It wasn't a bad console.
It wasn't a bad console
Yes it was.
>weak as shit
>worst 3D Mario
>no Zelda until the end of its life cycle
>no Fzero or Metroid
>Horrible third-party support
It was surpassed by the handheld that came out 3 years before it.
>worst 3D Mario
shit taste
Sunshine is the worst 3D Mario though
*2 years
Shit hardware, shit software and shit controller
wii u is bad on everything
underage/falseflaggers leave
it was a good console, just not a good nintendo console
Its one of the better Nintendo consoles though, better than Wii, N64 and probably NES.
>Console has a tablet peripheral
>"haha but you can't take it with you"
what a fucking retarded idea. this fucker literally could not do anything right.
It's great for upscaling Wii games and supports a decade of games. But it really is the worst console they ever made.
sunshine was a rushed mess, I have no idea why so many people on Sup Forums have been praising it recently. It used to be hated.
>sunshine was a rushed mess
wanna back that claim up
it was developed in under a year, this is pretty common knowledge user.
It was fiddy fiddy
>odd as fuck controller options
>sell various controllers/have multiple input options but up to devs to implement/some not usable even in system OS
>no third party games at all
>shit charger
>terrible range
The games it had tho were alright and Nintendo were so desperate for sales at the launch of MK8 they practically gave me their whole library for free once I sold the copies off. They lost the 2nd and 3rd party devs and paid the price, then the games teased for it changed way too fucking much for it to be a success. In the end, jap devs just stuck to vita and PS4 for weeb games and the casual audience wasn't there.
the second screen is an amazing idea if you want to use the tv for something else. Too bad we'll never see it again because casuals only listen to marketing
That doesn't stop it from being a good game.
I've seen that same fake story on about 100 other people. Checkmate Gaben.
Naw, it was a bad console. It had some good games though.
it's not a good game, it's extremely lacking in the platforming department in favor of an out-of-place questlike structure. The setting is nice, and the aesthetic is on-point, but a good game it is not.
It gave me the opportunity to play BotW on PC, one that I thought I'd never get. When I heard it was sorta playable on Cemu I just tried it for the lulz, I wasn't actually expecting it to be one of my most played game in this year. But lordy lord I'm glad that it still is. I swear who woulda thought the key for a seamless open world traversing was Assassin's Creed climbing mechanics but with less restrictions?
>tfw switcheroo got the idea right
>tfw switcheroo will never have dual screens
I don't get the whole rushed meme. Majora's Mask was made in a year, GOTY. Melee made in a year, GOTY. TTYD rushed, GOTY. Nintendo's games around that time were all rushed, but they were still some damn good games.
If you dislike the idea of playing gamecube games with the pro controller for fucking free well ....
...
>Ditched dual screens
>Ditched stylus compatible touch screens
Nothing I like about the 3DS or WiiU is present in the Switch
It’s not, it has the 2 games worth playing on the switch. (Zelda and Mario kart)
Prety gud console
What I got:
>Bundled with NintendoLand
>Mario Kart 8
>Splatoon
>Smash4
>Kirby Rainbow Curse
>Donkey Kong TF
>NSMBU + Luigi U
>Mario 3D World
>Bayonetta 1 + 2
>Pokken
>Super Mario Maker
>Windwaker HD
>Pikmin 3
>Wonderful 101
>Hyrule Warriors
>Zelda BotW
>Captain Toad
>Yoshi's Woolly World
>Starfox Zero
There's still more games I didn't mention too like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Paper Mario but they didn't look interesting to me. They didn't do much with the tablet so that part sucked. Also the games + the console itself were all somewhat pricey. I swear they never dropped the prices even to its dying breath. Also obviously calling it the "WiiU" was a huge mistake.
I had fun that's all that matters
...
I love my WiiU, these are my games.
just as shit as the switch but after the blunder that was the wiiu, toddlers had to step up their game and start shilling the switch beyond anything that you could imagine.
t. someone who bought that shit hoping for a monhun
this time i'll sit and wait before getting another nintendo console, handheld or whatever that tablet thing is..
>Majora's Mask was made in a year
Yeah because the engine and assets were already completed and all they had to do was make new levels and write new dialogue
>Melee made in a year
Fighting games don't take long to produce
It's almost like having the console stream via wifi was a bad idea.
They'd have been better making a 3dsTV or whatever, or at least putting more classic DS/3DS titles on it.
retard, read the rest of that sentence. They developed 2 different sequels before finally starting development on Sunshine.
speaking of wii u, i'm trying to hack mine and the browser hack thing keeps freezing on me, tried it about 10 times, do you just have to keep trying or something?
I just bought one used
>They spent 2 years making Mario 64 sequel prototypes but applied nothing they made to sunshine
idiot
True.
BotW, decent Mario Kart, some decent Mario games, Bayo 1 and 2, Zelda remakes, backward compatible, good homebrew scene, decent Smash, kinda cute Kirby.
Its not a massive library, but its almost as big as the list of games I'ld still play on the N64. And its still bigger than the list of games I would play on PS4. And its bigger than the no games I would play on Xbox.
It was badly designed with gimmics, stupidly marketed and named, and pissed on 3rd party as everything since SNES has, but when next to other things it really isn't half bad. Plus hell it was cheap enough I could justify it for a few games...looking at you PS4.
(You)
Make sure to be wearing boxers and not whitey tighties
what if i'm not wearing anything
If Nintendo made more of an effort to use the second screen on the Wii U, they might have kept it.
But I think they realized having to constantly look down at the gamepad and then back up to the TV wasn't actually fun to do.
show me anything in common with those prototypes and Sunshine.
It wasn't a bad console if you skipped the Wii
You didn't need the HDMI. Some games work on tablet mode
You get the picture. It was partially mobile.
