I don't know much about either authors but from what I've read/seen a lotta people criticize kdizd for it's excessive map details, almost like how HL2 Cinematic mod adds unnecessary stuff to make it look detailed like ferns or bridges or ms paint graffiti or infopics.

the project leader is rather well-known in the doom community for massively overhyping his mods, but i don't think he's a particularly antagonistic guy. he doesn't attack other people's works or anything, just toots his own horn a bit excessively. there was a lot of drama back over kdizd back in the day though, to the point that another doom wad (community is falling 3) was made to document the events.
