Utawarerumono

Talk about Uta games and shit

How the fuck do you get past Mikazuki during the giant war? You're limited to maybe five units, not the ones you typically want, and the guy just starts throwing around 800 attack and moving twice in a row at some point during the fight.

...

That mission actually wasn't too bad, I used nekone and haku to be a zeal slave to Ougi and kuon and then had fumriul feeding turns to ougi. It doesn't say it in his abilities but he can only counter you every other turn, admitedly though when he can't counter are the times he will shit 800 dmg.

I am still mad at the ending

I'm glad Eruru got her man back but fuck, Kuon deserved to be happy.

I had him down to 1/4th health the first time around before he started shitting out 800 damage three times in a row as his zeal reached max.

Every other attempt since then has been a disaster though. Like damn, I've had two times where he plain ignored Haku and everyone and just increased his movement to get right beside Nosuri before I could do shit.

Oh yeah that's the other thing I forgot to mention, curse is your friend for that fight, nekone chain 2.

I think Aquaplus had avatar and korra syndrom

aka they loved their previous characters so much that they wanted to give them a happy ending at the expense of their new ones they didn't care as much about.

>everyone is subhuman: the game

Fuck that. Where the fuck are my pure human bros at?

That's literally the plot for uta 2 and 3.

Look if your brother developed a civilization of cat girls who are drawn to you by nature, what's so wrong with that?

Who did you guys use the most in 2 and 3?

Kuon catches up with haku back where she first found him. Check the cover of the soundtrack.

Nosuri
Nekone
Kuon
Rulu
Anju

Few others

Anju hits like a tank, but I think they nerfed a few of the characters from game 2 in game 3.

Fucking over the cast from the first game when it delivered a good end which was retconned was undeserved.

They nerfed Kiuru hard most notably.
He was fucking broken.

>what's so wrong with that

Everything. Some fucked up dude decided to destroy my pure human bros for no reason? Fuck that. This world was given to humanity by our Lord. They should make an Uta game where you side with YHVH and remake the world.

It's also in after credits, but haku still god zones her.

Anju, Kuon, Atuy, Ougi, and Nosuri were my favorites to use.

But I found you could trivialize the game if you just brought fumirul, nekone, and oshtor and did zeal/free turn circle jerks with them, then there's Kuon who is beyond broken as all fuck with neudori final combo so 4 of my slots ended up being taken.

If you do the post game grind (EOV came out right as I finished my playthrough of 3 so didn't get chance to do end game grind) does kuon get post game stance of attack and healing? Because if so I just realized she would get infinite turns.

Main character is always human, and one other character is human, but humanity was kinda wiped out by a rampaging godzilla in the past and turned into immortal goo blobs that must suffer forever unable to die. Kinda a point of the game is that MC wants to revive humanity or at least find a way to end their suffering.

Earth has moved on, new civilizations formed. Its like Planet of the Apes but sexier.

I think a lot of that had to do with the fact they made the good end of uta 1 with the fact they likely weren't going to touch the franchise again. So they had to think how they would make an engaging plot for 2 and 3 and that was the only answer they could come up with.

>finish mast of truth last week
>that filling of emptiness still hasn't gone away

T-they're going to announce a new game, right?

Also, I found Anju to be broken as fuck. Give her the skill that increases her Zeal and stats when she gets low on life and she gets a skill that lets her survive with 1 HP when otherwise she would die. Use the attack that makes her power up at the cost of taking damage. She was one-shotting like 3 enemies at a time even on Hard and as long as you have one of the healers babysit her she'll never die.

I think it's in a different spot, even farther into the future after the ending of the game.
Either way, we'll find out if the next project isn't a remake of 1 like it's rumored to be.

>finished mask of truth two days ago

Well it wasn't a trash ending like Deception, but I still feel like its not that great.

I think Haku/Oshtor was an okay MC, but he got lucky way too many times. I'm still trying to figure out why the fuck Woshis had his shota minions sabotage Raiko's cannon and open the gates at the literally the last minute. It's the dumbest thing ever. You could have just wiped out Oshtor right there. I don't really understand why Woshis sided with Raiko in the first place, besides for the lolz and MUH EXPERIMENTS at this point.

They already said they have something in the works called Utawarumono Zero. Other then that we literally know nothing else.

>the new project turns out to be a mobile game

I sure hope so, I also hope it will be linked to 2 and 3 the same way they were linked to 1

Woshi wanted to gain what he thought was his birthright which was all of Yamato, he planned to have Raiko and Oshtor self destruct on each other but his plans came undone. So then he settled with helping Oshtor as he thought him the lesser threat not yet realizing that haku=oshtor.

From there he resigned himself to just ruling over the human side of Yamato but upon realizing Haku was still alive, well....

really hope it's not a prequel. My hype will die down to zero, tbqh.

I really loved haku in 2, the fucker was hilarious.
I really missed him in 3.

2 ending was a bitch, the wait for 3 was insufferable.

But user don't you want to whale for SSR bride Karulau or one of the dumb birds?!?!

I hope so too, but is there anything to talk about after 3?

Isn't haku purging all the tataris?

way to fake your own death in the anime asshole.

Have you praised the biggest dumbest birdslut today?

>no PC release so no H-scenes
>never get to see Haku properly dick any of the girls
>no tittyfuck scene with Nosuri
>no threesome with the twins

Only complaint honestly. There's very little porn of the Mask of Deception/Truth characters too.

Also, Woshiggy and his army of fuckbois made the last ten hours or so pretty annoying. Never really felt like they built any of them up enough for you to actually hate or feel sorry for them so they were nothing more than annoying excuses to throw a wench in every plan at the last second and keep extending the plot.

I'm glad I waited for Futari no Hakuoro to complete Itsuwari no Kamen (I had stopped around half way). I don't think I'd have been able to bear the one year gap between the two games after finishing Itsuwari.

You take that back.

That's the point of the third game; guy gave up everything, his identity, his self, his friends, in order to save his country and friends. Because he realized the country didn't need Haku, it needed Oshutor. Guy has to live out the rest of his life pretending to be someone else, and it takes a huge toll on both him and Nekone. Has a nice breaking scene where Oshutor's mother realizes it isn't really him.

Cocopuffs

I looked the other day, and it's all nekone crap with a smidge of Kuon. Seriously how do elevens like Nekone, she literally ruined everything every single time she did something.

No

Least she regretted it. That alone puts her above most tsundere types. She has some awareness about what she did, even to a fault.

that one scene hit me hard

I thought Woshis already figured out his Oshtor's identity before. When they first met at the shrine in Tuskur, he already knew who he was.

and I guess that's still kind of dumb because, even assuming Oshtor is real person, I guess I don't know why he'd be considered a lesser threat than Raiko. Oshtor had the Akuruka, and Raiko is just an extremely good tactician. But other than that, it doesn't seem like he has any real physical ability. In fact, if Shichiiriya didn't have sentimental feelings, he could have probably just assassinated him whenever he wanted.

>the bandit guy's fate at the end

I don't normally like genderbender stuff, but wew lad.

So from what I gather, Woshi betrayed Raiko in favor of letting Oshtor win. Then he got intel about the final convo the restored Maro and Oshtor had where he basically went "Come on dude, I'm not haku, but I'm totally haku!" and realized it then. Infact a lot of the reasons he went for the Master Key then when he could've gone for it at any time is he realized Haku was still alive and basically went "Oh shit gotta get it before he does" and realized he fucked up.

As for why he though Oshtor was less of a threat then Raiko has much the same perspective that Haku had. An Arakura is a dangerous and powerful thing, but do you know what could become more dangerous and more powerful in 50 years? Raiko's weapons.
Woshi's was initially trying to play the long game.

>password is password
Sensibly chuckled at this part

Karura > Your waifu

Haku's logic there was absolutely unassailable which made it great.

Infact I think comedy wise those are the best parts of uta, Haku's internal monologue when he's panicking.

I love this stupid bird!

The part where he shows Kiwru, Ougi, and Jachtwaldt Oshtor's secret technique and just bullshits his way through the whole thing had me dying.

I'm assuming that you start with the VN? Anyone got a download link or something?

What about Karura 2.0?

The fact Ougi knew all along and fucked with Haku made it great

Uta 1 girls > boys
Uta 2/3 boys > girls

You can pretty much watch the first anime, and then play games 2 and 3. Don't watch the second anime though.

Atuy kissed Haku before anyone else. Does that mean she won the Hakubowl?

>the mikado gave her pervy underwear

ougi flat the best male in the series that isn't haku or hakuro

I'm sorry but just the fact that Atuy's berserker laugh by itself can get me raging hard makes me have to disagree with the latter part of your statement.

nobody won.

>was expecting a timeskip during the epilogue where you'd see her as a teenager

Hurts just a little bit.

Kinda want to see a mother anju now

I thought I'd keep post game for later but never brought myself to do it.
I only discovered how fun Ougi was to use way too late through the first game. I absolutely love performing his hidden inputs. He also synergized very well with Nosuri and Kiuru, and got dem dual ougis with both of them too.
The whole hidden input thing reminded me of Paper Mario and I loved trying to find where it "would feel good" to input a command and see that it worked.

Yakutowaruto or whatever the US name is and his counters was also fun.

Fucking Mikazuki fight. There's always this point in the battle where he does 700 damage, Haku uses reversal of Fate to live, and immediately Mikazuki gets another turn and does it again. Battle is over as soon as that happens.

Ougi can't concentrate on him without Mikazuki countering and setting up his lighting rods. Kuon has to keep healing people since everyone is always dying and Mikazuki keeps getting extra turns.

I still have the tap rhythm for all his hidden crits from skill 2 onward down as muscle memory. I never did get the right timing for the hidden crits in skill 1 or his other combo chain though.

I'm maybe halfway into the game and I already regret not making a new save point at the start of each battle. Now I have to play all the way through again just to reach some scenes.

One of Kuon's action chains should drain zeal on the last hit. You should probably have that by now.
You can usually end an attack chain early to keep him from countering, or just don't attack if he's going to counter.

I honestly don't remember struggling on this fight.
I did wipe once, but that's it.

They fixed this in the third game. You can go back and rewatch scenes.

Man the build up at the end of the third game and the two last stages with Haku coming back and leveling up super fast to save his waifu with the music was cheesy but holy shit I'll be damned if I wasn't hyped and heated up as it happened. That was fucking awesome.

Read what I said in he doesn't counter after every 2nd attack. Also kuon is not your healer for this fight, fumriul, nekone, and to a lesser extent oshtor are for that fight. Kuon should be focusing on shitting damage.

Not just that, you're forced to use nekone that fight meaning free curses, so zeal shouldn't even be an issue.

Is post game worth it or is it only there for the challenge and have you grind BP?

Post game of 2 is pretty average
Post game of 3 was really fun. There's a little section at the end that you really shouldn't miss.

>Post game of 3 was really fun.
Story wise you mean?
If so, I think I'm gonna go back to it.

Both battle and "story" wise.
There isn't much there that's relevant to the actual story of the game.
There's some genuinely tough battles, with some gag battles in between for comedy that are actually pretty funny.

>Haku gets shafted in the end
It's not fucking fair bros

Finally won after finding out I could turn off commands in the action chain to not trigger him countering.

This feature is super important man, how could you miss it?
They tell you about it, and enemies use and abuse it too.
You can also do it dynamically during a chain by pressing triangle instead of circle when you want to end it.

He gets his dream man he gets to lie around and drink and sleep all day while he somehow has 2 flesh puppets follow him :^)

But that was just one if his patented jokes. He's not lying around and doing nothing he's doing everything he can to help the people and save the tatari.

Dude got brought back to life as a god. You should be happy with at least that.

How did the game do in the West?

Not great unfortunately and hell out of those 74 posts I am something like 15-20.

Keep the thread alive for me bros I gotta go to sleep and want to continue talking about the series when I wake up.

Safe bet is not very good.
JP sales were really high though.

It's always the same posters in these threads but that does not necessarily reflect how well the game did. Most people on this board hate reading and have the attention span of a goldfish.

Haku (God) figure when?

>mobile
Itsuwari no Kamen's was marketed with the following caption:
"Taking back games from smartphones", so I don't think that's in their plans.
I'd love a PC release though.

I forgot about that marketing. That's reassuring, though.
What was the last game Aquaplus/Leaf released a game on PC?

>killing ainu niggers the game

Is this fun game?

Going from hints on twitter posts it's speculated it's either a prequel or a remake of the first game. I actually want to see happened to Tuskur in her early years serving the White God against Genjimaru and the Black God.

It's a rollercoaster of cute girls doing cute things, heartbreaking drama and war/action, in a mix done well.

>prequel + remake of the first game with the new engine on PS4 with a bundle of the four games on PC
It'll never happen, will it?

>prequel.
There goes my hype.

PC is hopeless.
I just pray that whatever they do next will still come out on PS3 like Uta2 and 3. PS4 is region locked and I'm not planning to buy a vita anytime soon.

There is an entire backstory of Tuskur, Genjimaru and the Giriyagina clan that was only told in side materials. Making an entire game of that would appeal to people who are more interested in the lore.

I want to fug young Tuskur-chan in a prequel.

Ps4 is region free.

Huh, must have mixed up with something else.
Not that I could afford a PS4 anyway.

She said she looked like Aruru when she was young so she probably looks like Aruru as she appeared in Uta2 and Uta3. Would fug.

I just broke down and bought one for these games.
Gonna be collecting dust until the next one comes out.

Good for them if it's a prequel.
But I'd lose all interest. I fucking hate prequels.
Same goes if it's a remake.

Not sure they can do a proper sequel. Fans would probably now expect returning characters from both Hakuoro and Haku arcs.

Honestly I don't hate the SoL but it kills the pacing.

Fumirul was a pretty good unit but story wise she was a pretty pointless character her only purpose being giving Munechika back her mask.

Also convincing Munechika that Tuskur isn't so bad. Without her taking care of Munechika during her imprisonment, she probably wouldn't have turned.
And comedy relief of course.
