Because Perfect Dark had a disgusting girl
it came 4 years earlier?
Not even normalfags still believe that user, just about everyone has revisited the game by now and realized how clunky and awkward it is.
Because 007 is a wildly successful series of movies, so it's ok for normies to admit playing a videogame about it.
it was less than 3 years but ya
This
The re-release of it on the xbox was really good and took care of that. Although over all still a far better game.
Perfect Dark was a nice homage to Goldeneye but it did nothing to improve on what was already pretty spectacular. Aside from the AI bots you could face in multiplayer and a few new weapons there wasn't anything noteworthy about it.
I feel bad for PD. Completely oversahdowed by Goldeneye nostalgia and it's superior successors.
When PD came out, people were more interested in DC/PS2.
I feel like thats a bit underselling it. Perfect dark brought a lot more cool game player mechanics to the table, the spy bot, the various muti-use weapons, the multiplayer that was some of the best out there.
>and it's superior successors.
I know this is gonna be really unpopular but I genuinely liked Perfect Dark Zero. In an era where every shooter was trying to copy Halo, it stuck relatively close to its roots and did some neat stuff.
This desu, there were secret weapons you had to get git guud scores at the target range at the home hub. Awesome soundtrack, game had actual dialogue instead of goldeneyes silent captions. Both are goat great games but perfect dark had more to it.
I was talking about goldeneye, you're damn right about the xbox remake. Was fun playing that online when it was released.
I played both as a kid and always loved Perfect Dark more, the 360 port too was pretty good with the online split-screen coop. I feel like PD has aged better overall.
But......i recall goldeneyes multiplayer madness and awesomeness
>who the fuck picked oddjob again
Other than
>Graphics
>Infinitely more interesting setting and environments
>Homeworld
>All those challenges to unlock stuff
>An actual story
What an awful opinion user.
>tfw you will never fuck a Skedar
Perfect Dark tried to balance short characters by giving them big heads, but in custom character creation you can give the Mayans a normal human head. We just banned short bodies.
It was too slow and clunky. It did have some neat things going for it but ultimately thats why no one liked it.
>replaying this on Rare Replay on a cold October night.
Perfect Dark had an even worse framerate, required the expansion pak, had a weak sci-fi setting, and came along after Mario Party had already ruined friendships and controllers. Then Halo came along and stole any thunder it had in the genre.
True. Halo being the biggest franchise besides Mario, I'm not surprised. PD is still a really good game, though.
The work Rare put into the game might still be unmatched if you consider it a sequel, and with stuff we know didn't make the cut like the Game Boy Camera support I have to assume all sorts of work just didn't fit into the game in the end. Between this and Conker I'm sure late 90s Rare has a lot of crazy development stories.
It really is interesting reading up about nintendo 64 game development , rare were the masters at squeezing the most they could of the hardware.
Goldeneye was rated T, Perfect Dark was M.
Since they were playing these as kids, they were much less likely to have the one that required parental approval to buy.
Levels and objectives were better in Goldeneye.
I like the music in Goldeneye better. It's also easier to just pick up and play compared to Perfect Dark.
Because Perfect Dark came out at the end of the N64's lifespan. That's pretty much it.

In case you haven't seen the making of Perfect Dark.
fuck you
thats because you are wrong
>Joanna Dark
Joan of ark
holy fucking shit
Perfect Dark is a 10/10 for a reason, it's legendary but the sequel for the Xbox 360 sucks
Vivec?
this is not wrong
...
That
>it did have some neat things going for it but ultimately that's why no one liked it
Huh? I never played any of them.
