Octopath, but that's not to say I won't be getting both.

When I see how nice Lost Sphear looks, it makes me wonder why Square didn't use the same engine for the Secret Of Mana remake. SOM deserved better than those mobile tier graphics

any particular reason that Octopath wins out?

I really liked the Octopath Traveler demo.
Didn't Lost Sphear already come out and flop in Japan? I don't trust Tokyo RPG Factory after I Am Setsuna.

Because it is SaGa + Bravery Default and I'm Setsuna was kind of a dissapointment.

Lost sphear has a substantially larger budget.

My vote is on LS, I own both Bravely Default 1 & 2 and I've played the Octopath demo on my Switch. I'm more excited for LS since at this point Octopath is almost guaranteed to be a great JRPG, on the other hand the mystery regarding LS and platinum's involvement makes it more interesting to look out for.

I'm most excited about SMTV tho even though it'll take awhile to come out

The Lost Sphear trailers look so boring. What's the hook? Octopath Traveler's interesting to me because it's promising to be nonlinear, has some actual roleplaying with character gimmicks and multiple quest solutions, and Primrose's story was really dark.

Why is Platinum involved in LS? Also that doesn't mean anything unless they're doing the gameplay. See Star Fox 0. And sometimes that still isn't enough. See Nier: Automata.

Octopath hands down.

Lost Sphear already came out in Japan didn't it?

yes it wasn't well received at all

Octopath Traveller, LS looks boring. Even though I liked I Am Setsuna

I don't think Tokyo RPG Factory really gets it. They're making dime-a-dozen JRPGs that don't stand out in any way. We had shit tons of these way back when and they did not become beloved classics.

The glory days of Squaresoft came out of pouring lavish amounts of time and money into all of their stuff. The JRPGs of their era were experimental and had some of the highest production values of their day. Tons of generics tried to copy that and failed, and I Am Setsuna feels like another one of those.

Okay yeah that's what I thought.

What is this? Pixelshit Recettear?
Looks pretty good. More people need to do the item shop thing.

Secret of Mana

The terrible looking remake?

Lost Sphear
3D and CT combat vs DUDELOLSORETRO indie pixelshit and the same snorefest turn based Dragon Quest combat

It's not CT combat, it's some kind of Neptunia looking shit. Also it looks like a cheap mobile game. At least Octopath Traveler looks distinct.

>It's not CT combat, it's some kind of Neptunia looking shit.
Yeah you never played this, thanks for depositing your shitpost, now fuck off.

>Recettear with better dungeons
Neat, the art is kind of whatever, but the monster animations look nice. I just hope they don't fuck up the item shop mechanics, since it looks a lot more shallow than Recettear.

Obviously, dumbshit. The game isn't out in English. But since you have to move your characters around and there are AoE circles and stuff, that's nothing like CT and exactly like Neptunia.

>have to move
R E T A R D
It's automated like in CT, movement is optional.

Lost Sphear is hot garbage and also gonna flop in the west since it releases in between Ni No Kuni 2 and Monster Hunter World. wtf was SE thinking?

I like the look of Octopath more desu but as I only own a PS4 that isn't an option

Lost Sphere looks decent enough, and if it ends up still only being decent and not amazing I'd be happy.

Hey dumbass, if you have AoEs then you have to care about where your characters are which means you have to move them. Which means this plays nothing like CT.

Could always buy a Switch. It's gonna be the new Vita.
