There was a scene or two in V where he was pretty flirty, like pulling out the knife, but otherwise no. Which is why he's the best. It's subtle enough to arguably not even be real.

The problem is usually not about if they character is gay but rather why they're gay. If it's a blatant move on the writer's part to score some points it's without fail unbearable. The same could be said with any romance though. If it doesn't add anything don't do it.

I don't think you need a character to "hide" how gay they are in order to be a good character, but they do need to be more than just gay. Mass Effect has some boring nobody characters that only exist to talk about how homo/transexual they are. Shadow Hearts has absolutely flaming faggots but beyond that they're normal characters like anyone else in the game.

Heterosexuality is the default. It's what's normal. Anything that deviates from that is not normal. I don't think I'm the one who's crying, lad.

A good gay character doesn't need to "hide" it or make it hard to tell they're gay.
They just need to have a fucking personality beyond being gay. Make it just a part of their personality rather than their entire personality defined with one word.
