>latest installment in primarily singleplayer franchise has a strong multiplayer focus
>multiplayer becomes the "successful" aspect of the game and singleplayer is abandoned by the devs
Latest installment in primarily singleplayer franchise has a strong multiplayer focus
blame twitchkiddies
Name 5 games that do this. I can think of cod and battlefield
This happened to Phantasy Star.
Though PSO is good, I'll never forgive Sega for effectively killing off one of the best single-player RPG franchises ever.
Multiplayer is the future. There's no place in the future for single player cucks like yourself
cod
battlefield
quake
unreal
gta
SFV did this.
Also get gud op and stop being a pussy.
Why play with yourself when you can play with others? Wait...
At least 3 of those games had shit single-player modes.
I never played the Dreamcast versions, but Episode 1+2 on Gamecube I'm convinced is possibly the best ARPG I've ever played.
Quake and unreal's multiplayer makes the game better
Try again
>no quake 1 remake like doom and wolfenstein got
>instead there's a fucking hero shooter
>we will never a fully imagined ultraviolence horror-themed quake game
>we will never get a quake game with the fully integrated lovecraft shit sandy petersen was into
>modern id is shit and john romero dwells somewhere in fucking galway, ireland
Yeah yeah modern Doom is shit, Wolfenstein is SJW memes, but Quake at least deserves the recognition. Multiplayer kids ruined a game with fucking top tier atmosphere, levels and enemy design.
>battlefield
Literally the opposite. Battlefield started as a multiplayer-only title, but singleplayer is getting bigger and more polished with every new release.
The rest are true though. I will never not be mad at the current state of quake and cod.
I worry for Red Dead.
It's still good
>battlefield
wrong
>they turn a singleplayer RPG series into an MMO
>they shut down a better MMO so it doesn't compete with their new product
Why?
the other user tricked me
>the best arpg he has ever played is fucking phantasy star
You know NOTHING of painl.
>Once primarily singleplayer franchise that gained a strong and successful multiplayer focus goes on for years before suddenly boasting a strong but lacking singleplayer aspect again.
>No one cares.
>And people hate the multiplayer too.
>There will be no sequel with an full singleplayer component that will take dozens or more hours to complete to make good on the potential of the last one.
Almost happened to Resident Evil. 5's a plague on the franchise and 6 is only marginally better thanks to its controls.
Halo is the only (1) I need
*ignores 7*
If you play halo for the single player campaign kill yourself. Seriously it's the most boring generic Sci fi trash ever conceived in a video game (save for mess effect)
7 was a slight return to single player form with a different camera.
>Multiplayer f2p
>non cash-grap Single p2p
this is the way
this would work really well. Make all the money off people who like paying for pixel clothes as well as increased exposure from f2p multi
would be interesting if a dev took advantage of that setup and the lifespan of a populated multiplayer game to continue improving singleplayer
Pretty sad m8
what is her name user?
