Game of the Year - 2017

Game of the Year - 2017

9.5/10 for me
The sheer amount of shit you can do and ways you can do it is just the best. Though I do feel that they didn't quite follow through with the effects of said choices and multiplayer is pretty shit with randos.

It's great but random loot kills it.

worse than the first one and the first one wasnt goty either

Lets be realistic.

The game of the year (and very likely decade) is PUBG. Denying this is pure delusion by this point

And now for the reasons

>started as literally who, grew to the biggest "hard to run" game in history
>extremely, extremely high player retention of 80 percent
>more "unique" than most games
>realistically the only game anyone is going to remember well into the future

>realistically the only game anyone is going to remember well into the future

Bullshit. If there is any genre in which people constantly bring up old games it is RPGs.

These are the (non f2p) games everyone remembers as true "classics" from last gen: minecraft, halo 3, co4, skyrim, gta v.

Can you imagine divinity being remembered the same way as those? It clearly won't be.

103/100 if you include the Nintendo bonus. Not bad for a kickstarter crpg.

>last patch broke more stuff than it fixed, including introducing some game breaking bugs
>no patch since
>it's been a fucking month
It should be disqualified from any sort of GOTY nomination based on absolute lack of support from the devs. Yes I'm mad.

>crpgs

>These are the (non f2p) games everyone remembers as true "classics" from last gen: minecraft, halo 3, co4, skyrim, gta v.
Said the idiot.

Doesn't even deserve to be game of the week

Those are the biggest in the average persons opinion.

Said the idiot who can't back up anything he says.

it was patched literally yesterday faggot

I've gotten good mileage of it, it has a long singleplayer game, decent replayability, and cooping with friends is fun. Biggest thing that holds it back is its inherently slow pace and a fuckton of bugs.

It's just fucking obvious. Which one do you disagree with?

Other notable ones are mw2, gears, oblivion, mass effect but those are the main ones.

Says the idiot who can't back up anything he says.

>It's just fucking obvious
That's what idiots typically resort to when they're too stupid to actually back their statements up.

It's impossible to back that up with facts. Same thing if someone says "what was the most important game last gen?". It's very clearly minecraft but there's nothing to define the most important game.

Which one do you actually disagree with or think is missing?

>Prey
>Divinity OS 2
>BotW
>Mario Odyssey
God Damn I love video games

That's not ELEX

>It's impossible to back that up with facts
So you admit to making baseless claims. Thanks for that, retard.

No fucking doubt. Its not utterly perfect even for me, but it took fucking Belgians to make something decent.

A perfect example of late 90s early 00s middle market videogame.

this is not a nier automata thread, faggot

yeah fuck actually having choices in my games, right?

niche game for a niche audience. If there's a game to be proud of for a PCbro, this is it. A homage to crpg and turned based games back then, before FPS became the norm

>turn based
Nah

..... goes to super mario odyssey

Its more than that, its the only decent rpg since Torment, Neverwinter and such others.

If Larian keeps iterating like this after this one I expect more masterpieces.

Babby's first turn based RPG. Literal dogshit combat system and balancing with exactly zero challenge. I'm not surprised normies loved it, you can break the game with literally any skill tree.

Salt is real.

Salt from playing this trash in the first place, maybe.

So salty. Must suck for you knowing it'll be game of the year.
