can't disagree with most of it, but two minor things. In Tornado Man's stage, rush jet was a viable and almost safer option, and ever since mega man 1 and the magnet beam, mega man games were always designed so a player could 'cheat' and cross any terrain if player has enough energy. Just because plug man's layout is admitted a bit wonky, Rush Jet is always a viable option.

And you can hate Inti creates all you want, I like a few of their games. I would never wish death of your favorite franchise, it's less productive. More criticism is fine ofc

Can agree, as a kid i couldn't wait to finally play mm7 after loving 6 so much.,.

I was disappointed, nowdays i can enjoy it.

None. Castlevania was better.

Enjoy your Pachinko Machine and your FotM Netflix anime.

Mega fags don't have it better who am I kidding.

2 and 3 are my favorite, but 4 has some good moments too, out what I've played so far it probably has my favorite final Wily battle.

Fuck darkstalkers

There were 3 great platformer series on the NES fuck off Ninja Gaiden fags, Mario, Megaman and Castlevania.

Mario is the all rounder and had great level design and creativity.

Castlevania had great atmosphere and an interesting weapon the game was balanced around.

Megaman's strength was control. Controls were fucking tight, weapon selection put the power in your hands, and with the slide in 3 Megaman evolved from platformer to full on action game.

4 > 2 > 3 > 9 > 7 > 6 > 10 > 1 > 8 > 5
